"You drew.. me?" Onyx stopped in his tracks. No one ever drew him. Nobody
thought he was important enough. "Woah, thank you! It really looks like me!"
Onyx carefully pushed the drawing into his backpack. "Hey, I think those are
footprints! Let's follow them, they might be Mateo's!" he said, grabbing
Avery's hand and pulling her along.

"U-Uh yeah I drawed you, uh is that okay? Sorry I prolly should have asked before I did so."Avery looked down, somewhat embarrassed. "Oh my gosh I hope it is, although I hope we don't find him soon, I kinda wanna spend the night in thr forest! As long as there's no thunder and lightning." She took a few extra steps, making sure to keep up with his longer strides. "Poor Mateo he's prolly freaking out, either that or he's completely calm. Hey have you ever been to the beach?" She looked up at him, curious. Her whole family naturally had blue eyes, Avery was blessed with pale blue eyes, blue enough to make it look like she was staring right into her soul. Like the ocean and sky had met and had a baby. That was the color of her eyes.

"Oh, no, it's alright! I really like the art." Onyx exclaimed. "I kind of
agree with you. I love camping in the forest!" He stopped when Avery
looked at him. "Yeah, I've been to the beach before. But only once. It
isn't my.. favourite place." he said, suddenly noticing that Avery had
pale blue eyes. "Hey, Avery? Did you know you have really blue eyes?"
he asked, mentally facepalming. "I mean, I've never noticed that."

"Oh uh yeah I did realize that. Everyone in my family has blue eyes, mine are just the most pale blue. Dunno why, but for deer I thought I ahould have brown eyes, not blue ones." Avery half pouted and looked away. "So uh what do we do if we can't find him? Will we get in trouble? To be honest, I've never had to search for someone before, I don't really know what I'm doing." She looked towards her feet, embarrassed and feeling a bit sheepish. "Out of all of us I don't know why Scarlett would have shosen me, your'e the most logical and smartest that could prolly actually find him. Not sure why she picked me."

"Don't say that." Onyx mumbled. "I think you look, uh, nice with blue
eyes." he said, his face turning various shades of red. "Avery, it's
going to be okay. We'll find Mateo." he put a reassuring hand on his
friend's shoulder. "She chose you because you're a good friend. You
understand people; you feel worried about Mateo. Being worried
and being a good friend like you helps more than I ever could." he said,
confused (and a little dizzy) of where these words came from.

Averys jaw dropped and her eyes widened as he started his speech. "W-Wow uh thanks? And I really do hope we find him, I'd rather not be a failure." She looked away, hoping he wouldn't see the rather upset look on her face. "Are you okay? You look rather dizzy. "

"Y-yeah. I'm perfectly fine." Onyx grinned crookedly. He didn't want to admit
that he was actually feeling sick. His face turned magenta, then deep purple.
"Uh.. okay, maybe I do need some medicine." Onyx shrugged, a sheepish look
on his face. "I have some headache medicine in there. Could you get it?" he
pointed to his backpack. "It's the little pink bottle."

"Oh yeah, sure. Is there soemthing wrong?" Avery quickly slid her own backpack off, down to the ground. Unzipping his backpack, she dug around for a moment before she found what she had been looking for. "Here it is. Do you need to sit down?" She asked as she led him towards a downed tree. "You look a wee bit light headed."

Onyx's phone suddenly rang, the sped up version of Bunny Party playing.
He cringed. His cousin Amaris had chosen it, and now he didn't know
how to remove it. "Uh.. ignore that, please." he shook his head.
He felt much better when he drank the medicine in the bottle Avery
had given to him. Smiling gratefully, he got up and motioned for them
to continue the hunt for Mateo.

“Shoot dang.. Nice ringtone.” Avery nodded as she grinned. “You sure you feel alright? We can stop and chill for a minute, don’t want you to kill your self or something like that. If you pass out, I seriously doubt I could carry you, let alone drag you anywhere.” She joked quietly followed him from behind, one of her soft, doe ears twitching once in awhile. “What if Mateo isn’t even really missing?”
