All can agree that curiosity is humanity's worst trait. Three hundred years ago in the year 2030, one group of humans saught to create what they called "The Predator". That was a mistake. They didn't get very far, as they had only just started with three strands of foreign DNA, that of a dire wolf, a sabertoothed tiger, and one unknown. They injected the two strands into twenty different pregnant dogs. What resulted in intelligence that the scientist didn't know what to do with and strange markings that looked oddly close to Viking Runes. They grew quickly, and larger than hypothesized, soon there wasn't enough room. In an attempt to make more room, two when to kill a few. It was then that the creatures escaped, killing six of the scientists. From then on these "creatures" were known as Runic Wolves.

The humans were able to recapture all the Runic Wolves and relocate them on an island, what was once known as Tasmania. The island had been abandoned nearly five years earlier when the flora and fauna began to mutate. The Runic Wolves now live there, thriving as a single large pack. Peace isn't forever, not even with the Runic Pack, what danger shall befall them?

use some. Faults like too nice will not count.
⏵No power-playing or god-modding. This goes with the former rule,
despite the size advantage these guys are not gods or all-powerful.
No one is a great hunter, fighter AND tracker/leader/whatever.
⏵One High-rank per-person. Those ranks are Alpha, Beta, Warlord,
Marshal, and Sage.
⏵There is no character Limit, make as many as you can handle.
⏵LGBT+ Characters are allowed!
⏵Be active! Post at least once a week, and if you're going to be
gone for a while, let us know.
⏵No injuring or becoming mates with another player's character
without permission.
⏵Major plot points will be polled, have an idea, let me know and I'll
add it to the current poll.
⏵Should you break these rules, you'll get one warning, then a week
ban, and then a permanent ban.
⏵Rules may be added, removed, changed, or rephrased at my
discretion. I will announce if this has happened but please do not
complain about it.

The Runic Pack have two main densities, the first is in the most southern point of the island, the pack's campsite not far from Cockle Creek and Motts beach. The area is highly forested, filled with Fagus, and Huon pine trees. The area is home to many animals, and one can often spot a pod of whales or dolphins when at the sides of the cliffs. Prey is plentiful here, no matter the season, but that doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. As winter starts coming in the pack heads up north toward Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake. Where a multitude of lakes like Lake Hason, Crater Lake, Lake Wilks, and the twisted lakes lie near. It's a great place to find fish and distress from all the annoying seagulls.

Campsites:
Each campsite is a bit different. Up by Dove Lake, the pack lives in what used to be called Marion's Lookout. It an open area, so the pack gets lots of suns. There are a few burrows that the pack has made for the use of sleeping, and another to store food. When there the pack leaders use a few boulders to stand or sit on to make announcements and hold meetings. Down in the southern part of the territory, they make camp at the end of the rounded out Cockle Creek. Here they use hollow trees, large bushes and the occasional burrow for dens. Just out of the shade of the forest, the pack can drink some water, and pups learn to swim in the shallows.

Each rank has a specific marking, which should be placed in one of two specific places.

Alpha: ★
The Alpha symbol is that of a five-pointed star,
which can either go on the forehead or right shoulder.
The color of the star is normally either gold or the same
as the Alphas birth markings.
Beta: ✦
The Beta symbol is that of a four-pointed star,
which can either go on the forehead or left shoulder.
The color of the star is normally either silver or the same
as the beta's birth markings.
Warlord: ≛
The symbol of a Warlord is that of a five-pointed
star with two lines under it, which either goes on the right
shoulder or left cheek. The color of the star and lines are
either gold, silver, or the same color as the Warlord's birth
markings.
Marshal: ⍟
The Symbol of a Marshal is that of a five-pointed
star with the outline of a circle around it. It either goes on
the left shoulder or right cheek. The color of the star and
circle is either gold, silver, or the same as the Marshal's
birth markings.
Sage:
Sage's symbol is a bit more complicated. The eyes are
outlined, showing their ability to see and the rims of
their toes are lined to show that they walk where others can't
or won't. Their markings are either in gold, silver, or lighter
and darker than Sage's birth markings.
Medic: ✾
The Medic's symbol is that of a six-petaled flower,
three of the petals are colored, while the other three are
just outlines. This symbol is placed on either shoulder.
The color of the flower is either bright green, dark, or light
brown or the same as the medic's birth markings.
Warrior: ☾
The Warriors symbol is that of a crescent moon,
that is placed on the right hip or left shoulder. The color
of the crescent moon is either white, silver, black, or the
same as the warrior's birth markings.

