"It's not your fault..." she said calmly as she gave him a small grin. Before the doctors left Kate spoke up "Is there anyway I could give my love a hug?" she asked with a small grin.

"It is though. I should have protected you..." He said to her. The doctor said that she would have to go to him because he really should not stand up. So if she felt well enough, she could hug him. Matthew looked at the doctor knowing that he was right. He could not get up. Matthew looked over at Kate.

"It really isn't but believe what you want." she said before she put the ice pack down, showing her black and blue cheek and stood up. She was so thankful the IV fluid was on a thing that rolled so she could easily walk a yard to his bed. Kate laid down next to him and gave him a tight hug.

Matthew smiled a little when she came and laid with him. He wrapped his arms around her and looked at her cheek. He frowned a little. "I hit him back really hard but I am still sorry that this happened." He said to her. He held her close. He really wanted to keep her close.

"It's fine, if I really want to cover it up makeup will do the trick." she said with a shy grin as she cuddled into him. "I think it makes me look tough..." she said trying to sound happy about it.

Matthew chuckled a little. "I think you do look tough. A lot more tough than I do." He said to her. "I want you to stay here with me." He said to her. He kept her close.

She smiled and shook her head "You look pretty tough too." she said with a small giggle "I want to stay here with you too." she said as she gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Really? I can't stand up without passing out." He said to her with a small smile. He kissed her forehead. He held her close. "You need to get some sleep." He said to her.

"That makes you a special kind of tough." she mused happily. She liked being so close to him, it made her a lot more comfortable. "If I sleep... you have to sleep too okay?" she said as she laid her head on his chest, acting as if he was a pillow.

"I will love." He said to her. He closed his eyes and soon fell asleep with his arms around her. He slept peacefully.
