She nodded as she understood what he meant. This was one of the only places where they could feel truly safe. Where they didnt have to hide.

"Yeah you're right about that one. But don't worry about when you transfer in, hybrids are always welcomed here. Its a safe place for us, after all." She said with a slight smile, memories of her before-academy eramplayed over in he head. She let out a silent sigh and looked back up at him.

"About the cat, well. Uh. She's probably a student's pet or just a start living on campus. She seems to like you." She told him with a more upbeat tone than before.

He seemed like a nice guy, and she seemed like a nice, but confusing, girl. Maybe she would make a freind. Maybe shed even get to meet the cat-girl in her humanoid form. She pushed those thoughts away. It wasn't very likely. Who would want tomb her freind anyways. Everybody else at this school was far nor interesting than her.

"Anyways, if I remember correctly dorm 2 should be a few hallways down near the other boys dorms. I think. I don't really.go in that wing of the school very often." She said with a small laugh, trying to not seem like a weirdo in front of a person.. in front of people she just met. She didn't want Draco to rhink that he was making her upset or anything, so she just figured it was best to try to remain happy.

Eva purred as she heard the girl speak. She was nice maybe she could help her. She leapt off Draco’s shoulders and twined herself around Lizes legs. “She’s right,” she said speaking the human tounge “I am a human. But I prefer being a cat,” she said giving a short and happy purr.

She smiled at him with her crimson lips, her sleeves glittering as he lifted her hand. He brought it to his lips, kissing her lightly.
He treated her like a queen.
She felt like she was holding a rose by its thorns. The moment so beautiful, yet it pricked at her heart. Her eyes followed his, dancing with them in the snow. His words made her eyes sting, he was speaking as if this was it. It sounded as if he didn't believe they'd see each other again for a long while. She brought a gentle finger to her ear, brushing the snowflakes that clung to her faded silver hair.
"I'd like that..."
She spoke meekly, her hand gently wrapping around his arm as they began to walk, her heart breaking a little more with each step.
"You know I'll be with you for as long as I can?"
She avoided the word 'forever', nothing lasted forever.
There was hope in her heart that flickered like a flame, that this, could last forever.

"Happily?" He laughed, "Try it for a day, I bet you'd ask for your own self back."
He smiled, behind his eyes, he was counting all the wrongs she would hate to live with. He watched what he thought was pity spark in her eyes. Her eyes dulled at the sight of him, but his face didn't change with her this time. He simply smiled, looking ahead, eyes following the glossy path ahead of them.
He listened.
They both loved the library and the peace it brought with it. It was where they met after all. He was happy for her, he was glad she was fitting in so well.
"His first time eating food?"
Murdock raised his brows, looking at her.
"I guess everyone's had their 'firsts' here." He chuckled lightly, face still showing through with disbelief. Jay must have had it worse if all he was living off of was "fake" food before he came here.
Murdock cleared his throat when she returned the question, giving her a look as if to ask if she was ready to hear what he had to say.
"I only arrived here a few nights ago, so far... I've only met you." He saw a few hybrids here and there, but all he could manage were hellos and small talk. None of those meaningless conversations really stuck in his head.
He glanced at Mina, her face reddened. He dismissed it, thinking it was the cold's doing. He caught a glimpse of the first dorm building, letting out a sigh.
"Alas we have arrived," He announced rather loudly, a smug grin creasing on his face. It beamed as he held her hand, pulling her lightly as they drifted along. He would miss tonight like the only good memories he had. Yet both would slip away with each day. It was better to forget everything.
He stepped up the steps to where he had picked her up earlier that evening, the tail of his suit jacket wavering in the wind. Now they both were at the door to her dorm. The dark wooded door, and the lights shining from within the building awaited her, but he couldn't let her leave just yet. His hand wrapped gently around hers, his pose stiffening, his eyes beginning to glance away as he stood there with her.
"Wait..." He squeaked.

The walk back to the dorm felt unbearably long. She didn’t want to leave him. As they reached the door to her dorm, he tugged onto her hand and she felt a wave of worry rush over her.

”Wait,”

Her eyes met his and she gripped his hands harder. Her mind raced with thoughts of what he was going to say or do. She couldn’t determine if this was going to be bad or good, and it made her worry.
”What? What’s wrong?”
She took a step closer to him.
”Murdock?”
She paused and tilted her head. Her brows furrowed. He seemed to be fine just a minute ago. They were talking about Jay, and the dorms. Now he seemed lost in thought. It felt like she had swallowed a rock in her throat and she felt her hands grow clammy.
”We can be together awhile longer if you’re not ready to go,”
She smiled and took both of his hands in hers.

Murdock guided his hand to her soft face, pushing back a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
Her beauty was breathtaking...
He leaned in slightly.
This felt so wrong...
He froze.
He couldn't bring his lips to hers.
It puzzled him how easy it had been for her to peck him on the cheek back at the cafe. At the moment it felt so tedious. He was terrified of hurting her, his fingers just barely touching her skin.
She was the thinnest sliver of glass to him, his touch so delicate in fear of breaking her.
His heart ticked, if he did this... What would she think of it? What would happen...?
Murdock stared, swallowing hard.
The very first year of what could be a normal life. His green gaze melted, his eyes finally making up their decision.
His eyes sealed tight, his body lurching forward, his thin lips pressing against hers.
The gates opened.
A flood of relief crashing down on him like a wave. There was no turning back, the phrase repeated franticly in his head.
It felt like eternity when he drew away, her lipstick staining his lips with a light pink print in the corner.
He sheepishly retreated, his cheeks reddening at an alarming rate.
His heart soared to the clouds, if only he could do the same right now...
"You make me do the most embarrassing things..." He stumbled back, hands catching clumsily onto the black railing.

