Colin was walking down the hallway on his normal rounds. He had been practicing his magic for a while so that he could be better at it. He was one of the very few magic users that was also a knight. He was sure that everything was safe but he would check on the princess as usual. He knocked on her bedroom door to see if she was in there. He waited for her to answer the door and gave a small nod to another knight that was walking down the hall.

(Sorry it is a little short. I was not really totally sure how to start...)

Clair heard the knock at the door and jumped up excitedly from her seat by the mirror as she had been getting herself tidied up as per usual. She opened her door happily but it slightly dropped. "Oh is just you Colin" she said trying to calm her excitement from moments before and she scratched the back of her head a little awkwardly. "I thought you were my father" she admitted slightly embarassed. Her father was supposed to come and give her a birthday gift and she had been anxiously waiting in excitement.

Colin smiled at her. He could tell that she was a little upset that it was him and not who she had been waiting for. He shook his head. "It is fine. I just wanted to check on you to make sure that you are okay. I also got you something for your birthday." He said to her and held out his hand and a box appeared. He smiled at her. "It is not much, but I am hoping that you will like it." He said to her. It was a bracelet that was beautiful and laced with magic so if she tapped it three times it would send a signal to him to know that she needed him. It was practical and pretty.

She looked up at him in slight surprise but showed him a kind smile. "Thank you" she said softly and took the box from him gently and opened it. Her eyes lit up. "Wow it's so pretty!" she exclaimed and she put it on her right wrist with ease. It fit her small wrist perfectly. "Thank you so much Colin it's amazing" she hummed in admiration as she looked it over and then to him.

Colin smiled at her. "Good. I am so glad that you like it." He said and showed her the bracelet on his wrist. It was very different than hers and blended in with his uniform well. He gently took her wrist and tapped the stone three times and his lit up and moved. "Now you have a quick way of contacting me if you need me. I thought it would make you more safe as well as look nice." He said smiling at her. He put his sleeve back down.

"Oh wow... Thank you again" she thanked him repeatedly just because she didn't know really what else to say. She really only ever got gifts from her father or her cousin so it was a real treat. "Hey... Colin? Do you mind if you can escorted me to my father's room? He was supposed to be here by now but he isn't... I'm worried" she admitted slightly fiddling with the bracelet on her wrist.
