Welcome to The Legend of Zelda: Explorers of Hyrule RPG! Here, you play in a world set 150 years after the events of Skyward Sword, where the Kingdom of Hyrule is still new to the surface. Several villages and towns have been built across the Faron Woods, but none have grown as much as Castle Town, the home of the Royal Family. King Leo, the Great-Great Grandson of the Legendary Link, rules over Hyrule with Queen Saku. However, a new threat known as the Bordix Kingdom approaches from the borders of the desert and Eldin Mountains. What role will twelve heroes play in discovering the unknown secrets of Hyrule?

Section 1: Posting
A.)From now on, please include a header at the top of your post for others. The formatting is yours to choose, but it should include (at least) the character's name, where they are, and who they're with. (Example: Guzore/Where: Arbor Harbor/With: Della, Jack, and Sapphire)
B.)Dialogue can be displayed through quotation marks, color, or both. There is no minimum or maximum size to which a post must be as of this moment. This is subject to change if necessary. Please do not post twice in a row.
C.) In accordance with chicken smoothie rules, posts that contain "foul language, explicit sexual scenes, excessive violence/torture, non-consensual 'romance', or other adult themes" will be deleted and users will be subject to the chickensmoothie staff for further action.

Section 2: Character Actions
A.) Characters are free to speak and do what they wish, as long as it remains within the realm of possibilities. Characters cannot reveal information through their dialogue that their character would not have had access to. References to outside sources, memes, or recurring jokes may be made if the character is not aware of making them.
B.) When interacting with others, characters must give other characters time to react to actions directly affecting them. With permission from the character's owner, you may script them doing something. You cannot do this without their consent though.
C.) Characters cannot leave the town, dungeon, or general area in which the other characters are located. Moving to another room or smaller location within the larger location is allowed, however.
D.) Characters can have their own plot arcs, but permission must be obtained from me before performing any actions leading to their arc that affect the current plot arc.
E.) When performing spells or magical actions, at least 3 votes from other members in the RPG supporting the legitimacy of the spell must be obtained before using it. If at least 3 people oppose it as well, a vote will be taken among all 12 members of the group, or if necessary, I will make the final decision based on each side's argument.
F.) I retain the right to take control of a character if one or more of the following conditions are met:
-If a character's owner does not post for them for at least 4 months with no explanation and/or efforts to contact them have failed.
-If a character's owner chooses to leave the RPG and/or quit posting altogether.
-If a character's owner permanently or temporarily forfeits ownership of the character.

Section 3: Materials and Crafting
A.) When in a biome/area, a character may search for materials once per post and 3 times per biome. I will roll the dice and determine what material they recieve. AngelOzwin is in charge of documenting it in the Character Inventories section of the RPG Blog.
B.) Crafting may be done in any town or village with permission from me. The recipes and list of materials are still being created, but a link to the recipe page will be posted here once it's completed.
C.) Do not give your character any materials or items that you didn't receive permission to obtain.

Section 4: Battles
A.) The battle system operates similar to Pokemon. The characters involved in the battle take turns attacking enemies while I script the enemies' attacks and calculate damage.
B.) To initiate a battle, a character may search for one, or one may be initiated by me as part of the plot arc.

Section 5: Relations
A.) If you have any issues or problems with the way a member is treating you or with something they posted, contact me and I will assist in resolving the issue.
B.) As the leader of this RPG, I reserve the right to override other people's decisions, but I welcome group input and suggestions. This list of rules is subject to change if necessary.

THE STORY SO FAR:

DAY 1:
Zephyrus finds out about some powerful magic books that reside in Gregal's Mansion and asks his best friend Ferondir to go along with him. Ferondir agrees to coming so he can get practice fighting in the wilderness. Zephyrus and Ferondir left southward for Arbor Harbor and set up camp for the night with a warding spell. Della, a young potion maker, activated the warding spell; attracting the attention of Jakub Wilks, a sailor who happened to be nearby. An exploring Goron named Guzore then showed up as well.

