"The Night Summons Like an Unquenched Love, Reckoning With The Promise of Dark Desire"

Once Upon A time~ there were no things that went bump in the night- the shadows and the monsters and the like were never found beneath the light of the moon; or so its thought. But no matter the origins, everything has to have begun somewhere, right? And so it was for the vampires, founded by a single vampire. Some called him the King of the Night. Others called him a Demon. But the name he went by most was " The Progenitor". As far as anyone knew, he was the first vampire to walk the earth- though even he was unsure of his own origins. He was a man who hated the light, and the peace it brought to those who walked in the sun. It was blinding; they, were blinding. Yet he, cursed to the night and bound by shadows, was alone. " I don't want to be alone" he had once thought. " I don't want to hurt anyone"...but they didn't know. How could they know? They ran from him, and treated him like a monster. Not once was he given a chance for redemption, a light for him to hold in the dark. " So fine." he thought. "I'll give them a monster".

"I Have Always Loved The Night; Normal People Have No Clue How Beautiful The Darkness Is"

Centuries passed. As they did, the world changed and grew- and with it, the vampires, all speaking of a supposed "King" and "Progenitor' they thanked for their new-found abilities and unending life. Other cursed his name. The descriptions of him varied, as did their stories of his origin. But no matter who you asked, one part of the story always remained the same; he was elusive. So much so many questioned if he even existed. Time and time again vampires tried to find him, and every time they did, it ended in failure. But every so often a new vampire would arise, and when asked who had sired them, their answer would be this: " He called himself Atlas"

"The Things You Hide In Your Heart Will Eat You Alive: But Only In The Dark That You Can See The Stars"

The first among them, aside from the progenitor, were pure of blood. There were no traces of humanity left running through their veins. They became known as the founding families, and while some chose to keep the line pure, others mingled with the humans, creating the first half-breeds and changelings. Still, nobody could find the progenitor. Nor did they know what he looked like. All they had were vague ideas and a name.

"But I Despise The Light...So I Will Wreak Havoc On This World, And All Those In It Shall Be My Pawns"

But that was a long, long time ago, in an age long since forgotten. Nowadays, the world is made up of a series of kingdoms across the lands and the seas. Vampires hid themselves from society, revealing their existence to only a few. But among these kingdoms there were two of note: One was a kingdom ruled by their kind. The other was a kingdom of humans. They were known as Runemeth and Emberelic respectively. For a long time, the people of Emberelic knew of the vampires- they were allies. But the lion does not always lay with the lamb, and so the existence of vampires was erased for Emberelic history- the only memory of them passed down in folklore and the royal family. But at some point, even the royal family questioned their existence, and upon the death of a certain king and queen, the true stories and the books were not presented to the eldest heir. Not that it mattered, in the end- Runemeth, despite having been allies with Emberelic for so long, wished to see it fall. The king wished to rule over both kingdoms- the humans had had their fun, but they had forgotten their place in the world. Vampires were the true rulers, the apex. And so they plotted. Runemeth. The three heirs. A Fallen King. A Conflicted Martyr. A Trickster. A Musician fallen from the spotlight. and in a tragic story of betrayal and deadly romance, Emberelic fell. It's people now live under the rule of vampires, believing their queen to be dead. The people, in secret, had built her a grave- but their queen did not reside in it. As for the heirs, they were nowhere to be found, though some had tried. This was a month ago- and though it has not been long, the question remains: What ever happened to the Queen, and the heirs? Were any of them still alive? But while the humans waited, praying for a saving grace, other vampires lurked in the underbellies of the kingdom, readying the preparations for the return of their lost king.

