The small mottled brown and silver shecat stepped out of the darkness of the healer's den into the light cave filled with shimmering crystals. She lashed her tail slightly, but was glad to see no one was lined up with complaints of a sore paw or anything like that. She padded outside by the river to gather some watermint. She lapped up a tiny bit of water, tasting the crisp, cool water as it flowed lightly by her. The chilly autumn air brushed against her fur before she picked the stalks of watermint, waiting for something to happen. She prayed silently that a SkyClan cat wouldn't yell at her for being close to the border.

xxxthe black of his pelt made it easy for him to sink into the shadows. the shadows were his home. they protected him from the heat of the day that bore down on his heat-attracting pelt. now, however, the heat was the least of his worries. in fact, it felt more-so chilly in the autumn air. his round, endless yellow eyes peeked out from the brush. the sounds of drinking made his antenna-like ears swivel on their base, leaning towards the source of the noise. he ducked under the nearest branch, inching forward slowly as if he was hunting prey. lean muscle rippled under his glossy black coating, undisturbed by the fatigue lingering in his bones. he positioned himself in a dip of the ground, pressing against the dirt and grass underneath him for cover. what he saw before him was no surprise.

xxxwillow. the apprentice healer of skyclan's rival. back to stealing more herbs, i see. the whole lot is composed of theives. he thought to himself, anger seething in his mind like a boiling skillet. the arguments over the river were well-known between the two clans. nightsky, of course, believed the river to be rightfully in the paws of skyclan. his pleas for future battles fell on deaf ears, wishing to prove to feralclan that they were not to be messed with in any such manner. mercy was not a word to be taken lightly. mercy was a gift that needed to be begged for, and feralclan was standing their ground.

xxxnightsky, feeling as if willow was not much of a threat, rose from his hiding spot under the canopy of trees. he strolled out towards the edge of the river, doing his best to keep his pelt from bristling in agitation. his mind was overcome with his grievances against feralclan. he thought of the clan to be more of a nuisance, a tick he could not reach for example. he decided to outright confront the medicine cat apprentice, perhaps strike some fear into her for his own amusement. "stealing herbs again? or perhaps the water too?" he stated with a smirk, settling down on the rocky pebbles lining the shore.