(Night 1)
After an eventful encounter and some confusion, they all went to Jakub's ship for dinner. It wasn't long after that
that a criminal named Jack snuck onto the ship with bandits chasing after him, causing a battle to ensue. After the battle, they returned to dinner and a food fight ensued. Zeph almost killed Della in all the chaos and had an emotional breakdown later. Ferondir went to reassure him and they hugged it out.

DAY 2:
Everyone went to the beach to cool off, and Zeph and Ferondir built large sandcastles. Della was tired from the
other night, so Guzore took her back to the ship. They discussed some details of the mansion. Soon, the ship left and they proceeded towards the mansion. Zephyrus had another emotional episode which Della, Ferondir, and
Guzore heard this time.

(Night 2)
They slept.

DAY 3:
The ship passed through the rapids of the river, shaking it about. Once they reached Gregal Lake, they met a Zora
named Sapphire and a Hylian named Dimaethor. They went into the mansion, only to be met with a ghost named Gregal that threatened to erase them from everyone's memories and kill them.

(Night 3)
Everybody was moved to different rooms by Floormasters. Guzore found a painting that revealed that Gregal once had a brother, but died trying to ressurect him. Ferondir was confronted by Gregal's ghost, who then asked him to go kill his friends. Zephyrus barged into Guzore's room and battled some poes that appeared. Guzore heard Della scream and went into her room to calm her down. Sapphire came to them from the other side of the door and Gregal attempted to persuade her to steal the painting. After everyone regrouped and Sapphire's sister Amethyst entered the mansion, Gregal appeared in his true form to kill everyone himself. Ferondir sent his soul into Zephyrus' body and Gregal possesed Ferondir's body, so Zeph casted a spell to send everyone inside his mind.

Sapphire ended up in a small, pond, Guzore confronted his inner demon in a cave, Ferondir wound up in his hometown without water, Jack woke up on a floating island and jumped off a bridge and developed a fear of barrels, and Dimaethor walked towards a fortress. Eventually Zephyrus, Guzore, Ferondir, and Amethyst all arrived at the end of the bridge and Zephyrus managed ro bring everyone to where they were. Inside the fortress, they found Gregal and used their combined energy to defeat him. When they exited Zeph's mind, however, they all switched bodies.

DAY 4:
A goron named Azneal showed up in the mansion library and confronted Guzore in Jack's body about a stolen book. After much confusion, the group returned to their bodies and they decided to head towards Arbor Harbor. An argument occured between Zeph and Jakub about the mode of transport, and after a frozen ship and another visit to a mindscape, it was revealed that Jakub was 157 years old and had a demon named Tenebris living inside of him. He then cursed Zephyrus to be unable to use magic. Jack and Zeph went into the mansion and observed a mysterious sword Zeph owned, Guzore talked to Drimaethor about his amulet, and Amethyst went to comfort Sapphire.

(Night 4)
The group roasted marshmallows over a campfire and talked
about their adventures.

DAY 5:
The group woke up to news that the King had been murdered by a member of the Bordix, a tribe of dark magic users that had been a threat to Hyrule ever since they inhabited the land. After some dispute about what to do, they decide to go to Arbor Harbor and then Castle Town. They meet a pet Floroot on the way and stop at Lake Floria for a picnic. Guzore threw a tree and Azneal parted ways with the group. After arriving in Arbor Harbor, Zephyrus regained use of his magic after a falling accident and Ferondir flew into a tree. Guzore met a Zora named Andromeda and Ferondir met a Hylian named Shialia. After the party regrouped, Zephyrus and Ferondir's childhood friend Cassie showed up. Zeph fainted and Ferondir found out that Cassie had no memory of him or Zeph. They all spent the night at the Stock Pot Inn, where Tenebris escaped from Jakub's body and caused multiple people to pass out.

(Night 5)

DAY 6:
An Anouki named Ravoo joined the group and a fortune teller caused Zeph to have a panic attack. The group went back to the inn for breakfast and left for Castle Town soon after. On the way there, they got into a battle with several Bokoblins and Moblins. Shialia took a hit for Ferondir and was knocked out, Ravoo gruesomely impaled some enemies on his antlers, and Guzore threw another barrel. They got to Mira village and Ferondir took Shia to his mentor. Zeph went home and found Cassie's old necklace and Ferondir asked Shia to be his apprentice. Zeph walked up to them and got into an argument with Ferondir, causing Shia to run away from them and Zeph to flee to his old treehouse. Ferondir went to talk to Shia and Cassie talked to Zeph. After the group reconvened, they went up to Castle Town, where Drimaethor showed his amulet to the guards. He was immediately arrested, and the others broke in to Castle Town to go help him.