A certain pale, blonde female resided in a room in a manor ontop a Runemeth hill, staring with a hollow, lamenting gaze at her reflection. She had dressed herself that day in a dark turquoise gown- a simple one. It cinched at the waist, but flowed elegantly at the skirt. The bodice was adorned with some silver rhinestones along the neckline, and the sleeves flowed at the wrist instead of firmly pressing against her skin. What she had just been doing was brushing out her hair, having already applied her makeup, like she did every day lately- but the dress she had chosen today exposed the mark on her neck, and had lost herself in the recollection of her memories regarding them. The scars were still fresh, and tender to the touch- though the worst of the physical pain had long since alleviated. How long had it been now, since that day? One month? Two? Not that it mattered. She hardly noticed the passing of time anymore. Every day was the same. Yet despite that all that, she could still remember that day like it was yesterday. She could remember it all in vivid detail. The way his eyes had changed after she swiped her blood onto his lips- the way he avoided her gaze as he moved, cradling her against him as if she were a child in need of protection. It was an unbreakable grip, however. Just as predatory as it was protective. "There,", she had spoke as his fangs pierced her skin, a searing pain worse than anything she had ever known. It was all she could do not to jerk away from him, though she had still tensed and let out a pained noise. Her voice shook as she had continued, "hat wasn't so hard, now was it?" But internally, she was afraid. She knew- she had accepted- that she had brought this on herself. She was ok with that...and she had wanted to believe he wouldn't kill her. That she'd be fine. But, like any creature, the desire to live- to escape the grasp of certain death, ran deep., and she found her mind reeling with thoughts. I'm scared--- I don't want to die---Is this where I die?---Will Haruna be ok?---Perhaps death would be a mercy--- if I survive this, will I ever find my way back to the light?--- why did this have to happen to me? To us? Couldn't it have been someone else? She didn't remember much after that- aside from attempting to relax into his arms as she felt herself slipping away, into a still and silent nothingness. \

When she awoke, her neck throbbed. Every bit of the pain was still there. Her ladies-in-waiting had informed her how long she'd been out after they had made sure she was alright, but she didn't remember. She hadn't even responded with much more than single-worded answers. Full sentences were a rarity, as she tried to avoid them. No part of her wanted to talk about what had happened. What she- they- had done. Thankfully the ladies didn't force her to talk- taking to discussing between themselves the latest gossip and most trivial, light-hearted of topics. One thing she had noticed, since she had woken up, however, was she had never seen that young man around the manor. But she daren't ask where he was. The ladies helped her choose her outfits, cared for her, and brought her food. But once she was abled to get about for the most part on her own, she began pushing them away, growing distant. These days she only ever interacted when she had to, mostly staying within the confines of her room even going so far as to take her meals there most of the time. The only times she really left it was to see Haruna- but that was fine by her. She didn't want to leave it. After that night, she didn't want to risk leaving the manner again- even if she thought she'd be allowed to, with escorts of course. And besides, she didn't want to face Lucas- not even to get her answers- which seemed to be more than fine with him, too. He was never around these days. Had never even come to check on her, as far as she was aware. Every now and then, she caught the briefest glimpses of him, unsure if he even saw her. But if she had ever seen him out on the grounds of the estate as she stood on the balcony of her room, she would instantly return to inside, and hide herself away.

Likely, one day, the need for a confrontation would occur. It was unlikely, however, that either one of them would initiate it.

Al:

Postby owl0430 » Tue Apr 13, 2021 6:56 pm

A True Vampire they had called him, patting him on the back as they spoke praises of his loyalty and cleverness, he the one who had tricked the human queen and slain her. He had even put on a show for them, acting as if it had been an act all along- that every he had done up to that moment had all been a rouse so the queen would let down her guard and make things easier for them than it already was. He was then given the honor of holding her limp form up for all those in the main city of Emberelic to see. Few of the citizens had actually managed to leave- only about a third of the local population. Squadrons of the army, who had been patrolling the outskirts, had found them.

