coast, coastalclan is a very spiritual
and graceful clan. they believe that
they are starclan's favorite clan,
every season they collect seashells
and sea glass as offerings for their
ancestors. the clans herbalist
interprets signs based off of the
way the ocean's waves hit the
short as well as storm. three
moons ago tidalstar received a
warning from starclan of a
horrible hurricane approaching,
can coastalclan survive the
hurricane or will they be wiped out?

Ｃｏａｓｔａｌｃｌａｎ＇ｓ Ｔｅｒｒｉｔｏｒｙ

the camp: located just near the ocean's shore, the cliffs have large caves at the bottom where
the clan's camp is hidden safe away from twolegs and intruders. in the largest cave lies the
highledge where tidalstar makes his announcements, moss overhangs along the rocks making
it easy to gather moss for the clan's bedding. there are several caves where every clan member
sleeps, just beyond the largest cave is a smaller cave that has a small lake. before kit's become
apprenticed they must learn how to swim in the lake, it also is a good spot for the apprentice's
to hunt for salmon and carp. there is a incline that leads to the very top of the mountain where
the overlook hangs.

carp river: a brisk walk from the camp leads to the carp river. this is a freshwater river with a
fast current that leads into the ocean. large stepping stones lie all throughout the river allow
for easy fishing through the territory. while the clan is used to swimming all cats must take
caution since the current is so fast.

the shore: this long strip of land is home to prime hunting grounds for coastalclan. cats here have
grown used to eating crabs. the shore can be dangerous during storms where the tide goes out
much farther. occasionally seals and otters will rest along the shore, the clan must be careful
approaching the two predators as they are not friendly to the clan cats. jellyfish can be seen
from the water which is usually interpreted as a sign from starclan of good fishing.

the overlook: past the camp lies a steep hill. the steep hill filled with sand and rocks, once
climbed, it looks high up over the ocean. just behind the overlook is an entrance to the camp
a rocky incline that is lined with moss and stone.

the forest: along the ocean lays a pine forest that is often covered in fog and rain, the clan
often hunts in the forest as well as the ocean. the herbologist has a small area that is hidden
among the bracken where they plant their herbs for the clan.

ｔｒａｄｉｔｉｏｎｓ ＆ ｂｅｌｉｅｆｓ
coastalclan is very spiritual and have lots of
traditions for starclan; they see jellyfish as
messengers from starclan. whenever the clan
see's one it calls for a celebration as it means
good hunting for the season.

every moon the clan gets together to add
decorations to their clanmates fur, they use
feathers (not behind ear), flowers, herbs,
moth wings, seaweed and whatever else they
can find among the ocean shore and forest.
every clan member has something in their
fur that has a specific meaning.


the clan believes that decorating their camp will bring good fortune for the storms to pass, the elders often are the ones to decorate the camp with seashells, seaweed, sea glass and feathers often taking walks on the shore to gather the resources needed.

the apprentice's warrior silent vigil is sitting on the outlook and spends the night watching the ocean for any dangers that may threaten the clan. once the night is over they mark the entrance with a muddy paw print, the wall long the incline is covered with paw prints signifying the moons and moons of cats that have come before.


the clan often votes via rocks, tidalstar value's all of the clan's opinions and often ask the clan for advice and to help find an outcome that best suits the clan. a clan member can have a meeting with tidalstar to bring an issue to attention and the clan can vote to fix the problem.

when the bio-luminescent shines through the night the clan will meet along the ocean's shore and swim into the blue glow and yowl to silverpelt calling to their ancestors as they feel this is this closest they can get to being among their loved ones.

tidalstar: "If there are three things that each Clan has in common, it would have to be our loyalty to our loved ones, our devotion to the warrior code, and our sense of duty to our Clans. Some cats exercise these things by becoming warriors, laying their lives on the line for seasons at a time to defend their Clan with their power and virtue. Other cats exercise these things by becoming medicine cats, using their outstanding knowledge of herbs, and their close relationship to our ancestors, to heal the sick and make strong the weak. But some of us have other callings. Not all cats live to fight or live to heal--some simply live to maintain the peace. They work not with their claws, but with their words, ensuring the safety of all Clans. (Apprentice), you have shown me that you possess the skills necessary to bring everyone together at times of hostility, skills of which can only be fitting to a selected few. Do you promise to be the voice of reason for coastalclan, to create paths that link us together with one Clan to the next, in times of terror and times of distrust, instead of setting us apart?"

tidalstar: "Then, with StarClan as my audience, may this name I bestow upon you be a reflection of your harmony and goodwill. (Apprentice), from this day forward, you will be known as (new name). Nobody can deny that the Clans will always change, and the coastalclan of today may not be the same coastalclan of tomorrow. But, either way, I know you have enough respect for each cat, no matter which Clan they come from, to guarantee fairness for all. Congratulations. I welcome you as a full mediator of clan."
