Blazing Feathers and Wings

Phoenixes, mighty bird-like creatures that are born with fiery flames within them.
Many claim them to be simple myths, but high in the skies, they're far from legends.
Very few exist, some say less than a dozen, but, nonetheless, this is the tale of a couple of them, and how they immersed themselves on the world around them and in the kingdoms that filled the earth.

And just like that, there was fire.

A whole forest burst into fiery flames, courtesy of two thunders striking into the area, wreaking havoc in the whole biome.
It hadn't even been raining, so some would've claimed it to be the will of the gods.

And they'd claim right.


With blurry vision, Cinder opened her eyes, and looked around the mess that surrounded her.
Everywhere her gaze went, there was fire.
Not like she minded.

She winced, and groaned, feeling sore for some reason.
Perhaps because she had just came to be?
Perhaps.
Though, she didn't remember much of her purpose or the reason the gods had casted her and, as they said, another of her kin, in these lands.
But her objective mattered little, as she sat there on the floor, wings spread across the ground as she remained still, hoping she'd be able to regain her balance and will to stand ASAP.

Inferno »« Male »« Appearance

Once his eyes opened, the first sight he saw, was blazing orange, fire surrounding everywhere he looked. For a moment he just stared, laying on the ground Then a few moments later lifting his wings, and attempting to stand.

It didn't turn out too good at first, as he felt a wave of dizziness come upon him. He managed to find his balance, and stood there, in the same spot for a while, just taking in what had happened. He didn't remember much, or why he was here.

The scorching flames that danced on the ground around him, felt well, comforting for some reason. Though the Phoenix could not wrap his mind around the reason why.

The gods. He thought, curiosity gripping him as he wondered what he was doing here. Inferno's mind filled with multiple questions, without answers. They don't really matter, considering I was just created.

Cinder glanced around, for any signs of her supposed partner, not very fond of the idea.

She had always worked alone, why had the gods assigned her the task of having to deal with another of her own kin?

'Oh Well'

The phoenix thinks, wearily standing, shaking her feathers and releasing what seemed ashes, cinder and other particles, as she sets off to walking, attempting to find the other, in hopes of obtaining answers.

Inferno finally snapped out of his trance, and began moving, though many thoughts kept going through his mind. Another Phoenix... He murmured aloud, recalling the fact that his kin was out there somewhere, and he was very anxious to find him, or her. Preferring to be with a partner. Who wants to be alone? He continued his way, keeping an eye out for any movement.

As she walks and walks, she catches a glimpse of something through the woods, a familiar scent to her nostrils and a well-known color to her eyes.

"There you are..."

Cinder says to herself, approaching the other.

"Are you lost, pretty face?"

She asks, deciding to aim for a rather headstrong approach.

He jumped slightly, turning as he heard an unfamiliar voice. Well, actually, any voice was unfamiliar to him, since he hadn't really heard anybody yet, at least on this world.

He took a good look at his partner, obviously, since she was a Phoenix as well. He hesitates a few moments, before opening his beak to respond.

"Shouldn't I, be calling you, pretty?" He said, grinning at her. "No, I'm not lost. And you are very b-beautiful." He stuttered, gazing at her, before looking at the ground nervously.

Cinder laughs, glancing down, not expecting something like that in return.

'How brave'

She thinks, surprised by how the other had had the guts of complimenting her, as she lifts her gaze to meet his once again.

"You're very valiant to dare compliment me like that, you know?
I can be quite of a biter."

The other teases, hoping to make him uncomfortable, all for her own amusement.

He shrugged lightly. "Well, thanks, I guess. But I don't really see how someone like you could be bitter."

He paused, cocking his head for a moment.

"Oh, I should probably introduce myself. I'm Inferno."

Cinder laughs even more, shaking her head.

" Biter, not bitter, Inferno.
Anyways, I am Cinder."

She says, smiling lightly, unsure of what to think of the other.