Still, he acted the part of a loyal soldier. A changeling vampire who had truly earned his place amongst his kind. In fact, the king had even offered him afterwards, to train to be his successor. Sure, his physical strength wasn't nearly that of a purebloods- but he had a clever mind, second only to that of the army's General. He had thought once about offering the position to Lucas, but he didn't feel he'd ever be able to find such a grand general worthy enough to replace him. Al turned the offer down with no hesitation, and left- Aralynn's limp form in tow. Once he had gotten back to his primary home- a small manor on the outskirts of Runemeth's central city- he wasted no time in feeding Aralynn his blood, instructor his minimal staff to prepare her a room to rest in until she awoke. Thankfully, his blood seemed to take, and was not rejected by her. He wasn't too late. It was only after the preparation were perfect that he let her leave his arms- and even then, he stayed by her side. The next night he was still there, but Adrian had made his presence known. So, this is it then. he had spoke within their shared mind. I must say, I'm proud of you, Al. For once in your life, you've finally allowed yourself to be selfish. Greedy. No matter the cost of the other party. "N-No, I-" he had started to respond, but had stopped. He knew it was true. No need to deny it. No need to feel ashamed. 'tis not but the nature of a vampire to entertain their greed and devour the world before them. I only wish I'd be able to stick around to see how she wakes up- oh, how'd I'd love to see her reaction. stick-stick around? Adrian, what are you saying? his panicked, grief-stricken mind had focused not on Adrian's comments about Aralynn, but instead on his words that implied he would be leaving. Alas, I'm afraid I must leave you, for my own body has finally healed itself. Shouldn't you be excited? I though you wished to be rid of me? I-I did, but I- I need you right now, Adrian! I cant...I can't do this on my own, not right now, not with her future at stake! "Worry not- our destinies are intertwined, Al. We shall meet again. But for now, this is farewell" No! Adrian, you can't leave me but it was too late. He felt the severing of Adrian's sould from his body, the immense shock it left physically and mentally. Adrian was gone.

It took a few days before he finally brought himself to leave Aralynn's side- he hadn't even taken part in any of the food his few staff members had brought him. The only reason he had even left was because the king and his guards had summoned him- meeting him out front. Aftering much debate and pestering on the kind's end- who, mind you, was unaware of the young queen-now-vampire sleeping inside- he agreed to be the king's assistant and personal assassin. It was after the first task he was assigned that he spiraled. Granting he now bothered to bathe and keep up with his hygiene again, and to feed- but at the moment, his mind was broken. Aside from the time he was by Aralynn's side, he was the kind of vampire Adrian would have loved. Carefree- divulging himself in the thralls of blood-lust, savouring the hunt. During his tasks, he was a relentless machine- focused only on the task at hand. When he hunted, he did it with a group of other vampires, hunting down unsuspecting humans. They had picked him up one night after he had paid a visit to his hometown of Angel's Hollow, luring in humans with his songs and devouring each one who dared wander too close.

But at the moment, he was asleep by Aralynn's bedside, waiting for her to wake. It took a while, sometimes, with the turning. The longer one puts off feeding their blood to the human after the venom was injected, the more risk of...complications...
He was dressed in a black shirt, pirate-esque in style, with tan pants to go along with it. His hair had grown out a bit by now as well, brushing his shoulderblades.

Lucas

Postby wolfrunner » Wed Apr 14, 2021 2:29 am

"-unfortunetly somehow about one third of the humans in the main city were able to slip by us. We have squads out combing for them but it is unlikely we will find them, alive that is sir. Humans scattered about and terrified make easy prey, as I am sure you already are aware, for more then just us. But your brilliant plan sir went off truely splendidly-"

He wasn't listening. Well not really listening anyway to what the soldier was reporting from Emberelic.

