What if you had the chance to do it all again?

Cats in MoonClan have experienced both life and death. Every cat in
the Clan is either on the side of good or evil, there is no in between.
It's up to the cat themselves to decide their path; but what must be
taken into consideration is that of their past lives. They must figure
out who they once were, and who they are destined to become.

Each cat is reborn once, reappearing at the place they died before
living their final life. They each remain the same age in which they
died. Some never know how they did happen to die. Some never know
who they once were; if they were good or evil. The second life is what
is important, for they have the decision that could change the Clan.

Every cat in the Clan has lived more than one life, and no one knows why this is. The Clan just assumes
that it's StarClan giving them a second chance to either prove themselves as evil or good. The war has
already ended before it has begun, and none of the Clan cats remember a single part of it. They don't
even remember which side they were on. Awhile ago, there were two Clans, that went to war against
each other. In the end, the surviving cats formed MoonClan, and to this day it's difficult to determine
who they can or can't trust. After each cat has lived their second life and died once more, they do not
get another life. They only get one other chance to prove themselves as loyal to their ancestors. Most
of the time, cats will reappear where they died at and will remain the same age. Sometimes, though,
that is not the case, but only on extremely rare occasions. None of the Clan will remember how the
new cat died or which side they were on, but they will remember a little about them such as their
name and who they were close to.

The Clan doesn't know why any of this is happening. All they do from dawn until dusk is search for the
answers to all of the many questions they have. StarClan is being controlled by the Dark Forest and it's
out of their control to help MoonClan. Due to this, the Clan cats are suffering in ways that are only of
imagination. There is a hidden cave far away from MoonClan's territory that leads to where the spirits
of their ancestors are trapped. Each full moon, the cats that are destined to go on the journey to save
the Clan's fur shines brightly just like the moon does against the darkness of the night. Some of them
have noticed this, but have decided it was best to ignore it. However, soon there will be yet another
prophecy delivered that will tell them the meaning behind all of this.

[ 1. ] Lionstar, the current leader, is being controlled by the Dark Forest.
[ 2. ] Before the Clan was thrown into a new state out of their own will, they were very close to
their warrior ancestors, which gave them the name of MoonClan. After all, the moon is close
to the stars. The gathering was also made because they had high respect for the moon.
[ 3. ] There will be one chosen kit that is born with their eyes closed, but they will
not open like the other kits. Instead, their eyes will open when the Clan leader announces
that this cat will be the next to rule the Clan. This is how the Clan leaders are chosen, a
process made by StarClan themselves so that MoonClan could know that they were always
watching over them. However, sometimes, the wrong cat might be chosen and if that is the
case then horrible omens will start to happen. It isn't the cat's fault, but StarClan, for making
a mistake. This process for choosing the leader has gone back to the beginning of MoonClan.
[ 4. ] Deputies are appointed to aid the leader. Also, if the leader does happen to die
and there is no chosen cat then the deputy will then step up. This is rare but it does happen.
[ 5. ] The warrior assessments involve having to swim across a lake known as Sapphire Lake
and then reaching an island known as the Island of Lost Souls. That's where the spirits give their
approval if the said apprentice has reached the destination and succeeded. Then the spirits will
give the apprentice a task and the apprentice will have to travel through the Forest of No Return.
Later, however, the Clan will hold a regular ceremony. The warrior assessment is very important.
[ 6. ] In the Clan there are two medicine cats and two medicine cat apprentices. This is due
to there being the sun and the moon, and in the beginning of the Clan each medicine cat was said
to represent each of these. However, to this day they don't represent them but carry the tradition.
[ 7. ] Cats in MoonClan sometimes sleep out in the clearing so that they can be closer to both
the moon and StarClan themselves. However, this is usually only when the moon is at its fullest.
[ 8. ] MoonClan is located in a province in Canada known as Alberta and is based off of there.
(For more information regarding where MoonClan is located, please review the territory section!)
[ 9. ] Although the appearances of many cats in the Clan vary, most of them fit certain qualities due
to their environment and how they have adapted. They have long claws to help them climb, most are
sand or rock-colored though some are not, they have a good sense of direction, and most of them are
talented at climbing as well as jumping over cliffs and rocks. After all, they settled in the mountains.
[ 10. ] It is a custom in MoonClan to not allow a warrior to mentor unless they are at least 30 moons.
However, there are a few exceptions (ex.a shortage of warriors or the leader trusts the warrior)

Some of MoonClan is being controlled by the Dark Forest. A certain dream is given to certain cats, and once
they follow after the leader of the dark forest in that dream; they are under their control. Due to this, the
leader is ruthless and under the Dark Forest's control. They aren't able to make their own decisions, and in-
stead, the cats in the dark forest make them for them. Soon enough there will be no cats left because there
won't be a Clan to begin with. This must be stopped; and there are certain cats that are supposed to do so.