(Night 6)
Zeph, Jack, and Shia snuck into the prison while Guzore distracted the guards with a special song of his. Amethyst led the others to a place on the edge of Castle Town and left with Sapphire, intending to break Drimaethor out herself. Cassie followed her into the prison, and Guzore followed both of them. A wizard named Veneficus showed up before they could escape with Drimaethor and recognized Zeph's sword. Jakub came in and was immediately recognized by Veneficus as well. It was revealed that they had known each other for over a hundred years and gone on many adventures together. The rest of the group showed up in the prison and Veneficus theorized that they could be the 12 warriors described in his prophecy. He teleported them to his private study and explained the backstory behind the swords: The Royal Family of Hyrule possessed a special type of magic that the Bordix targeted, so Veneficus channeled the magic into three swords. He kept one, gave one to Jakub, and gave one to his friend Gorko. Jakub soon lost his sword and Gorko passed his down to the man who was Zeph's grandfather. Veneficus' sword was stolen many years later. He thinks that the death of the King is a declaration of war from the Bordix and that the 12 adventurers must retrieve the other two swords to defeat the Bordix. After a night of sleep, Veneficus sent the group back in time 100 years with the Ocarina of Time to retrieve Jakub's sword before it was lost.

DAY -36,493: (THE PAST)
After landing in the forest, the group headed to The Bannered Steed, a tavern that Jakub thought his past self would be at. He reveals his backstory involving Lucerna's transformation into the wicked Tenebris, and they arrive at the tavern at the same time as a group of pirates do. Amethyst has a flashback of being cursed to not be able to swim by pirates in her youth, and the Pirates at the tavern stole Jakub's sword. The group followed the pirates down to their ship, which was docked at Westfield, and snuck onto the cargo bay by hiding in barrels. Ravoo slid around the room covered in mineral oil and the ship captain, Gill, came down with Jakub's sword to see what was happening. Guzore and Amethyst were stunned by the sword's attack as a warning hit, and Zeph went up to fight Gill with his sword. Both swords reacted to one another strongly with their magic and caused the two to bounce back from each other. Sapphire threw a spear that hit Gill, causing him to prepare an attack against her. Amethyst redirected the attack's direction by tackling him, but at the expense of her own life. The ship began flooding from a hole that was blasted in the floor, causing Gill to slip and drop his sword. Everyone eventually made their way back up to the top deck of the ship, and Jakub's sword was recovered. The Ocarina of Time was played and the group returned to Veneficus' quarters without Amethyst.

DAY 7:
The group returned to Veneficus' quarters, and Della went to comfort Sapphire. Veneficus explained that long ago, when the Bordix attacked Hyrule, they were after the Triforce. Veneficus split it into three and sealed each piece within a sword to hide them from the Bordix. He kept the Sword of Power, gave the Sword of Courage to Jakub, and the Sword of Wisdom to Gorko. The Sword of Wisdom eventually got passed down to Zeph's grandfather and Jakub lost his sword. Veneficus had been training 12 warriors he deemed worthy to fight the Bordix in response to the prophecy, but one of them grew hungry for power and stole Veneficus' sword. He murdered all but one of the other warriors, who managed to stop him before he could do any more damage and banish him to the Twilight Realm. After hearing this, the group went to Castle Town while Ferondir completed The Journeyman's Test. After that, the group left for Death Mountain, where the mirror of Twilight resided. Along the way, they experienced a strange hallucination where they all entered a dream and had to kill each other. Upon waking up, enough time had passed that the group decided it would be best to stop in Lanayaru City for the night.