Lucas stood there in the grand study staring out the window to the grounds outside surrounding the estate house. It was a lovely day. The sun shining bright up in the sky without sign of a cloud in sight to block the sun's life giving rays. But the pureblooded vampire's eyes, their typical blue-grey in color as it happened, just stared out the window glass as he listened just enough to get the jist of the situation with the kingdom's new acquisition. The dark haired General really had no interest in hearing any more 'glad tidings' about Runemeth's sucess, it was all he had been hearing of for the past month....though that was largely his fault. While it was possible to hear of other things the vampire had thrown himself entirely into his duties of leading the Runemeth army, many of his kind reportedly taking excited notice on how he was acting like his old self. As though he had returned to them from a trip of some sort. And yet Lucas had forbid any vampires from entering the town minus a few whom could prove they were on some sort strict business from the king. These cases were lead directly to him by estate staff and then immediately seen off after matters were handled. While standing in front ofnthe window, absentmindly a hand traveled to the area just below his ribs on his left side to push on the area there. Steady sure pressure as Lucas felt the still raised scarred area under his shirt for himself. A month. It had already been a whole month since that fiasco in the alley where Lucas had killed three of the kingdom's soldiers. Of course the king was notified at once from staff about what happened but, per their master's orders, explained it as a half-baked uprising attempt as they were unpleased with how the handling of the heirs of Emberelic were going and sought to over reach their power. Course the king had no issue agreeing on Lucas's course of action and commanded he take the time to recover fully....but the General declined in polite wanting to get right back to his duties. He wrongly assumed that doing so would help him forget that night. Now the pureblood sincerely doubted that anything could ever make him forget that night one month ago-

He didn't want to hurt her. He had already done enough, caused her enough pain and trouble and scared her mentally for who knew if she would ever get over it. Plus now she knew the truth about what he was, meaning she was in even more danger then before. Lucas knew all this and yet, the moment the blonde brushed her blood onto his lips it was too late. The superior being took over letting his predatory instincts take over as soon as he got a taste of her blood.  So dropping his crimson stained hand from the onenthat held her's holding the blade, both arms came up rather quickly for as weak as he was. Lucas wrapped both arms around the human princess pulling her towards himself cradling her like one would a small child. The vampire avoided eye contact on purpose knowing what Akira would see in the bright crimson. Then gently tilting her head to the side with a free hand, Lucas sunk his fangs into the base of Akira's neck causing blood to at once well up from the small puncture marks his teeth made.

The taste was unlike anything he had before. Al hadn't been lying about royal blood, it was almost like having a fine drink or fine cut of meat for a meal but better. And yet, even in his state then, Lucas withdrew from the human's neck not long after first biting into it and licked his lips. Akira having fallen unconscious from him taking her blood now laying passed out in his arms. The male only taking enough to cover kickstarting healing so he wouldn't die and so he could get them home. After which ever so carefully, the pureblood had slowly leaned in and lightly, gently kissed the blonde princess before double checking for a pulse just to be sure she was still alive. It was another little while the oldest Renier sat there holding the human before he could get up just enough strength to stand and carry Akira who he wrapped back up in her cloak to keep her warm.

Since bringing Akira home that night, Lucas had been avoiding the Emberelic Heir to the very best of his ability.....sort of. Though he didn't have any contact with her that didn't mean that Lucas had abandoned the blonde princess. Far from it. Her ladies in waiting reported in to him secretly on a regular basis after all, reporting on her condition and needs. Her needs which he was still personally seeing were fulfilled even without ever letting her know he was doing so in any way. He was covering his tracks and doing so well. And yet a day or night didn't go by where a thumb found itself caressing at the bejeweled white gold infinity brooch which hung about his neck on a fine piece of matching chain hidden under his clothes. Oh yes Lucas still had her favour. Not that any soul outside of maybe his brother knew that he had it, let alone that it made him think of Akira. He wanted to see her. To talk to her. To kneel before her on the floor and plead for forgiveness but knew there was no way. It was best for them both that he stayed away from her and kept an eye on her from a distance.

"General? General Renier sir?"

Beneath the streets of Emberelic resides a series of stone tunnels, meticulously made through the efforts of vampires over the centuries, and carefully maintained. Not once had they ever been out of use. There were entrances in Runemeth as well, but the majority were in and just outside Emberelics capital. These tunnels led to what could be considered an underground palace, inside of which a few dozen vampires ran amuck hurriedly to a particular chamber in the palaces lowest level. There, instead of in a coffin, the body of what was once a blonde vampire male rested in a luxurious bed. Though in the current moment, he appeared nearly skeletal. Piles of fur-lined blankets. The fluffiest of pillows. A veil half-circled the head if the bed, only truly exposing the foot of it despite the veil being a bit translucent. The mattress itself was even the best they could find, the headrest padded. All colored a pristine white and silver.

