Missy circled the large-ish cage she claimed as her own when Nikki dropped her off. She didn’t quite remember her, but she slightly missed her. She noticed someone walk by, a child. She ran to the front a started barking, the child hiding behind her mother. The mother gave a scared, yet evil, look at her. Missy didn’t seem that sorry. That wasn’t her owner. She couldn’t right her wrongs. She went back to circling.

Picasso was resting his large head against his paws, eyes closed softly. His ears twitched occasionally at the sound of paws pattering around, claws scratching the floor. Slowly, he opened his eyes and lifted his head searching for the sound. It was another dog, pacing and circling their cage. Suddenly, she charged and began barking and Cass' retreated his head, lowering back once again.

The woman shifted around in her decent size bed, light shifted through the room. She had forgotten to close the blinds again. Running her palm across her face, she gingerly opened her eyes and lifted herself up, resting her back again the wall. ' I should really start to get more sleep.' Nic scrunched her face, brows furrowed. She was sure she had something to do today. What was it? Her eyes widened and she glanced at the digital clock beside her bed. She was going to be late. On her first day. Throwing off her duvet, she fumbled out of bed and grabbed the first arcticle of clothing she could find. Black jeans. Shaking her head, she pulled them on, 'I'm sure they're clean.' Hopping to the bathroom, Nicole quickly brushed her teeth and lightly sprayed some fruity perfume on her neck and her wrists. Running her wrists together, she threw on a navy blue hoodie, grabbed an apple and pocketed her phone and keys, before leaving her small apartment.

Missy glared at the dog that seemed scared of her. A few other humans passed, and, Missy being Missy, barked at them, attempting to break out of the enclosure. After about an hour of attempting to escape, she finally gave up. Missy layed down on the cold, concrete floor and fell asleep.

A frustrated sigh fell from her lips as she glanced at the bright numbers above the elevator. Floor 14. This was 12 above her own. Taking a bite of her apple and then wiping her mouth with the back of her hand, she hurried towards the stairs. Leaping two stairs at a time, she was on the first floor and outside on the pavement in record time. Reaching deep inside the back of her pocket, she grabbed her phone and glanced at the time. If she hurries, she should make it. Nicole didn't particularly want to go but she wasn't going to lose the bed so soon - her pride wouldn't let her. Following the directions that her phone provided, she threw her apple core into the trash can and wiped her hands on her jeans. Looking up at the building, she pursed her lips. Here goes nothing.
