Board suggestion: Free art

I think this would be a good idea. Of cause people don't have to use it if they don't want too, ie if they want to sell. But for random gifts, because you wanted to at the time, it would be good.

I actually feel like if there were a free art board, it would discourage artists for charging as much as they deserve for their art, as people could most likely get free art of the same quality on the free art board. There is the argument that the art on the free art board would not be as good quality because its free, maybe this is true, but I feel there are enough artists who's art is good and have no reason to charge for it.

while I see what you mean, I don't see this being an issue. one, free art threads would likely not be guaranteed art- it's usually either first come first serve or based on the artist's personal choice. two, there's already huge demand for medium to high quality art. almost all decent quality art shops have slots filled instantly, regardless of price. I often offer free art, but when I open my art shop slots are still filled instantly(despite me charging advents and upwards).

I like this idea, I was thinking about opening up a free art thread as kind of a side thing but didn't really know where to put it. I've seen various free art shops in different sections of the forums, so it'd be really useful to have them all in one place.

Something like this was suggested, and I totally agree!
It would also be good for people seeking art as well. The Art Shop forum is clogged with lots of people asking for art, and I find it quite hard when searching for art shops.
I think an Art Freebie forum should include people who are offering free art, and those seeking art. It would be good to unclutter the Art Shop forum.

This is a wonderful idea!

I often find myself in need of art, but I don't necessarily need top notch quality and can't afford to buy such art either. I can never seem to find anyone offering free art, even though I know people are out there.

The other half of the time, I'm looking to channel my doodling into something productive, but I don't know where to go to offer free art either.

A free art board would solve all my problems. c:
