His dad frowned and walked over to Kate and ripped the blanket off of her "Look who it is, the cry baby." he said as he forced her to face him.

Kate hide her face in her hands and tried to get out of his grip "Get off of me,, or I'll kick you." she threatened with a frown.

"Father. Please leave her alone." He said trying to get him to stop him. "I will come with you if you leave her alone. It just will take me a few minutes." He said. He really hoped that he would not be hurt worse by leaving but knew that he probably would.

The king yanked Kate up so she was sitting "You can hurt me all you want, but I am not letting him leave." Kate said with sass in her tone. She shook her head as the king's grip strengthened on her wrist.

The king laughed a bit and punched her cheek "So, now will you let him leave?" he asked Kate, who was unconscious with a chuckle.

Matthew was so angry. He stood up and took off his IV running on full adrenaline. He punched his dad really hard before he passed out again from moving too fast. He laid on the floor.

His dad stumbled backwards and lost balance, falling onto Kate's bed. Kate stayed passed out, breathing raspy breaths. His dad had stood back up and stormed out of the hospital.

Matthew stayed on the floor not able to call for help. He hoped a doctor would come in soon. He could still hear things and feel things he just could not react or open his eyes.

Kate slowly started to wake up with a groan as her hand went start to her cheek. She looked over at Matthew's bed and he wasn't there so she assumed he was gone until she got up to stretch and stepped on his arm "Oh my word..." she murmured as she quickly called for the doctor.

The doctor came and got him on the bed and put an IV back on him. "He really needs to stay in bed." The doctor said and they ran more tests to check him out. Matthew woke up a bit later and looked around. He looked over at Kate. "Kate... are you okay?" He asked. He clearly cared so much about her and this is what he had been trying to avoid.

She watched them do tests on him and the doctor gave her an ice pack for her badly bruised and swelling cheek."If you want the truth, no I'm not okay." she muttered as brushed the hair out of her face with her other hand that wasn't holding the ice pack.

"I am so sorry love. I was trying to go with him so he would not hurt you... I just couldn't..." He said. He wanted to be with her and be able to hug her and make her feel better but there was no way he could get up. "I was just trying to protect you and I failed..." He said.