(Night 7)
Sapphire overheard some undercover Bordix nearby discussing plans to create the Fused Shadow, a weapon of mass destruction, and alerted the others. Veneficus and the others followed the Bordix into a secret underground storage facility, where Andromeda transformed into their true form, Shinceon, and Veneficus found an orb containing Cassie's memories. Two Shiekah sisters, Pravo and Zliva, showed up and kidnapped Shinceon. The group stopped the Bordix from obtaining a dragon's skull, one of the key ingredients in creating the Fused Shadow, but at the expense of Guzore sustaining a stab wound. After a very long day, the group finally slept.

DAY 8:
The group left for Death Mountain, where the Mirror of Twilight was, but discovered that Pravo and Zliva had beat them there. They summoned the fallen Dragon Warrior Sebastian, who had turned into an actual dragon while he resided in the Twilight Realm. A long battle ensued between the Explorers and the dragon, and several demons were summoned to fight as well. In the end, Della attempted to toss a potion to Veneficus that Sebastian devoured instead. However, the potion's faulty nature caused it to explode inside Sebastian's throat, killing him. The group obtained the Sword of Power, but the Bordix took notice of Sebastian's dragon nature and took his skull to be used for the Fused Shadow. The Group left for the Badlands, homeland of the Bordix; so that they could stop Dalgar, the leader.

(Night 8)
Upon arriving, Jack and Jakub were stopped at the entrance to the Badlands by Tenebris for a battle. The rest of the group continued on until Pravo and Zliva, having possessed Della's parents, trapped Della, Shinceon, and Drimaethor in another battle. The remaining 7 adventurers made it to the tower, where each of them had to overcome a temptation in the spirit world. All but Zeph succeeded, and Dark Zeph was manifested from the evil in Zeph's heart. While Guzore, Sapphire, Shia, Cassie, and Ferondir battled Dark Zeph, Veneficus went to the top of the tower to fight Dalgar.

Zephyrus, preferably Zeph, was sitting with his back against a tree facing the Mira Lake, pondering whether he should tell Ferondir or not. He expected Him to want to "prepare" for going on such a long journey, with a prize that may or may not exist.
He closed the spell book he was skimming and set it down next to him.
Maybe I should just go myself? If I had something I'd just send word to him, and have him meet me.
Its going to be dangerous, but I know I can make it myself! It'd be safer for him that way anyway. He still has practicing to do.
No! No! What am I saying? I cant possibly leave him. I'll tell him the situation, and wait till he's ready!
...
But...
What if h-
No. I'm doing this. He can do this.
We can do this.
Its only at Gregal Lake, that isn't too far.

Zeph picked up his spell book, and put his Magic Bag back on, and headed back home.

(Here are what everyone typed for their character bios by the way, in case anyone wanted to see each others.)

Della Collern:
Della grew up in Hyrule in a bustling town. She is learning how to make potions and poisons, but she's not very good at it. She has trouble finding ingredients and finding outfits that don't clash due to the fact that she's color blind. She is pretty young but has a taste for adventure.

Zephyrus:
Zephyrus, or Zeph as he prefers, grew up with a rather privileged and quaint childhood in Mira Village. Although there weren't many Kids around his age he liked that lived there, that didn't matter to him, He found no interest in befriending such childish and irrelevant little people. Instead, he spent his time practicing many forms of magic, a natural gift he was born with, that came easy to him. His 'gift' began developing at a very young age, the farthest he can pinpoint it back is the age of 5, when he made rupees appear out of a jar without even breaking it or when the color of one of his eyes began to change into an unnatural shade and glow. Of course, his parents dismissed it at the time, Although they wouldn't make that mistake again. By the age of 7 He had set an entire forest on fire while trying to make a tornado, it took a rather lot of the towns resources to put out. To this day, that fire still haunts him. It had killed his father. Shortly after that, his mother had died. He now lives with his Grandmother, who has helped him greatly in his magical practices. By the age of 16, he has become a master in healing magic, as well as alterational spells. He still takes great pleasure in experimenting with his work, and now he actually has fun with it, because he now has a best friend that shares his similar interests. Although the main difference between them would be the fact that Zeph still is a bit... Chaotic... with his magical abilities. He finds humor in playing pranks on other people with his magic, and sometimes he forgets that he CAN go to far, and that not everyone is as skilled as he is with his natural ability. Although he does have a good moral compass, sometimes he can still be a bit selfish, immature, envious, vengeful, egotistical and prideful. especially when it comes to his magical ability. Although most of the time, he will be charismatic, charming, fun loving, and nice.

