future by their parents; though who could find such a thing at a
masquerade ball? don't be surprised, but it is possible. you just

tonight, leilani only curtly nodded, already sick of her father blabbing his lips about the importance of this
night, and she pulled her dark hair over her shoulder, her hazel eyes meeting her father's chocolate brown
eyes. "mija, this is really important to not only you, but to our whole kingdom. how would the people react
if the princess refused to marry?" the princess let out a huff of annoyance, rolling her eyes yet again. "papa,
i don't refuse to marry, i just don't want to have to worry about that sort of thing yet. i am only 20. shouldn't i
be living my adult life to the fullest?" she pleaded desperately, still trying to find a way out of the ball. king
julius shook his head. "i know you don't want to do this, mija, but i'm sure derick would miss you if you didn't
attend." he finally cracked her, as he knew she would do anything for her best friend, who was the prince of

derick rolled his eyes as his mother tried to ease him into trying to find his queen tonight; he gave her an annoyed sigh. he was particularly excited to see leilani and andrei. he just hoped christopher and eryk didn't show up tonight, for he knew nothing nice would happen between them. "i get it, mother, i get it. let me go before i miss my flight," he said as he took off. derick soluted to his parents and dashed off, rolling his suitcase behind him. he got into his airplane just as the last call was waved over the intercom of the airport and sighed with relief.

he took his seat in first class and got comfortable before his flight. the flight attending explained everything and then said to turn off all electronics until they left the ground. he did so and then turned on his phone after a steady height was reached and texted leilani and andrei, "im heading out!"
