"Yes we can!" She meowed looking around for a place to bury him, "I should have tried harder, I shouldn't have stopped. I should have kept going until that creature died." She murmured to herself.

Silver tugged at her father's scruff, not being able to move him. "See? I can't do it! That means none of us can!" She sat down, letting out a wail.

She let out a growl of frustration, we could move him if we worked together. I could try to lift him by his scruff, you could hind him up in the middle and Maple could carry him by his legs. She turned and looked around again before finding a spot beside a tree trunk where a circle of sunlight shone down. Without thinking she dug her claws into the ground and began to tear away at the earth.

Silver looked over at Mist as she padded off and after a little, followed her sister. She silently dug beside the she-kit, occasionally licking the dirt out from between her toes.

She kept digging refusing to stop even when her claws began to ache painfully, she scooped away pawful after pawful of soil the mount behind her growing as she continued to dig.

She finished her vole and found a small patch of sunlight to lay down in. The apprentice stretched out and closed her eyes as she enjoyed the feeling of the sun warming her pale cream fur.

Silver digged alongside her sister before she stopped, watching Mist dig before she gently laid her tail on her sister's back. "Mist," she meowed, shoving her emotions aside for her sister. "You need to stop. This is deep enough."

Reluctantly Mist stepped away dirt trapped between her claws. "Let's bring him over here. He can lay in the sunlight." She meowed walking back over to her father. Please let this be a dream! He can't be dead!

Silver helped her sister drag their fathers body over to the grave. Her chest twitched with grief as she tried to hold back tears.
