Sootnose slipped out of the warrior's den alongside her brother her eyes falling on her assigned mate, she narrowed them, bitter resentment filled her gaze before she looked away forcing her brother to move as far away from Smoketail as possible. Her ears twitched lightly as she heard her brother send a hiss in Smoketail's direction. Sootnose felt an immeasurable amount of guilt fill her heart. She didn't like to resent others, she didn't like to feel so much bitterness and disgust.. But she felt it every time she looked at Smoketail and sometimes when she looked at Ashstar... She'd had dreams.. She wanted to be a queen.. Have kits.. But all that had been crushed. And she couldn't help but resent them both for it. She couldn't even bring herself to talk to Smoketail, she knew all that awaited her was rejection. Why would anyone want to go face that? She'd believed in the old ways before this but now she was firmly against it. Another thing that caused her guilt, what would her mother think should she still be here and alive? Her mother had praised rules and traditions until the day she took her last breath. But she kept it in, forcing herself to swallow it all and just focus on other aspects of her life. Not everyone got to have love or be loved.. And she'd just have to accept that and be happy with what she had. Like her apprentice Nightpaw! She sent a glance towards the apprentice's den figuring he was still inside. A small smile formed on her face, she'd let him have a few more moments before she'd go get him. You only got to be an apprentice once.

Shadowstep made his way out of the warrior's den, weariness making it feel like his paws weighed a thousand pounds. He lifted his head up slowly, following his sister's gaze over to Smoketail. He let out a hateful warning hiss before he moved with Sootnose to the other side of camp. Shadowstep was a grump, he'd always been a grump, but he let it be well known he hated Smoketail. Shadowstep was very protective of his sister, she was his only sister after all. Flicking his tail dismissively he sat down beside her and began to groom his pelt. Unlike her his thoughts weren't consumed by guilt or unhappiness. As he honestly didn't find Hazelmoon even remotely repulsive like he found his sister's assigned mate. She was beautiful and seemed very genuine. That didn't necessarily mean he thought it was true love but he was willing to work with her on it if she wanted. If not what could he do? You couldn't make someone love you. So his thoughts remained on simple grooming and how tired he was. What he thought he might have to do today.. As tired as he felt he hoped to get called for a patrol, if nothing else at least it could wake him up and give him something to do today.. He felt a small nudge from Sootnose and looked up, following her gaze now to Hazelmoon. Oh so she'd spotted her before he had.

Rainypaw was an early riser today, though honestly she was an early riser every single day of her life. Even as a kit she was the first of the three siblings to be awake and ready to go for the day. Her tail moved slowly behind her as she crept forward before she bounced forward, pouncing on her brother "Get up! You're going to miss out on training!" she cried. "You're not even my mentor!" her brother snapped back. Rainypaw shrugged "He's already awake." she replied simply as she got to her paws and slipped out of the apprentice's den. Her eyes sparkling with excitement as she looked around "Over there!" she said pointing with her tail as Stormypaw exited the den beside her. She ignored his huff as she let out a purr "Be sure to tell me all the cool things you learn Stormy, I can't wait to hear your stories." she wanted her littermates to stay close. So she always wanted to talk about what they'd done that day and what they'd learned. Her gaze traveled over to the medicine cat's den. "I don't know if Firewillow is up yet but I can go with you until she needs me." she said before she trotted over to Lionfang. "Good morning Lionfang!" she called out cheerfully.

Stormypaw practically groaned as his sister went forward towards his mentor. He trailed after her slowly, sometimes he wondered if their roles should have been switched and she should have been the warrior. He dipped his head to Lionfang "Good morning." he said softly. He glanced at his sister as if her words finally reached him, Lionfang had been up before him.. Had he been waiting on him? He tried not to show how nervous he suddenly was, he hoped he hadn't kept him waiting and let him down. Maybe Rainypaw had been right to wake him up, a lot of other cats did seem to already be awake and doing things.. His yellow gaze focused on Lionfang as he tried to push those thoughts out of his head. If he'd done something wrong Lionfang would let him know so there was no need to stress over it until then. "Are you waiting for the patrols?" he asked turning his head to look around for the deputy but he couldn't seem to spot them, oh well.
