"Did you know my mummy?" He asked, voice becoming quieter and croakier.

[Light Bringer]

"I uh...yeah...a little bit." Sam admitted quietly, after clearing his throat.

[L U C I F E R]

"What was she like?" He asked, eyes welling up slightly.

[Light Bringer]

"She was nice and all she wanted to do was protect you."

[L U C I F E R]

Lindal bit his lio, a lump forming in his throat. He wiped his eyes with the backs of his hands before sniffling and going quiet.

[Light Bringer]

Sam took one hand off the wheel to gently hold Lindal's shoulder. "I'm so sorry Lindal but there's not much anyone could have done, at least not any of us normal people."

Lindal pressed his cheek against Sam's hand, feeling safe when he felt his touch. He closed his eyes and tears rolled down his youthful cheeks, face turning pale but also a sad red.

"I'm sorry." Sam said once more, gently wiping the tears from Lindal's cheeks. He then pulled over at a nice looking burger place.

Lindal sat for a moment in the car, bring g his knees up to his chest, little, bare feet curling around the edge of the seat. He wiped his eyes again with the heels of his hands.

"Would you like to stay here while I order or do you want to have a break then come with me?" Sam asked, tilting his head and looking at Lindal.
