Flarepaw was happy to get a hit on his mentor, all though it did not do any thing. I've go to make it quicker and stronger he thought. He quickly dashed in and tried to hook Grayfeathers legs from under her ready if she dodges.

Grayfeather gasps and stumbles as her legs were hooked by his paws. She thought for a moment, laying there when she suddenly realised that she was vulnerable in her position. But Grayfeather was slow to get up onto her paws again.

Flarepaw saw an opportunity, and dove for Grayfeathers belly and raked his paws through her belly claws sheathed of course, but if they were unsheathed it could have caused some real damage, even killed her, but she was still going easy on Flarepaw through the whole spar.

Grayfeather kicked him away with her hind legs and scrambled to her paws. She was starting to pant slightly, which would make it easier for him to attack. She shook out her pelt and stared him, pretending to be threatening.

Flarepaw could see that Grayfeather was getting tired, he acted like he was going for the hook again and the when Grayfeather was about to counter it this time he jumped to the right and slammed into her side.

Grayfeather didn't last very long on her paws as Flarepaw slammed into her side. The force and heavy landing took the remaining breath out of her. "Maybe we should take a break," she panted, sitting up. "You were great! You're learning very quickly," she exclaimed once her breath recovered.

¨Thanks!¨ said Flarepaw happy for his mentors praise. ¨That was fun.¨ Flarepaw looked up, ¨The rain stopped I think, do you think we could try hunting, I know it would be hard tracking prey with the rain, but it could be good practice.¨

Grayfeather dips her head, her green eyes sparkling. "Sure," she mews. "I'll show you the hunting crouch now, so we won't have to panic when we find prey," she explained, instinctively dropping into the hunter's crouch, with her tail tucked to her side. "You try," she stood, watching over him.

"Good," she purred. Grayfeather nudged his paws closer to his body. "This will give you a stronger jump, it will also take you further." Grayfeather scanned the clearing, and bounded away and snagged a leaf with a claw. "The leaf will act as prey to practice on. The wind as you know will take it, so you have to be quick and smooth."