Dimaethor:
Raised by zoras and grew up to become a ranger. Loves a good party.

Guzore:
Guzore grew up liking to explore places searching for treasure and unique artifacts. He was a very curious child, and this often caused him to get into trouble. When he was older, he read about Hyrule's lore and decided to open up a shop someday. When he was 17, he moved to Arbor Harbor and opened up a trade/craft shop called "Guzore's Goods."

Jakub Wilks:
A merchant traveling tradesman. He trades over land and over water (On his trusty ship the wind rider). He rejected his noble blood and has been forging his own path since. He ran away from home and hot shiprecked on Toro Island where he was partially raised by some local Zoras.

Ferondir:
Grew up in Mira Village, ran into the forest (west Faron Woods) and was attacked by a Stampig. It mangled his left arm which is now useless. Trained as a wizard.

Jack Gallows:
Jack has always been a troublemaker, but now that he's out of jail, he wants to earn his fortune out in the wilderness. That decision was helped when he was evicted from his house by the guards.

Aquario:
Kidnapped as a child by pirates who killed his parents. He is now cursed to be unable to breathe underwater. He has been friends with Dimaethor ever since he escaped from his captors.

Re: [Invite-Only] Legend of Zelda: Explorers of Hyrule RPG

Postby AngelOzwin » Thu Jun 11, 2015 8:18 am

He was going to fail, he just knew it. He wasn't ready for such advanced magic. His mentor knew this, so why was he giving Ferondir the final test?

Ferondir dropped the small papyrus scroll on his bedroom table, he'd just have to study harder. He turned to his bookshelf, and then slumped down into his small wooden chair, defeated.

There was no way he could get that good in two months. His ordinary practice was to structured and fabricated. He needed the randomness and unexpected situations that only come from the real world. But that would mean he'd have to venture past the bounds of Mira Village. He's never even gotten close to the border, except once. And the Chief would not accept training as a good enough reason to go on a journey. No one round here ever goes on such journeys, what are the odds someone would need a trained wizard in this quiet town? Maybe he could lie and say he wanted to take revenge on the creature that took his arm. No, that's too obvious; the chief would see through that immediately.

"I'll have to try and figure something out," he said to himself. "I must pass that test."

He retrieved the scroll, which had rolled off the table and placed it gently on the bookshelf. Anything out of place bothered him, and he always noticed such things.

Studying again? Stop worrying about it!
Zephyrus said suddenly appearing, leaning on the door frame and chuckling about how desperate Ferondir looked.
You're a good Wizard. You've been learning magic since you were a kid- just like me - and we're pretty dang good at it. You're not going to fail. But still, I don't even see why you're taking a test.
Zeph, who considers himself a good wizard because magic came naturally to him, a gift he was born with, always thought the concept of having some sort of "tutor" was very frivolous- and he never missed a opportunity to point it out to Ferondir.
You could do what I do, and just learn as you go! You do better without him always making a fuss about every little thing you do wrong, anyway!
You see, Zeph was never overly found of Ferondir's Mentor anyway, although he refuses to admit why. He would also never admit the fact that Ferondir is the one that actually knew how to fix Zephs disasters he caused with his magic, and he is also very grateful for that. But again, he would never admit it.
You have 2 months to prepare for the final test, and you can do it just fine! I mean yeah, itll be tricky. But you'll do just fine, it's all Alteration magic anyway.
Alteration did always come easy to Zeph, and he refused to understand why it was so hard for Ferondir.
I mean, don't get me wrong. I'd never take the test, thats more your thing.
As he was saying, he held out his hand, and the Papyrus Scroll zoomed over to his hand, now- looking rather pleased that it worked this time- he unraveled it and began to read it.
Now, about a different journey.
At this, he awkwardly began pacing as he stammered on and on about one thing or another- he never was a good liar.\
"Well... y-you see- the thing is- I mean not IS- but more like-" "But then I'd hear- well no- I mean YES, I did hear about it-"
After about 5 minutes of this rambling he finally got to the point.
Ugh
He slouched down into a chair.
Okay, here's the problem. So, I'd been debating whether to tell you or not. I knew you wouldnt want to go this far, but-uh-its really worth it when you hear what it is.
I... I heard a rumor.