Hunter: ↻
The Hunter symbol is that of an arrow going in a
circle, which is placed on the left hip or right shoulder.
The color of the arrow is either white, silver, black, or the
same as the hunter's birth markings.
Squire: ║
The Squire symbol is that of two lines diagonal to
each other, placed on either thigh. The color will match
the color of the squire's birth markings.
Saints: ☀
The symbol of a Saint is that of a Sun. A saint will
have two ranking marks, one for her original rank that she
will go back to once her pups are six months and the Saint
symbol. The symbol of a saint is on either the forehead or
either shoulder. The color of the sun will either be yellow,
gold, orange or the same color as the Saint's birth markings.
Young: │
The symbol for a youngling or just young is that of
a single line, placed on either thigh. The color will match
the young's birth markings. The marking is placed just after
the young begin to walk.
Scholars:
Scholars have no particular symbol, when they retire,
their old symbols from their past ranks will gain a line through
them. Forever marking them as retired, as a Scholar.
Rogues: 🌠
Rogues are both the few and the many. If they were
born rogues, then they will not have any markings other than
their birth markings. Though if they were born in the Runic
pack, and are exiled or chose to leave for one reason or another,
the Sage will wipe the other marking from the wolf, and add
a shooting star mark, the sign of a rogue. Small details may be
added around to do note, why a wolf has left their pack as well.
Other markings:
Not all markings are birth or Rank markings, when a
wolf has completed a great task or shows a great amount of
skill or bravery, other markings may be added. These markings
are unique and are never seen on another wolf, these markings
are usually in silver, gold, black or white.

A shiver ran down her spine as she awoke, silently taking in a sharp breath. Shaking her head, she ignored the strange dream that she'd just awoken from. Getting up the female nearly groaned, silently hoping that the dream wasn't a message from the ancients. Taking a moment the she-wolf glanced around her den, which had been the den for the pack sage sense the begining of the pack. The first sage had claimed this den the moment they saw the small glowing crystals decorating the walls and ceiling. While not very functional, the den was pretty. But it worked, the few things she needed to see were hidden away in small cracks where previous Sages had pulled out a crystal or two. Letting out a hum the she-wolf, stepped out of her den, forcing herself to smile. The outlook at dove lake was beautiful no matter the time of year, and today was no different.
Stepping towards the area where the pack stored prey, the brown and white Runic wolf picked up a large fish. Without much of a thought, she padded towards her normal eating area and began to eat. It was a bit of a ritual she had each morning. Eating a fish while watching the sunrise. It was calming. Silently she wondered if anyone would seek out her advice today. Lucas possibly. But most likely Senak. Suna frowned at the thought of the younger male, as he was so, pup-like at times. It was something he often paid for.

Waking up wasn't really one of Senak's favorite things to do. Mostly because then he had to deal with his pack-mates, some of which weren't his biggest fans, or just plain cruel. Senak much preferred his dreams and fantasy to reality. It was much easier to deal with everything in his mind. But no matter, he would always awaken when the sun shown in his eyes, blinding him momentarily when he opened his eyes. Softly groaning in pain, the male slapped one large paw over his face, before huffing. Slowly the male got to his paws, his tail dragging on the ground as he padded out of the shared hunter's den. The burrow was just large enough to fit them all, and would probably need to be widened again pretty soon. Sighing as he stepped out of the den, and into the light of the rising sun, Senak glanced around.
It would seem that only a few were awake at this point. He could count the number on his two front paws and still have claws left. Giving his jaw a lick the male glanced at the prey area, before shaking his head. Silently deciding that he should probably wait for the higher-ranking wolves to eat first. His stomach rumbled softly, and he silently hoped that Crpyress would show up at some point. She was probably back in the hunter's den, but he hadn't bothered to look.

Lucus woke up and yawned. He got up to his paws and padded out of his den. Lucus spots his sister and walks over to her. "Morning, sis", He says, How'd you sleep?" He asks her. He nods. "good". He pads away. Lucus then spots Suna and pads over. "Morning" He greets her. "Anything from the Ancients?" He asks, "Anything new?".

Chess was awake early in the morning as she was woken up by a nightmare. She tried to fall back asleep but she just couldn't. She noticed her brother walking toward her. "I slept fine" Chess lied. She nods and watches him walk away. She then looked around camp waiting for more to wake up.

The back of the Hunter's den was warm compared to the cooler weather outside. The light-grey wolf stretched out as she stepped out into the cool, morning air. Her green and blue eyes gazed across the clearing and padded to a burrow across the camp-site. There were some small scrapes of what use-to-be a wombat remaing. We should hunt soon, after the morning meal everyone will be hungry. Starring at the meat for a bit, before selecting a smaller scrape. While it was not uncommon for the Marshall to eat before her superiors, she always would leave the better pieces for them. Nodding her head to Senak as she walked by; giving permission to grab food. Cypress would need her hunters to be fed- and that food to settle before searching the territory. There would be more food later, the Alpha and Beta should not get too terribly upset.

Laying down in the corner of the camp, Cypress began to gingerly eat her piece. The would be beginning to freeze, if the pack wanted any fish they should fish first. While not a fan of swimming or the taste for fish, she would tolerate it. Maybe the south-western part of the territory would carry some pademelons.

Cypress looked around the clearing, the sun was beginning to peak out from the clouds and the cool breeze had begin to warm. There were not enough hunters out of their slumber yet. As she waited for more to arise, Cypress started counting the crumbled rocks and their patterns.
