One early July morning we awoke to a gray sky full of drifting white flakes. It was a miracle, or so said the newscaster's who had been predicting another eighty-degree day. And for a little while, it was kind of fun, like a sort of Christmas in July. Little did we know, those innocent white flakes were just the beginning of something far worse.
The air grew colder in the weeks to come, and a deadly frost swept through and killed all the crops. The snow grew so bad, that by August heavy blizzards were trapping people inside their homes, leaving others stranded where they were. News came in daily about similar situations in other places, and then weekly, and then not at all. We prayed for salvation. For the cold to stop. But it never did...

We live in a world of snow now.
The cell towers are down. All the roads are blocked, too heavy with snow to plow. Most people are now without electricity, and heating has become a problem. And as what should have been summer rolls into what should have been fall, food is running low and medical supplies are scarce. Many people have died, and the closer it gets to winter, things are only getting worse.
Cut off from the outside world, we have to work together in order to survive. However, tensions are running high, and supplies are running low. And as the air grows steadily colder, our chance of survival slowly goes with it.
