Shadow was fuming. How could her so-called new friends be so mean? She was only trying to keep everything calm and in order.
She silently sat by the cave door to eavesdrop on their conversation.

[Sidewind]

"I dunno" Swipe replied. "I guess we will just have to fend for ourselves"

Shade stood up and shook her wings " I guess there will be a leader soon," Shade said a bit louder, she could smell shadow listening. "But right now i'm of to hunt." She told them and padded out of the cave giving Shadow a wolfy smile. Shade then started to run deep into the forest making sure no one was following her.

Seeing Shade smile at her gave Shadow new confidence. She took a deep breath and walked back in.
"Right," she said, "if you don't like me, sorry but I'm staying."
She sat down and began licking her paws.

Shade soon saw a rabbit hopping throug the trees, she stay still waiting for the right moment. A twig snapped and the rabbit darted away, rushing footsteps were coming closer to Shade. She padded slowly in the direction she came, there were voices coming from the bushes. Shade started to run then she heard a shot from a gun, she started to feel tired and she dropped to the ground. Before the darkness took over Shade she saw humans from the lab looking down at her.
