"Most of those girls are a bunch of female dogs anyway." He said. "But seriously, you are pretty." He looked out to the ocean casually.

Katie raised one eyebrow and glanced out of the corner of her eye at him. "Are you just saying that because you're looking for a girl or do you actually mean it?" she asked quietly, huddling up a bit now, scared that this could go badly now after she realized what she had said. But she didn't know what to think of him. I mean, he was the football captain! Surely he just liked chasing girls because they chased him, right?

"I'm saying it because It's true." Jake replied. "I'm not your stereo-type football captain who chases girls everywhere. I'll let my team-mates do that. And that sl*t Kandi." I took off my sunglasses. "God I hate her."


"Umm, excuse me?" Kandi shouted from behind them. Her small, revealing tank top and her tiny denim shorts showed her skinny body. "You're a one to talk Jake." As usual, she was followed by her '2 friends', AKA her possy. "You're the only guy who dumped me before I could dump you. And frankly, you're missing out buddy." She licked a red, round cherry lolly-pop. "And now you're hanging out with a middle-classer? Have you no class dude?" She gave them both an evil look, followed by fake laughing from her possy.

Katie smiled, blushing even more, but then turned around and looked at the girl, her expression dulled now. This obviously must be the Kandi girl, considering what she said and how she looked. "Like you're any better than him.." she mumbled under her breath, not expecting any one to hear her except maybe Jake since he was closest to her.

Kandi gave Katie an evil look. "Scram, middle classer." She looked Katie in the eye. "Beat it before I beat you." She didn't have to pretend to be all sweet and innocent in front of Jake, he already knew how much of a female dog she was. "I SAID SCRAM!"

Katie felt her face grow a bit hot and her heart beat pick up. Looking from Kandi to Jake she slowly stood up and crossed her arms. "And if I don't?" she asked blandly. This was her first year here, and already she was being pushed around. No, she wouldn't stand for that again. She had to actually try to be someone at this school. The last one no one but the few friends she had didn't really even know her name. Course her father's work took her to all kinds of new places, so she wouldn't be surprised to be moving next school year.

Kandi looked at her for about 8 seconds. "You're the new girl, aren't you?" She said with a mean tone of voice. "Well, in these circumstances, I'll let you off with a warning because you don't know the rules yet." She cleared her throat. "Rule number 1 - I am the queen bee here, the most popular and pretty girl. Number 2 - Do not challenge the queen. Number 3 - Stay out of my way. Number 4 - Challenge the queen only if you wish to be crushed. Number 5 - Break my rules or get in my way, and I will give you my special punishment. IS THIS CLEAR?" She yelled the last sentence.

Katie couldn't help but laugh a bit at the first 'rule', but kept it to herself. Pretty? Yea right. She was as skinny as a stick and colored hair. Now her face felt hotter and she realized that she was getting mad, not blushing from embarassment for once. There was a side to Katie that only really showed if you angered her. "Clear as mud," she mumbled, looking away now as she rolled her eyes slightly.

Kandi gave her a stern look. "Just stay out of my way, or get on my good side." She turned, and headed up the beach, her possy following her. "Wait girls." She said sternly. She picked up a notebook. Looking in it, she burst out laughing and threw it back into the sand.


"What did I tell you? Is she a female dog or what." Jake said, as the plastic barbie-doll wanna-be walked back up the beach.

Katie didn't even really have time to hear what Jake said for she saw Kandi look in her notebook and throw it into the sand. Her eyes widened and she quickly sprinted over, picking it up and brushing it off. Then she glared at her as she walked away and slowly walked back over to Jake, hugging her notebook close to her chest, hugging it basically. "She's going to.. I'm going.. She'll get.. Just.. Well nevermind," she muttered and sat down to where the waves almost reached her, sighing. Calming down she shook the sand out from betwen the pages of her notebook and flipped through them quickly to see if everything was okay.
