What do carousel horses do when the sun sets
and everyone goes home? Do they come alive?
These ones do.



The horses in this carousel are more than they seem.
Every night they come alive and wander
the park. The carousel is in the center of a park.
The park is by a lake. Swans, ducks, and even
horses like to swim in the lake, especially in the
summer. Many people visit the carousel every
day and ride the horses.

<< No having children. >> If the owners of the carousel find more horses than they are supposed to have, there's no way to tell what they will do. It's not worth the risk. What's your name?:
Hello! My name is Wishing Star, although you can call me Wish, if you like.

What do you look like?:

My mother was an Arab, so I get my slim muzzle and legs from her. My father gave me his Thoroughbred-round barrel and thick tail. I measure 14.3hh. My coat is coloured a light, golden palomino, with a pale flaxen mane and tail and splashes of white on my hocks and my fetlocks. This, unfortunately, makes it hard to hide in the shadows of the forest. I have brown eyes.
My carousel tack jingles with tiny metal stars in bronzed gold and bright silver, and the canvas of my saddle inked an ocean blue.

What's your gender?:
I'm a mare, silly! I think you need your eyesight checked.

What's your rank?:
Well, the Midnight Carousel doesn't really have ranks, but I suppose I'd be relatively high up if we did. I like to listen to people tell me their problems, and whenever there's some new humans encroaching on our territory or something that's worrying him, Centurion and I try and puzzle it out together. I like that the horses of the Carousel can trust me with their problems, and it's nice to know that I've helped somebody out with their troubles.

Personality:
Most prominently, Wish tends to be very skittish, even more so than a usual horse with Arabian bloodlines. She can also be very shy. These traits make her very suited to staying hidden from humans in the dusk of the forest, but not so much when she's trying to be friendly in the pack. Wish also finds it very difficult to cope with small children riding her all day on the Carousel - she hates the restriction of someone sitting on her and closing her in, hates the way the children kick at her sides and yank on the reins, hates the claustraphobia of the Carousel and its monotonous circle as she stands latched to a pole in a permanent 'prancing' pose.
Wish can also be very forgetful and clumsy sometimes - sometimes she can act like a bit of a blonde. Mostly, though, she's got a cool head on her shoulders.
This mare is very giving and kind, always helping out fellow Midnighters with any problems they might have - so much so that she is sometimes called 'the Counselor'. She is very protective of her family - and she considers the whole Carousel to be her family - and will stop at nothing to protect them if any of them is ever in danger.
Sometimes, she will gaze wistfully out into the unknown and wish for a mate, to take care of her, and to play with the foals they would have someday. Wish would love to have foals, but she knows that it is forbidden, and what it would mean for the whole herd if she broke the rules.
Sometimes, as much as she loves the Carousel, she just wants to run away...