Around it, the vampires of the underground palace gathered, bringing with them the sacrifices they had searched tirelessly for, and took proper care of in the time they've had them for. These humans were from all social standings before their arrival. All that had really mattered was that their blood was of the finest quality- no ordinary human was worthy of awakening him. Therefore, all the humans were dressed in luxurious clothing in a wide array of colors. Standing in a line before his lifeless form.

Slowly, one of them walked forward- after having been told to do so. A farmers daughter, dressed now in a flowing gown the color of pale gold. She wore upon her form a variety of jewelry as well- the most notable being the necklace, a fine gold adorned with amethyst. The entire array was likely the finest attire she had ever- and would ever- be in. But as she approached the bedside, the vampires who seemed to be in charge did as well. A duo- twin- with light brown hair and hazel eyes. The male took the farmer girl's hand in his, holding it over the mouth of the skeletal form. The other took a blade to the girls hand, and allowed the blood to flow- right into the forms mouth.

When it did, the room filled with silence- the whispered chatter that had been there before ceasing as vampire and human alike held there breath. Mere minutes passed by, but they felt like hours. There was no sign of life in the form...until there was. The twitch of a few bony fingers. The coarse, nearly inaudible cloaks as the creature attempted to speak, trying to reach for the farmer girl's bloody hand.

Thats when one of the twin vampires shoved the girl, presenting the creature with the opportunity to wrap his arms around her and feast.
And feast it did, already taking on a bit more life than he had before. The vampires wasted no time however, as he pointed towards another of the humans- this one a nobleman's son. " That one" he croaked, and the vampires, brought the young lad over immediately, despite his attempts at escape.. One by on they brought him the humans in this way, and one by one he fed- fed until he had taken on a more healthy appearance. He was still ravenous, but he didn't wish to drain all of his current supply right away. " It has been far to long, loyal ones. " he spoke as the vampires all took a knee, forcing the remaining humans to do so as well. " You may stand. I thank you for your patience, and for the lovely feast you had all prepared. But if you would, I would like a moment of privacy to speak with my right hand man and woman".

The vampires and the humans obliged, leaving naught but two other brings in there with him- the twins. " Orion. Esmerelda. How lovely it is to see you again. " he spoke in a soft hearted, though still weak tone as Esmerelda presented him with a mirror. His hair was longer now-much longer. He would eager it reached his hips. Thankfully it seemed they'd taken to brushing it out for hum before he awoke. His face still look sunken in a bit,, but it was nothing some more blood couldn't fix. Llooking down at his shirtless torso, however,, he ran a hand over the longest scar, one from his lower right ribcage up to his heart, his eyes spoke of contemplation and the embers of a wrathful fire. " How unfortunate... all this time and still, some of the scars haven't healed. "

Aralynn

Postby wolfrunner » Wed Apr 14, 2021 9:18 am

It was strange..being dead. It certainly wasn't what the teen was expecting, that much was a definite. Though she really wasn't sure what she had been expecting her death to be like or even for her to realize that she was in fact dead. So she lay there.

