➸ Literacy & Posting │This is a pretty active roleplay so if you don't have time and don't want to go through pages and pages then please don't join. I ask you use proper punctuation and spelling, I don't expect it 24/7, we all make mistakes. Please do not use images in any of your character posts, or links, some people can't access the page when links and images are trying to load.

➸ Forms & Characters │ Please provide your own forms, do not steal others form. you can ask to use others forms, but if they say no, you can't use them. Put their name somewhere on the page for credit to the maker of the forum. If you cannot provide the following list correctly you won't be accepted into the roleplay, please include name, age, gender, breed, height and personality. On history don't put unknown or doesn't want to take about it. On personality don't put will roleplay out, it's confusing for some people.

➸ Breeds & Sizes │ You can roleplay any breed here, but I would like it if you stayed away from big draft horses eg. Friesians, Percherons. You may use images of any breed for your forms I think we can figure it out if you list a different breed in you forum, we can use our imaginations if the image you provide isn't quite the breed.

➸ Age Limits │ In this rp, your horse can live to be twenty-seven years old and no older. Mares will not be able to breed after the age of 18, if they are breed they die when giving birth. It is of course entirely up to to decide when and how your characters die; this is just here as a general guide for those who don't go out in a dramatic blaze of glory. If you have any horses you don't want anymore you can have them shot by a rancher, but before tell me or the co-owner before doing so.

➸ Signatures │ I must ask that you disable your signatures on this thread. Not only does it give the thread a seamless feel, but myself and others often access the site via mobile device and it helps cut back on lag and loading time greatly. I have my signature seeing off so if you see someone with it on please message me or the co-owner so we can handle it.

➸ Discussion Thread │ All forms and any out of character chatter should go on the discussion thread, Discussion Forum. I'd like this thread to just be roleplay responses, but you can chat every now and then.

➸ Twins │I'll allow two pairs of twins to be born each year in the roleplay; send me a message or make a request on the discussion thread if you would like to claim the slot. It's first come first serve; whoever asks first will get the slot, however I'm not opening it for this first year until some herds are formed and such.

➸ Seasons │ The season will change every thirty pages; if this needs to be altered in the future, it will be, but for now this is the schedule.. I will write on the discussion page whenever seasons are switched so nobody forgets.

Spring, the season of new life. temperatures rise to a comfortable level, snow melts away, revealing new growth, and animals come out of hiding. In spring, mares are beginning to go back into heat, and some late foals may even be born. New herds are forming, old ones expanding, while yearlings venture away from home to find their own place in the wilderness. Rain is common, and clouds always dot the sky.

In summer, days grow long and hot. Nights are short, but offer a few hours of comfortable temperatures. Many horses migrate toward water sources or shade, seeking to hide from the afternoon sun. Mares are still in heat, though by this point all foals from the previous year will have already been born. Stallion are still on the search for more mares, while lead mares move the herd to a cooler location. Despite the heat, summer is an active season. Young stallions show off, yearling mares get whisked away, and band stallions are daring enough to attempt stealing a mare or two. Rain is not common in summer, and if it does it is often a warm, heavy rain that lasts only a couple hours at most.

[✕] Autumn [✕]
With autumn comes the return of cooler temperatures. Nights and mornings are chilly, hinting at the freezing months to follow. Rain becomes more common, and the colors of the land begin to fade. Turning from dark green to vibrant oranges and reds, until the earth is taken over by a dull gray. Mares are rarely in heat during autumn, but those covered in spring may start to foal. Should this happen, there is a slim chance that said mares may go into heat for the remaining weeks of autumn, but may not always accept a stallion.

[✓] Winter [✓]
Winter, snow coats the ground, the earth is blanketed in a glistening white, and temperatures drop. Foals can be born throughout the winter months, however not all will survive the freezing the temperatures. Mares are never in heat, and stallions are calm, instead fighting against predators whom may use the horse's weakened state to attack. Food must be dug out from under the snow, and thin layers of ice may have to broken to reach water.

castiel stayed beside gunner searching for food, the buckskin mares coat had a very thin layer of snow on it.

Chrom stood next to Victoria, close enough so that their flanks were touching. Now that winter was here, snow has come and covered the lands. Not only has the temperature dropped considerably, but food was much harder to find. He nudged Victoria and walked to where Flicka was standing, nickering to Cypress as he passed her. He stopped next to his lead mare and groomed her withers, keeping an eye on what was going on around them. Winter has already affected his herd, they lost Beatrice. Chrom knew that there was nothing that he could have done, but still felt guilty that the filly died in his care. He stopped grooming Victoria and looked to his own daughter, Charity. She was small, but strong. Winter was a harsh time, and Chrom was going to do whatever he could to keep everyone safe.

She stood in the middle of a vast meadow, Maddox nearby. The meadow was empty, every inch of grass was covered by a layer of snow. She couldn't see any other horses, which she thought was a bit strange. She shook out her mane to get some of the snow out and shivered. Her fur has grown thicker over the past weeks in preparation for winter, but she was still a bit cold. She turned and walked over to Maddox was, standing close to him so their flanks touched and they could share their warmth. She was glad that Maddox was here, she trusted him and knew they were going to get through this winter together.

