"Sometimes, the hardest cases need nothing mare than a gentle hand."
Here at Briar Hill Acres, the focus is on troubled horses, and troubled people. The facility opens it's doors to sixteen people at a time, who they deem to have the 'touch' to work with the horses. Each person is assigned a horse, based on many factors, and that is their project while they are here. Every horse, and every human, has been through rough times, or stuck in a struggle. Both of them need help, a gentle hand. It is believed they can heal each other, teach each other.

Rules
Limit of 2 characters, one of each gender (unless we lack one gender)
No power playing, god modding, etc. Realistic, please.

One Main horse per person, I will soon add a list of Secondary horses that will allow people to have a Max of 2.

She hasn't been ridden in a couple years, and might be fresh as she hasn't been worked in so long.

Spot, although young, is one of the most bombproof horses here. He and Star came in together from a small trail riding facility not too far from the barn. His only flaw is he is petrified of puddles and anything water that isn't in his bucket. He will bolt, buck and freak over it til he can run away from it. Otherwise he is generally good, only at times being stubborn. Not at all clingy to other equines or his food.

____ is a very amazing in hand horse, and has the good start to driving. However due to a combination of a small injry as a foal and not so great conformation, she is unfit for riding under saddle. She is a very motivated horse, and loves to work, but she is easily confused with commands. Generally she gets along with most any horse, and accepts being were she is in the herd (Not alpha, not bottom. Comfortably in the middle). She sometimes gets distracted and/or forgets commands but she truely tries her hardest to please.

Rome, Once broke and ridden daily for re-enactments, fell into the hands of an elderly couple. She was ridden by the old woman up until she could ride now more. The big mare was always responsive and respectful, however they only ever walked. Due to the years of 'down time' she now refuses to go past a brisk walk. She'll stop and stand solid, sometimes ever dropping to the ground to try to roll her rider off. She's simply lazy, out of shape and rusty.

Chance hails from the same places as Rome. In his youth he worked in re-enactments, but as he aged he became unsuited to the job. When that happened, he was sold with Rome, who he had bonded with well. He was ridden by the elder man, and enjoyed time off of work. Now he's still in prime health, good to do anything, his only problem is being stubborn. He does not like exceeding a walk, and will gladly throw a rodeo if asked to do so. Also, he is very hard to catch in the field. He will not approach or stop for treats or feed. His handler simply must follow him around for 20-30 minutes before he'll stop and accept the halter with his grumpy old man attitude.

Star came along with Spot from a trail riding facility, where she was ridden consistently by many people. However she grew sour about being ridden, only after the thousandth newbie rider that thought they could kick her to be a "Real Cowboy". Since being shipped here she hasn't been ridden, which only fueled her sourness. She cannot be saddled without becoming rude, and dangerous at times depending on the tack choice. She'll gladly kick, squeal and let you know you're in the wrong. Though not being tacked up she's sweet, and loves attention. Though in the field she's low on the totem pole and allows others to push her around, so more often than not the boys will eat all the food and she hangs away from it. In addition, Dino claimed the mules and Donkey as his and bosses them around alot.

Thus he was sent here to be trained, however most of his problems are rider born. Clyde is very forward, and takes every jump like there's a dinosaur on his tail. He has no sense of speed, and likes to fly around even when he's breathing hard. He takes every command like it needs to be done on the spot, so when asked to slow he'll do a sliding stop. Gentle Turn left? You mean spin left super fast.

Versai is a very sweet mare, coming from a competitive barn that specialized in cross country. She obviously wasn't a high level competitor, but did very well in lower levels. After an incident that left her rider in critical condition and her with an injury, they found it best to rehome her to heal and start a no-jumping career. She currently is all healed up, but hasn't been ridden in a good year. She is very forward, and unaware her jumping career is over, so she must be retrained to a new discipline and tuned up. Also, she bonded to Romeo, and gets very sour if separated from him. Even in the cross ties she needs to be with him or she'll flip out and panic.

Ringo is a very noble equine. He watches out for everyone, and generally will never disobey. He is here for training/working since his owner is in college and doesn't have the time he deserves. He only rides "slow" western. No barrels, no pole bending. He will happily do trail obstacles without a single issue, he just doesn't enjoy racing and neither did his owner. Per Owner's request he is not to be used for Barrel racing or pole bending, and preferably not English though it's not a deal breaker. No jumping.

She shows great prospect, and will take anything with her head held high.

He currently needs farrier attention and a vet checkup, but cannot be caught to do so. He will not approach humans for food or treats, so you need to be creative to catch him.
