"Uh, yeah," Caitlin said and sighed slightly, she didn't want to talk to either of them, she had purposely been ignoring them all day which she did often. She texted her mom and she almost instantly texted back.
"8 minutes," Caitlin said looking up at Jordan and his dad.

"That's too dangerous, even if you run." Jordan's dad said. "Would you be okay here for a night or two?" he asked. "Would your parents let you?" Jordan sat on his chair and looked at Caitlyn, wondering how long until she could get home.

Caitlin stood there frozen."I, uh, I don't know I have to ask.."Caitlin said. She looked at Jordan.

"Go ahead." Jordan's dad said, still standing in the doorway. Jordan looked down, wondering what would happen.

Caitlin stared at Jordan for a moment, then texted her mom. She told her there was a bad blizzard coming and she wasn't gonna be able to make it home in time and asked if she could stay the night. Caitlin looked up from the phone her mom was already responding. She didn't bother to tell her mom it was at Jordan's house, her mom would scream if she found out, he was a boy. She waited a moment before her mom finally finished her text. IT said she could but she had to come home! eventually.
"Uh, my mom said I could stay..."Caitlin said in a softer voice.

Jordan's dad smiled. "Okay, I best be gettin' dinner ready, then." he said. He left the room, though he kept the door half-way open. "Well, uh, I can see if we have an extra mattress to put on the floor." he suggested. "To make a pallet."

"Ok," Caitlin said, as Jordon's dad walked away," Thanks!"Caitlin looked at Jordan.
"He, didn't mean in...here did he?"Caitlin looked at Jordan and asked slightly confused. She thought it was kind of his father though to let her stay. He reminded her of her father slightly, he seemed kind and caring. All the sudden Caitlin missed her dad more than ever, she resisted the urge to cry. She looked at the ground than whipped her eyes and looked up and smiled.
"Heh, my eyes are watery, allergies maybe," Caitlin said quickly.

Jordan nodded. "Yeah, probably." he said, though he could tell that Caitlin was sad about something, he didn't want to press her. "Well, uh, i'll get a pillow and some sheets." he said, walking towards a closet. He pulled out a pillow, sheets, and a blanket. Just then, his dad called from downstairs. "Hey, Jordan, a little help here?" Jordan tossed the things in his room and made his way downstairs. He followed his dad's voice to the basement and found his dad trying to lift a mattress up the steps. Jordan helped him get the mattress up, and his dad suggested that they would have Caitlin downstairs, in the den. They set the mattress in front of the television, and Jordan went up to grab the sheets.

Caitlin walked out of his room and into the hallway as Jordan came in to get the sheets. She looked down the hall Jordans room was the first of 3. She figured the one on the end was his fathers but wasn't sure. She looked the other way where she saw the steps leading into the basement. She looked back at Jordan and smiled as he walked out. Marck walked into the hallway and stopped in front of Caitlin. She reached out her hand to pet him, he was just the sweetest dog, she wondered if he would get along with Jazz.

Jordan came back downstairs to help his dad assemble the make-shift bed. Jordan then walked to a window and opened the blinds to see the snow. It was coming down in large flakes. It wasn't sticking yet, but he knew there would be tons of snow in the morning. It had been in the thirty's this morning, and Jordan guessed it was probably in the twenties now. He closed the blinds back up, and called for Marck. He decided it would be best to let the dog out now instead of later, when the snow was sticking and becoming colder. Marck happily romped outside in the snow, his brown fur collecting white specks. Marck froze and began sniffing until he rounded the corner of the porch and Jordan had to step outside. He slipped on his boots, which had been set by the door, and pulled his sweatshirt hood over his head. He walked outside and noticed Marck sniffing at a hole in the ground. Geez, the snow was already sticking! There was a clump of white snow in the hole, and more clumps around the yard. Jordan walked up to Marck and examined the snow. He bent down to pick up a handful of it, when it jerked upwards. Two beady black eyes stared up at him, and a pink tongue flapped out of the puppy's mouth. "Dad, Caitlin, get out here!" he called, holding a hand out. He decided to wait until his dad got out to handle the puppy, but he was sure that it wasn't sick.
