Childhood: He was spoiled as can be, being an only child. His parents were young, and had only failed pregnancies after him. He was a kind child, and loved to play outside and explore. He wanted to be an explorer when he grew up, and loved making up stories.
Teen years: He became serious about his future as Duke of Luxembourg, his father had fallen very ill. He began urging his tutors to teach him about current politics, economics, and generally how to rule an entire country, while still pursuing regular education and passions. He had many friends as well during this time.
Adult years: His parents had convinced him to go off to college in England, as his father seemed to be doing better. However, after only a few months, he got news of his father's passing and went straight home. A few days after the funeral, he was crowned Duke of Luxembourg, and took only a short time before beginning his important work. Now, he is seeking a bride to help him lead.

Important friends/relatives (explain): Princess of France. Their countries, being so close to one another, are very important allies. So, as children the young duke and the princess were always kept as close friends, visiting one anothers' countries frequently. The Duke and Duchess of Luxembourg, however, never planned on marrying into the Princess' power, as she was also an only child. They knew she would one day need to marry a high title to serve as King, but they didn't want that for their son. So, they stayed just friends over the years, agreeing via contract to live completely platonic to one another.