Aralynn lay there surrounded by darkness for who knew how long now. An eternity already perhaps? She lay there huddled curled up on what felt like cold stone with her eyes kept shut tight as they could be, replaying the last few days of her life on an infinite loop through her mind. You would think one would choose other, better days to play as they slept for eternity but not the blonde. To her those days, and the few before, were the happiest moment of her life and the ones she was really alive and herself. They were the days since she'd first met the more gentle original soul that inhabited the body of a certain black haired changling escort of her's. Yes it took time for the eighteen year old to warm up to him thanks to his other less amiable side but in the end he snared her like a spider catching a fly in it's web for a meal. And before she was prepared to handle such emotions Aralynn had fallen in love with the first soul in that body, almost as though they were meant to be together. Soon all the human girl wanted was to see him happy and safe, willing to give anything someone like her could give to see that happen.....even her life. The blonde was doomed anyway. Anyway she looked at it she was going to die and her kingdom was destined to fall despite what small efforts she made. Aralynn had lost her parents. She lost her siblings. She lost her kingdom and people. At least if the girl could make sure that loosing her life too had some meaning then there was no reason to not do so. So that was exactly what the teen did by willingly giving her life to protect the one thing the young blonde had left which she loved in the world. The one person left that it was actually possible to protect. After all the darkness wasn't so bad as the image of walking along dark streets lit only by glowing plants on the arm of a vampire played through her thoughts.

Aralynn curled in on herself tighter as she reached out for the nothingness surrounding her as though trying to grasp it and pull it more taught about her form. She knew she was crazy but it felt as though she was still in his arms, cradled in their familiar embrace being kept to him. If she focused enough Aralynn liked to think she could still feel the fabric of his clothes and buried her face to it. It was crazy of course but she didn't care. It felt as though he had taken her to the shadow realm and hid her away there for a little while, it was sort of funny because concentrating hard enough brought his voice to her ears telling her to just hold on and wait for him to come back and get her. And like a small child obeying their parent that was what Aralynn did. Though the eighteen year old knew that was far from the case. "I'm sorry Al.", the teen breathed though doing so made her throat burn and itch that she fell silent refusing to say anything more. The human was too wrapped up in her memories to notice what felt like another presence come and go beside her standing there in wait when it was there with her.

Her eyes fluttered squinting as though blinded by a harsh light though they stayed closed, head moving trying to get away from it fruitlessly. The cold was gone. Instead of feeling as though she was laying on stone, Aralynn felt as though she was more laying in a bed surrounded by blankets and feather-filled pillows. It was the feeling of warmth. Comfort. Her body ached like crazy all over and her muscles refused to comply with her brain's commands as though they hadn't been used in some time. The girl's throat burned as though it was on fire, a sensation as though she had scratched it raw somehow even though that was impossible. The pleasent memories running through her head had abruptly stopped playing and the darkness seemed to shrink in on her threatening to disappear all together. Like it was disappearing all together.

Postby owl0430 » Wed Apr 14, 2021 11:15 am

The slight movement of Aralynn stirred him from his slumber- blinking a few times as he sat up, but ultimately going wide when he saw Aralynn's eyes fluttering. It was more life he'd seen from her since their time together a month ago. "A...Aralynn?" Was she to wake soon, he wondered, swiftly moving to close the curtains of the room's window. The bright light of the outdoor world would likely be harsh at first- he had known many a vampire who struggled a bit with the sun when they first turned. He only knew of a small few who were actually caused harm by it- but nonetheless, closing the curtains couldn't hurt. Afterward he returned to her side, sitting on the edge of the bed, his arm resting by her side. " Marilla" he spoke to the maid that had been passing by the room. " Please go procure a warm beverage- perhaps a warm milk tea with some honey, and a hint of ginger." the maid hurried off with a nod, and he gazed at Aralynn with a hopeful, desperate gaze. " My love...please wake" he whispered, silent afterward. It looked like she was struggling to move, however. Which made sense. She hadn't moved in so long, and beforehand, had been drained of her blood. {i] oh...wait[/i] he realized in the back of his mind. the newly turned are weak and parched when they wake- ravenous. Tea will be of no help, aside from consolation. and so he bit into his wrist, in case she woke, allowing the blood to slowly run down his arm.

