i love you (but i hate your friends).
these two boys have spent their whole lives living
across the street from each other. despite being
the best of friends, [1] and [2] run in very different
cliques. [1] is a male cheerleader, and [2] is best
described as a band geek. nobody is surprised
when [1] and [2] finally get together, after what
seems like years of avoiding it, but that doesn't
mean that [1]'s cheerleader friends necessarily like
[2], and some days, it seems like they'll find any
excuse to keep [1] away from [2]. when [2] finally
gets sick of it, he confronts [1] about it, but that
only draws them into their first fight ever.

let's sell our souls to rock and roll.
[1] has always has this wild dream of starting
a band, and near the end of the school year, he
finally made that dream a reality. the problem?
[1] sings and plays drums, sure, but he has no
idea how to play guitar. insert the new boy
next door, [2]. from the moment their parents
introduced them, they clashed. the two have
had an unspoken rivalry since day one, but
now, getting on [2]'s good side could make all
the difference- [2] just so happens to play
guitar and write lyrics. when [1] finally does
manage to convince [2] to at least try
collaborating with him, though, you can only
imagine his shock when he realises all of [2]'s
songs are love songs- directed towards him.

i'm taking my own route and i'm getting there.
[1] doesn't live on magnolia street- that's
just where he goes regularly to mow lawns
and pick up various other landscaping jobs.
including those at [2]'s house. he's been doing
all of [2]'s family's landscaping since eighth
grade, now, and seeing him on magnolia street
on a day to day basis is no longer shocking.
[1] and [2], though, have their own history in
and out of school. the last four years are best
described as an awkward flirting tango
between the two. the problem is that [2],
despite having two mothers, is nowhere near
out of the closet- he's afraid that if he comes
out, his mothers will be accused of turning
him gay somehow. a sheltered kid compared
to [2], [1] is out and loud and proud. he'd help
[2] come out, but even after both of them
establish their feelings, [2] is reluctant to
come out- and [1] doesn't know what to do
anymore, but he's sick of waiting.