A prophecy has been delivered to the Clan, which was difficult since the spirits of their warrior ancestors (Star
Clan) are trapped inside of a cave far away from their territory. The prophecy foretells that there are seven
in the Clan that are supposed to travel to the cave to free StarClan. These seven are among the few that are
not able to be controlled by the dark forest. Their pelts glow in the moonlight at every full moon, showing it
is them that are destined to save their warrior ancestors and the Clan all together.

The prophecy is as follows:
"Beware, for the moon shall falter and with it comes death. The war from the past hasn't been put to an end;
for the battle still remains. Those that are innocent shall be lost to the claws of the deadly unless the chosen
reach the spirits before the time of the endless eclipse."

Meaning behind the prophecy:
As long as the seven chosen cats reach the cave where StarClan spirits are trapped in time, the moon will not
fall (MoonClan won't be destroyed). They have until the eclipse which is several moons from now to set out to
find them and go on a journey. The war that is mentioned refers to the battle between the two Clans before
MoonClan was formed. In the prophecy, it mentions the war to state that there is yet another war that they
are involved in, yet they are unaware of that. Each day, the Dark forest grows stronger, which is why it is very
important to reach the cave before it is too late; and the moon is covered and forgotten.

ＢＡＳＩＣxＩＮＦＯ

MoonClan territory is situated in Canada, specifically the providence by the name of Alberta. Although the territory is highly based off of that specific area, it is not exact in every little detail. They do not live on the mountain, however, they find shelter in the pine forests surrounding it and sometimes venture onto the mountain (though not by much). The mountain that they live near is known as Mount Brazeau Jasper. However, as mentioned previously, you have to take into account that this is a fictional roleplay and therefore the area in this roleplay isn't exactly like the area in real life. For instance, in this roleplay there aren't twolegs around (or at least, not as many). The mountain also isn't located inside of a national park. Imagine it as the exact mountain it is based off of, though there just isn't much twoleg activity happening. The pine forests that they find their home in are surrounded by a large lake that is based off of the real-life version of Maligne Lake. For the most part, the temperature in their territory is quite cold, which is why a lot of the Clan have long-furred pelts (though the ones that don't are well adapted to the temperature from previous ancestors).

ＯＵＴＳＩＤＥxＣＡＭＰ

Forest of No Return: This area consists primarily of oak trees that the Clan cats aren't well-suited to. However, this is the place used for warrior assessments. After the apprentice has the approval of their warrior ancestors at the Island of Lost Souls, they are given a task by their warrior ancestors and are to travel to the Forest of No Return to complete that task. It might relate to solving a trouble in their past through a dream, finding a certain object, or something else. Whatever the task may be, they are not obliged to share that information with anyone except for the leader and medicine cats; and only if it is important enough that they need to share it. The Forest of No Return has a tale behind it, which gave it the name that it has to this day. That tale is for another time, though. Another thing about this section of their territory is that they do in fact hunt here, but only on rare occasions, such as the prey running low or given as an order by the leader/deputy.

Island of Lost Souls: The Island of Lost Souls is situated just beside the Forest of No Return, but a river separates the two. This island is surrounded on all sides by water and is the place for apprentices to go while completing their warrior assessment. They must first swim across a lake of water (which is harmless because the tides are low) and then continue their assessment by hunting or as instructed by their mentor. Then the spirits of their warrior ancestors grant them the approval of becoming a warrior and they are to then complete another task in the Forest of No Return. The apprentices are granted approval by going to the Crystal Cave (the place where they share with StarClan. Basically like the Moon Pool or Moonstone) and touching their nose to the pool of water. It is then that they fall into a sleep and share a dream with their ancestors.

Sapphire Lake: It is located just before the Island of Lost Souls and it is what the apprentices have to swim across in order to become a warrior. Not only that, but the cats of MoonClan can find prey here as well as enjoyment of swimming in the water and collecting water for cats in the Clan.

Rocky Falls: Along the main river that flows throughout the territory is a waterfall in which a pile of rocks is settled beside of it. This is a very dangerous spot for young cats such as apprentices to go near to, as the settlement of the rocks could easily have one fall in. Therefore, those who do near it are cautious of it. Aside from the rocky falls, close by are many caverns in which hold a tunneling system throughout the territory. It holds many wonders and to this day not many are brave enough to set paw beyond the entrance. Most are forbidden to go alone, especially apprentices, unless escorted by a more experienced warrior.

