Toga frowned, Why lie? he thougth to himself. "Sorry." Toga whispered. I wonder what's really eating him, he thought. Maybe he's upset because I snapped at him earlier, maybe....or maybe not, he thought glumly.

Wysperia barked in surprise as Shadow suddenly disappeared under a pile of leaves. "Shadow!" she cried as she raced over to the pit. "Shadow! Are you ok?"

Seiren stubled toward the entrance of the den and walked out without looking back to Namani's den. Seiren stepped carefully through the closely-weaved fern screen covering the entrance and looked at the neat piles of berries, roots, cobwebs, and other things she couldnt identify. "Namani?" she whispered, "Are you here? I need to tell you something."

Shadow said "I don't think I can get out, my leg is broken. Get a branch and I will pull myself up with my teeth."

Wysperia looked around franitically and saw a long (but badly charred) branch and grasped it between her teeth. "Grab it!" she mummbled, as she fed the branch into the pit.

Shadow latched on with his teeth and pulled as hard as he could. He was almost out when the branch snapped. He fell painfully back into the hole. He looked up and said "Try to get one that is less charred if possible."

Wysperia nodded, out of breath. He's so heavy....what's he been eating? she thought to herself. Wysperia turned around and scanned the terrain again, Please let there be more branches or something I can use! Finally, she saw a tree growning atop a huge boulder, with healthy branches she happily noted. She ran over to the tree and broke off the longest branch, ran back to the pit and fed it in slowly, "Try this one." she mummbled.

Shadow pulled with his teeth with all his might and finally got out of the hole. He collapsed on the ground panting as much from exertion as from his broken leg. "Thank you for getting me out, but how are we going to continue with me having a broken leg?" He said sounding worried.

Wysperia looked at Shadow's leg and frowned. "Maybe Sumiko can heal it!" she said hopefully.

Shadow looked hopefully at Sumiko "I can't believe I forgot about your talents. It must have been the shock of falling into that trap, I wonder who made it?"

[Samurai!]

Sumiko bent over her alpha's leg and sniffed at it studiously. She frowned, and her ears drooped.

"I can't fix it! The skin's not broken," she cried out, then raised her eyes to Shadow's. "If I bite the skin off, I can fix your bone. Do you want me to do that?" she asked, without a hint of remorse in her sweet voice.

Shadow winced thinking of the pain he would be in then desided he would let her, they couldn't get back at the water pack if he had a broken leg. "Do it, just try not to hurt me to much."