She stood close to the rest of the herd, looking for something to eat. She used her hoof to dig through the snow, pushing it to the side so she could get to the good stuff underneath. After a bit of digging, she was able to uncover some vegetation. Satisfied, she flicked her tail and lowered her muzzle to graze on what was there.

perseus snorted, small bits of snow stuck to his muzzle when he pulled it out of the small reservoir of wet snow. snow stuck to his whiskers while he munched on the little bit of remaining foilage. perseus flicked his thick blonde tail, his head turning gradually to scan the horizon. he could smell a few horses quite a ways away. perseus emitted a loud, powerful neigh, his ribcage bouncing with power. he stomped a hoof with a shake of his mane. he had hoped someone, anyone, would pay him a visit. -open-

Khari kept his head low, his ears pinned back as he dug through the snow. A biting wind was like a thousand flies, biting him all at once. Snorting, the young stallion looked up, as he continued the search for food. He heard a crunch in the snow, but it was only the dun horse beside him. Khari returned to the patch of green beneath him, pulling at the grass which was clinging to life. Winter had never been his favourite time of year, but at least he had company. Khari was sure he'd be driven mad without his younger brother.

Talon crunched through the snow, straight past his brother. He'd spotted a small patch of daisies on the edge of the tree line, protected by the shelter the trees had provided. The young dun trotted over, flicking his tail in delight, the wind didn't seem to bother him much, and he could never guess why Khari hated it. Talon lowered his head and began to pull at the flowers, taking his time to eat them. Imagine having a heard and providing for them too, Talon wondered as he ate. Winter was hard enough for two horses, never mind more.

Listening to the sound under her feet, Rikke headed toward the last source of water, which she knew, hadn't frozen over. The young mare had tried her hardest to stay out of the herd's way, knowing full well some mares still had foals at foot. It was hard work she guessed, seeing a foal through winter. Her own dam had struggled, though somehow, Rikke felt, it had given her a certain sense of braveness, that she could conquer anything if she could survive winter. Nickering quietly, Rikke moved into a trot as she neared the water, desperate to drink.

Kaja looked up, water dribbling from her chin. Snorting she looked round at Barrow, as his little tail flicked back and forth. They were in a wooded grove, that still had bare patches that had melted that morning. Kaja knew that by the afternoon however this would be snow covered so she was making the most of it. The buttermilk mare was also aware that predators may still be lurking, and that Barrow was vulnerable.

The appaloosa colt played happily, putting in bucks and reads as his dam ate. Barrow had been a late foal, yet he had certainly piled on the weight and Kaja was confident she'd get him through winter. Barrow was lonely though, never having a friend to play with. He wandered with his dam, from place to place. Yet right now, Barrow only cared about playing in the dusting of snowflakes, kicking his heels up in delight. He squealed and pranced, getting thoroughly excited about the whole deal.

Muscles trembling involuntarily, Ares shook out his mane. This winter, while still early, was extremely cold. Lowering his nose to the frozen ground, he exhaled a number of times before striking at the dirt with a large hoof, hoping to free a piece of grass... or anything edible. Shaking his head lightly, he raised it again, looking over his mares. So far, they seemed to be well and healthy... But the winter was young still. Turning to Ebony, he nickered to her softly. "How are you both?" he asked, touching a nose to her shoulder.

Sighing, the warm breath coming from his nose like the steam from a train, Zeus glanced back to Kezek, the cold, almost dead waste of the once green land beyond worrying to him. The chances were, she would foal before the spring, and that would be a huge danger for the pair. Nickering softly to her, he moved closer to her, touching his nose to her shoulder. "Should we move away from this area?" he asked, his voice soft, caring. There was no food to be found here, but, chances were, there was no food to be found anywhere. Casting a quick glance out to the desolate landscape around them, he scanned for any sign of life, and, when there were none, he looked back to the mare again.

Nudging her filly closer to her to feed, Alcyone groomed Aura's dark coat, worriedly casting a glance over to Perrie. Food was now scarce, and, even though she had eaten almost gluttonously during the last few weeks of autumn, that would not last forever. As she grew hungrier, her milk would dry up, which might be fatal for the fillies.
The filly, her belly now filled, moved away from her mother, her fluffy tail flicking happily. The world was colder now, but she didn't mind. She had her little friend, and the large thing that looked like momma who looked over them. Tiny hooves tapping on the frozen ground, she pottered up to the large stallion, completely fearless of her father. A tiny, high nicker bubbled up her throat as she raised her nose, dished like her mothers, up to his large one.
Alcyone watched her daughter for a moment, a small smile on her features, before turning to search for Perrie. Nickering to the dark filly, now growing strong, she began to groom the filly's coat, inviting her to feed... While she could.

Her ever-growing stomach swaying behind her, Athena strode forward, ears flicked back in clear annoyance. Trust a show horse to stick around while she was in heat, then flee once she was pregnant. She had woken from a sleep one morning to find the stallion gone. Flicking her pale tail against her swelled side, she paused, catching her breath. Deciding to try to find some water, she pushed her tired body into a trot, dark eyes searching for some sign of a still flowing water source. Eventually coming across a little stream that was still fighting to stay flowing against the coming cold, she lowered her head, taking a long, freezing drink. Leaving her head low with a sigh, she began to move forward again, tail clamped against her rear in a clear sign of unhappiness. Even if she were to find a herd to aid her through this winter, if this foal were a colt, their life would be in danger from the stallion. Shaking a pale forelock out of her eyes, she pulled her head up in a form of determination. She would survive this winter. And she would survive it alone. Then she would raise her son or daughter alone.

Watching Sumia dig up some vegetation to eat, Hera flicked her tail, raising an eyebrow as the mare actually managed to dig up something edible.