He was desperate for her to wake. Currently, he found his most rational moments were always when he was here, by her side. Probably because all he had to focus on was taking care of her- watching for any signs of distress or discomfort. Mostly for any signs of life. So much could've gone wrong. He had worried, mostly he wouldn't get her his blood in time to secure the turn. Without vampire blood, a human who wasn't overly drained could potentially fight off the venom. One who was drained, as she was, could simply die before enough of a transformation took place. A vampire's blood essentially acted as a catalyst of sorts, speeding the process along. But if given too late, after some transformation begins to take place, it could also act as a hindrance. It could be rejected by the former human's body. Furthermore on the catalyst analogy, if the infected human didn't receive vampire blood at all, or it was rejected, if the human survived the turning there was the chance they'd be permanently blood-crazed, a constant ball of violence and unending hunger.

Thankfully, it didn't seem as if he had much to worry about, aside from her reaction. He hoped she would forgive him, at least a bit more than he would ever forgive himself. He didn't even recognise himself in that moment- his fangs in her neck, and her fate in his hands. He despised his actions- wanted to stop- but couldn't bring himself to. What he hated more was the fact he had enjoyed the feeling. To allow himself his greed and his desires. To, for once, have some control over something in his life- even at the cost of another. It didn't help he could vaguely recall Adrian's voice urging him on- or was it? Was it his own conscious, a manifestation of his own darker nature? He wasn't sure...but speaking of, it was quite odd without Adrian around. Almost empty, in a way, though he should have been thrilled.

Aralynn

Postby wolfrunner » Wed Apr 14, 2021 12:44 pm

When the harsh light seemed to dim all of a sudden, Aralynn stopped struggling against it's glares to settle back down. It was like her whole body was restarting, slowly but surely pulling her away from the inky blackness as it shrunk steadily around her. Her mind working more each second and senses coming back to her at the same time. First was the sense of touch which led off with the recognition of light and she was in what felt like a bed. Her fingers twitched, the tips curling inwards on the blankets grasping slow and weak in a testing her surroundings sort of way. She could feel air on her face and her long locks, which were free instead of their usual styled way, lightly tickling her skin as it lay around her. Whatever she was laying on moved several times though gently and nothing happened afterwards. They were just gentle rocking motions really. And then came scent...

All at once eyes opened and Aralynn sat straight up right in the bed, only to collapse right back down onto the pillow into a caughing fit. The teen cringing inwards as if she was an animal suddenly struck by something or frightened out of nowhere. That scent... She had no idea what it was but it was enough to make her get up all of sudden to track it down out of pure physical need. But such quick motion right away before she could totally recover had triggered a harsh reminder that she had better not yet think of investigating anything just yet. Getting up like that stunned the girl. Aralynn was too weak despite wanting to get rid of the rawness in her throat and her body wasn't going to waste time reminding her of that small detail. So instead the blonde let her gaze wonder about her surroundings, they were different then the darkness she remembered being in. Just floating in. Exisisting while watching her memories. "Whe-" More caughing. Her voice was rough and cracky, strained, as though she was just getting over being without a voice.

A smile appeared on the vampire's face as she stired, though her sudden attempt at sitting up had startled him. But it didn't change the fact he was glad to see the color of her eyes again. " My love...you have awakened." he kept his tone gentle and soft as he moved to embrace her, gently sitting her up so that her back was to his chest. "Shhh" he had responded when she tried to talk. " Do no waste your energy on such futile endeavors. Words matter not. All will be explained in due time. But for the moment, indulge yourself. The hunger is a powerful thing-but right now, that is good. It urges you to regain your strength." he held his wrist up for her, close enough she wouldn't need to move much to pierce it with her newfound fangs.

" You are far from home, my love. This is mine, on the outskirts of Runemeth's capital city. " The maid had, at this point, made it back to the entrance to the room, tea in hand. But he politely motioned for her to wait for a moment and leave them be- shutting the door behind her. Depending on the vampire, the first feeding could either be vicious or hesitant- but either way, it was often seen as a private moment, a crucial moment in the bond between sire and vampire. Something that he, despite having turned others before, had never been around for. Sure, he made sure they were fine, and that they adjusted. But he left such things as this, typically, to one of his vampire staff. "I promise, once this is done, I shall answer all of your questions to the best of my abilities."
