clan camp
Oakclan clan camp is located in a dense forest in the Montana wilderness.
A grove of oak trees create a clearing full of tall grasses, shrubs, and
fallen trees that form the dens of the Oakclan cats. The leaders den can
be found to the north of the clearing in a hallowed out oak tree that is
apart of the circle encasing the small meadow. Not far to the left of the
leaders den is the entrance to camp; a seemingly hollowed out tree that
can be climbed from the inside and a few feet up a old birds hollow is
the exit to the surrounding woods. This is near impossible for kits, very
pregnant queens, weak elders and some young apprentices to climb.
Cats whom can jump higher than average can usually just leap out. On
the very south end of camp is the warriors den. It is a patch of five or
six large shrubs that warriors from the past have flattened down in the
center to create a comfortable den. Not far to the right of there is the
apprentices den. It is a patch of tall grasses that are flattened in the
middle to create a soft spot to sleep. When it rains, whatever the oak
trees above can't catch, rains down on the apprentices. They are often
allowed to find shelter elsewhere. To the east of the grove is the
elders den. It is a fallen over young oak that rests on the branches of
it's still standing, mighty kin. Underneath the apprentices have built
comfortable nests for the elders. To the west of the grove is the
medicine cats den. It is similar to the leaders; a hollowed out oak that
forms the grove. However it is larger and has been carved and built
by medicine cats of the past to have shelf like branches inside. Just
outside the medicine cats den and to the left is the nursery. It is like
the warriors den and consists of soft shrubs that have been flattened
and formed in the middle. The fresh kill pile is in the center of camp
and the highperch is a thick branch that hangs off the leaders den
and reaches out towards the center of camp.
clan territory
Oakclan has an immense span of territory, mainly due to the fact that
there have been no rivals to the clan for many, many moons. To the
north of the clan there is a thunderpath that very rarely has any
activity on it. However, the cats of the clan choose to stay far away
from it and few dare to cross. To the west of the clan the forest dies
off and turns into a wide expanse of clear meadow. The cats call the
edge of the forest their border, but they are allowed to travel into
the meadow if they please. But, despite how pretty it looks and how
much prey like mice and birds it offers, there are lots of coyotes and
large birds that patrol these areas. It is highly recommended that
only skilled warriors enter this area. To the east of the clan a river
runs through. It goes under the thunderpath and can be crossed by
the strange bridge that goes above it, but once again it is very
treacherous. The cats call the edge of the river closest to camp
their border, however much like the meadow, it is allowed to be
entered and cross. The water is slow moving, so most healthy cats
will be okay entering it. During storms, however, it often floods
over and speeds up and is deemed far to dangerous. When it starts
to rain, cats are forbidden anywhere near the river. To the south of
the clan there is an abandoned two leg building. An old stone fence
runs along the south as well and this is what the cats call their
border. The old twoleg place is fun to explore but doesn't really
offer up much of anything. There are rats there sometimes, but
they can cause more pain than pleasure. The medicine cat can find
majority of their herbs around the dense forest, but there are
some necessary ones that can only be found at the river or in the
meadow. When a medicine cat needs to take a journey to the
meadow, they must have an escort of at least two warriors with
them. There are too many dangers there to be risking the clans
medicine cat.
