As you know, HRWHC is the leading facility for training and showing in the Western ring.
We pride in having winning horses and riders in reining, barrel racing, gymkhana, and much more.
Upon your arrival, you will be placed into a bunkhouse based on your application type.
You will be allowed to bring two horses, as well as a dog or cat provided it is well-behaved.
You have a week to reply, and two weeks to arrive on the premises.
We anticipate your arrival and look forward to seeing you thrive here.

↠↠↠↠The Best Place on Earth for Western Riders

HighRidge West Horse Center is exactly as it sounds in the letter, and more. Big barns for the students' and teachers' horses, rustic-yet-cozy bunkhouses, wide fields and arenas, and acres and acres of wild places to ride and explore. The atmosphere is generally laid-back, but there are a few rules.

↠Don't board stallions and mares in the same barn/arena/pasture. Geldings with mares are fine.
↠Two horses per rider, unless you are a teacher/other employee
↠Only well-behaved dogs and cats are allowed
↠Don't wander alone, or make sure someone knows where you are going.
↠No guys in girls' bunks, and vice verse.

↠↠↠↠But Paradise is Overcast

The bunks are not just stratified by gender, but by application process as well.

↠The Legacies: These riders have connections or money that got them in, usually both. Either one of their parents/grandparents attended, or said persons donated to the Center. Maybe not the best riders or people, but their stuff and horses are top-notch

↠The Elites: these guys got in on skill. They've been riding since birth and are at the top of their game. They tend to stay in a tight clique.

↠The Charities: ok, their official name is the scholarship recipients, but everyone calls them the charities. They may not have cash, connections, or a ton of skills, but they've got the will to persevere and succeed. They're the most likely to use school horses.

These groups tend to compete, and sometimes that competition grows a bit sour.....

The horses and other animals tend to band together as well, but based on their own rules.

Welcome to this Western-themed horse RP! There will be drama, romance, danger, and much more! However, for things to go smoothly, there needs to be a few ground rules.

1. Dogs and cats are not actual RP characters. They are just pets. Everything they do needs to be RP'ed from the horse/person's POV.
2. Yes, horses are RPable. Yay!
3. Please follow all CS rules in regard to violence/language/intimacy
3. If your human is going to use a barn horse, PM the teacher who owns that horse

May snook out of her cabin, almost as silent as a mouse. She tossed herself over the fence to the Breaking Arena, right next to Aero. The huge Clydesdale neighed, spooked. “It’s fine, bud.” She whispered. “Easy.” Carlo, her pitbull, noticed his owner was gone, and began barking his muzzle off, giving her away. “Crap.” She said, and threw herself over the fence, and dashed back her cabin, barely missing everyone’s sight.

Backstory: Ryan has always been a hard worker with natural talent. He strongly relates to "The Charities" because he used to be in their shoes. His family had a small hobby farm in Utah, they owned horses and raised pigs. Ryan's father died when he was seven, and left his mom to run the farm. She sold all of their horses, and didn't buy more pigs the following year. Even after that, they still had no money. She overdosed two years after Ryan's father's death. 9 year old Ryan moved in with his aunt and uncle, who raised horses for a living. He finally got to pick up where he left off with his horsemanship skills. He got his first horse at age 14, that he trained with his uncle's help. Ricochet or "Rico" is Ryan's main horse, trained mainly in cutting but also gymkhana events. The pair finished in the Top 10 in the Utah Youth Cutting Circuit last year. He is moving to High Ridge for more opportunities in the horse industry.