Thomas's eyes widened a little when she told him she was a panther shifter. A panther too, what are the odds!
Though she seemed lucky to be a shifter. He was a hybrid. Or mutant, as most called him. She could hide is more easily.
He let his tail relax, no longer hiding it. It felt good to relax.
"So you can shift into a panther? Thats amazing! I only have a tail and i have panther legs. Which is probably the reason i walk a little funny..."
He grinnned at her. Not a scary grin, but a friendly one. She was nice. Nervous, but nice.
His ears picked up a horrible sound when she turned around. He pressed his hands against his ears.
"So thats why girls wear high heels... its a secret weapon! To stop on toes, to damage ears..."
He rubbed his ears, then lowered his hands and stepped into the hallway. He wrapped his tail around his waist again, to make sure no one would grab it or step on it.
"This way, princess."
He used his shoulder to get someone out of their way. He made sure she walked on the side of the wall and he kept the outside, to protect her from others bumping into her as much as he could.

She felt his body lean into hers, but he hesitated. She knew exactly what was about to happen. And she embraced it. It was all she had ever wanted since the moment she saw him. She knew there was something special from the second they began talking. The way his fingertips felt against her cheek made her body feel limp. Her cheek shifted deeper into his palm and she smiled as he moved the hair away from the frame of her face. As he leaned in further to her, she responded in sync. Her eyes fluttered closed softly with his, she felt his lips caress hers in the most gentle way. She placed her own hand onto the side of his neck. She didn’t want to let go. Everything about the moment was exactly how she imagined it would be. But before she knew it he was gone from the embrace. She saw that she had left a stain on the side of his lip and smiled.
”Oh, sorry.”
She chuckled, licking the tip of her thumb to remove the pink gloss. She had no doubts about where they would go now from here. He had just given her all the confirmation she would ever need. And it left her feeling fuzzy inside.
”That wasn’t so bad was it?”
No matter what, she couldn’t help but to make a joke. It made the air lighter between them, even though she felt completely comfortable in his presence. Even if the timing wasn’t always right, he accepted them every time. It was almost like a coping mechanism for her.
”How am I supposed to not miss you now?”
Finally her cheeks met the red that his were. To see him stumble due to his own nervousness, all because of her made her blush. She felt so honoured to be chosen by someone. To have someone who felt the same way as she did for once. And it was true, she would miss him. She always did. Even if they were together, the thought of them parting made her heart ache.

Draco watched the girl across from him carefully, but seemed to be completely at ease as she spoke. The white-haired boy's eyes softened completely, and he gave her a kind look- although he didn't know what she had been through, and didn't think it would be okay to ask, he knew firsthand that the world wasn't kind to.. hybrids.
Seeing her try so hard, he found himself doing the same, and the corner of his mouth tilted up in a semblance of the faintest smile.
"Thank you very much, Miss Liz, I appreciate your helping me."
He seemed on the verge of saying something else, likely planning to offer to escort her to her own dorm, when the cat leapt off of his shoulders, and began to speak.
In a flash, the gentle, friendly boy was gone. Draco's eyes were pure white, and he had taken a step back, his entire body tensed up and threatening. That wasn't the biggest change, though... the biggest change was the pale bat-like wings that burst through the previously unnoticed slits in the back of his shirt, and now were held up, yet slightly curled, extremely menacingly. The boy now seemed very much larger than his height, and his gaunt figure gave off a feeling of strength and danger previously unknown.
Of course, these changes happened in only a moment, and it took only a few moments for Draco to realize what he had done- after all, his owl had launched himself up, then screeched terrifyingly at Draco the moment he had acted as such. As soon as he was aware, Draco quickly let his wings fold against his back, and his eyes slowly faded back to normal. He attempted to relax his posture as well. Draco looked quite ashamed of himself, and would no longer meet the girls' eyes as he spoke-
"Forgive me... I'm afraid I wasn't expecting that.."
He shuffled slightly, all traces of his threatening aura now gone. He was sure he had just screwed up his chances of making friends at this new school, and was already beating himself up over it.
Had he not thought it would be rude to leave abruptly, especially after what he had just done, there was no doubt that Draco would've run.

Sophie shifted into her human form clothes magically appearing on her. “I’m sorry to startle you,” she bowed her head “I-i-i feel more comfortable in my cat I’m sorry,” she said as she looked at the boy her green eyes booting into his. “Cats are just simpler creatures, I’m sorry for deceiving you,” she gave a small sad smile. “You probably wouldn’t want to talk to me at all now but...” she paused picking up a few blades of grass. Her delicate small hands flew around them until she had formed a grass sculpture of Home “please take this as a token of friendship,” she said offering it to him. She did not have a sculpting ability but used to play with her fathers sculptures as a child. It made her awfully good at sculpting.

She watched as Draco transformed into what seems to be his other form. She was confused to why the cat girl, her name was like Sophie or something, didn't seem to notice his change. Her ears flicked nervously, but soon relaxed as everyone calmed down.

"I'm sorry as well. I knew she was one of us, but she didn't want me to tell you." She said to him. She knew what the girl felt, feeling better in a certain form. She always felt better in her human shape though. Her parents taught her that it was "safer" and "more normal". Yet at this point, she didn't know if they knew what normal really was.

"Are you, um, ok?" She asked. It may have sounded like it was to Draco in particular, but it was infact for both shifters beside her. She shuffled her feet a bit as her tail remained still and pinned to her legs. She hoped that this tension wouldn't last.


(I realize the circumstances on who can see him when he shifts, Liz has a bit of backstory that I plan to work into the story)