ＴＲＡＩＮＩＮＧxＡＲＥＡＳ

Hollow Hills: A meadow that has plenty of place for running practice, battle combat training, or hunting in general. This area is used mainly to train apprentices, though warriors do occasionally hunt here as well. This is a better place to train than in the forest due to the vast amount of open space.

Eagle Point: An area at the edge of the meadow (Hollow Hills) that is a tall cliff used to practice climbing skills. Though, it is very dangerous if an apprentice goes near the edge since they could easily slip and fall, so it is advised not to do so.

Marshes: Frogs and lizards can be found here if you know where to look. Be careful of the mud, though, since once you are stuck it is often difficult to get your way out of it. Apprentices are trained to hunt in this specific area since it has source of prey that the rest of their territory doesn't have to offer, and this is also a great hunting area.

Twisted/Twin Trees: An area in which two trees are twisted together. Often used for apprentices to practice their climbing skills. It has also been given the nickname of "Twin trees" so either name would refer to this specific place. In particular, the trees situated here are taller than most others which is why they practice climbing specifically there.

MoonClan takes residence inside of the gorge within their territory. A visual view of their camp is similar to this. Their camp is easy to defend and hard to attack as well as a safe distance away from any life of twolegs. Bedding for nests consist of mostly natural materials, though there are a few exceptions. It might involve small animal pelts, feathers, hay, nettles, and moss. As for the non-natural materials, it can involve found items such as cloth or cotton balls. Though, that is not very common, seeing as twolegs don't visit often.

Leader's den: The leader's den is positioned higher than the rest of them. It is a deep cave, similar to the rest of the dens in camp. It is smaller than the rest since it's only suited for a couple of cats. The leader of MoonClan sleeps in this den.

Warrior's den: This is the largest den of them all. It's located to the right of the leader's den but is positioned just a bit lower. Warriors of MoonClan sleep in this den.

Nursery: The nursery is where queens and kits stay. It is just below the warrior's den for protection against predators/threats.

Apprentice's den: Where apprentices stay, which are cats in the Clan anywhere from six to around fifteen moons. It is located towards the floor of the gorge, just below the nursery and the warrior's den.

Elder's den: This den is located underneath the warrior's den. It is placed somewhat near the warrior's den so that the elders that stay here can easily be protected against the predators and threats.

Medicine Cat den: Where the medicine cats and the medicine cat apprentices stay. At the back of the cave is a pool of water that is often used for those who are in need of it, such as sick or injured patients. Along with the nests that the medicine cats stay in,
there are a few nests for those who need it. In the back of the den moss can also be found growing against the wall.

High-rock: It's located at the floor of the gorge and is a rock that the leader uses to announce important news and ceremonies.

Fresh-kill pile: Located between the warrior's den and the nursery and is in the middle of all den's. They can easily share tongues where the fresh-kill pile is located because the cliff is especially wide in that specific area.

Many moons ago, before the time when their ancestors roamed the skies, there were
two Clans. These Clans were known as SunClan and MoonClan, each named after their
founders who were said to rule both the sun and moon. Then, it was the time of the
eclipse, and the two Clans fought for survival. There wasn't enough prey to go around
under this certain eclipse of the sun and moon, and all cats from both Clans were only
suffering more as the days grew pass.

War soon broke out, and the Clans clashed against one another. Eventually, the only
remaining were of MoonClan, and it was then that the moon shone more brightly than
ever before, for it was no longer trapped behind the sun.

That's how the MoonClan of today has came to be, but how did the two original Clans
begin, you ask? Well...

MoonClan and SunClan descended from the mountains. It is said that their ancestors
once were of larger breed; such as tigers, lions, and leopards, which was one of the
reasons why they were able to adapt to such a harsh environment. However, as time
grew pass, the cats grew weaker, leading them to search for new territory. It was then
that MoonClan and SunClan found the forest down below from the mountains they once
called home. The territory wasn't enough for the both of them to share, and cats were
slowly dying from starvation. Then the war broke out, and now only MoonClan is left.

It is forbidden to use the prefix of "Moon" because of the great respect they have toward
the moon. However, the prefix of "Sun" is able to be used.

Leaders were received with the suffix of "star" because of the many stars that spent their
nights in the skies along with the moon. It was the reason their warrior ancestors were
named StarClan as well.

There are two medicine cats in honor of the two Clans that once roamed the forest as well
as the sun and the moon that roam the skies.