I heard about a mansion just south of Zora's Domain containing a library full of spellbooks and magic tomes. and when I say full, I mean FULL. Like, more than he would even know. Its a serious jackpot of magical information. The only problem is that... its-well...
It falls on the day of the test. thats the only time we can go, or else it just doesnt... open.
Expecting Ferondir to be mad, he instinctively put his spellbook of "Mana Shields and Mahogany" onto his lap once he finished.

Postby AngelOzwin » Thu Jun 11, 2015 12:22 pm

Ferondir sat back in his chair, thinking. "The alignment," he muttered. He thought he might know exactly what spell was used to seal the place.
He wasn't angry, this was exactly what he was hoping for.

"I suppose I could ask to do the test afterword," He said.
"I'm sure my mentor will understand, I mean, this would be perfect. It's just what I need; the perfect excuse to use what I've learned for something other then tests."

He stood up, and perused through the titles on his book shelf.

"You had nothing to worry about. I'd be glad to go with you."

At that moment, his finger found a large green volume.

"Aha! Here it is, we'll need the Spotter's Guide to the Wildlife of Hyrule, and the Encyclopedia of Medicinal and Edible Plants."

As he said this, he pulled the appropriate books from the shelf and set them on his desk.

He grabbed several more books and then looked up at his friend.

"I'll need to ask my mentor if we can change the date."

He absentmindedly straightened the books, and pulled out a clean scroll of paper and his favorite quill pen.

"Audire et scribere," he whispered to the quill.

It floated from his hand and hovered above the paper, waiting.

He related the situation to the quill, which wrote down what he said. He finished with "Your faithful student, Ferondir."
Then he said "Satis."

The quill fell with a small clatter onto the table.

He took the parchment, rolled it up, took his staff from it's place in the corner, and held it's tip to the letter.
"Istud magisterum."

Bright green flame devoured the parchment and the fire flew out the window, en rout to Ferondir's mentor.

"That's that," he said.
"If we're going all the way to the edge of the Zora's domain, we'll need to prepare. I'll meet you back here at sunrise. Be ready." He said goodbye to his friend and sat on his bed.

He cracked a smile. It looked as though he was going to get the wild training he needed, after all.

Re: [Invite-Only] Legend of Zelda: Explorers of Hyrule RPG

Zeph found himself rather giddy as he left, and to his surprise, he found that he was actually rather excited for this adventure.
Maybe he's right. This will be a learning experience. And one that I cant screw up this time.
He walked along the edge of the lake for quite a long time, deep in thought.
After about half an hour, he concluded that he had doubtlessly been bored out of his mind, and thus he was on his way home.
UGH He exclaimed, as he looked at the sky.
How is it already night?! I still need to gather my compendiums and epitomes! There is NO way I'll be ready to pack!
He knew very well that he'd have to pack early, the last time he left and didn't pack he found that everything he had packed last-minute had vanished.
And with that, he rushed home, but not before he stopped to look at the Loftwings. That, and he left his "100 and 1 ways to use your psychic abilities comprehensively!" book back outside Ferondirs house.
I'm never going to be ready for this he said, bemused.

Later that day, Zephyrus and Ferondir set off southward towards Arbor Harbor to get supplies. It was a good 45-minute walk down the coastline of Lake Hylia. It was a bright and sunny day, but the trees provided some nice shade for people to walk in. It was a very quiet walk for the first 20 minutes or so, but it didn't last long.

Suddenly, two Deku Babas sprouted out from in front of Zeph and Ferondir!
(I just rolled the dice for those, so it's a complete coincidence they're both the same enemy. Now Zephyrus has a wooden sword as a weapon, which inflicts 1 damage; and Ferondir has a wooden spear, which inflicts 0.5 damage but can strike two foes in one hit. Will you both attack or run from the battle? Each Deku Baba has 1.5 Health.)
