Time Display/CS time

Postby Jackulwulf » Sat Aug 06, 2011 10:49 am

Ok, so I am looking everywhere but I can't find where the CS server time is displayed, nor can I find where my actual time is displayed. Shouldn't these be displayed somewhere so someone can easily find them? If they are and I just can't see them then could someone point them out to me? Thanks.

You shouldn't need your time on CS since you are most likely on a computer that already has it in the bottom right side of the moniter... And it shows when you make a post:

And if you log out, all times on a post will be in CS time (or with GMT - http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/ ). Since everyone's account is set to their own time zone (or should be if set up properly) there is no need to have CS time shown.

K, yea I guess my local time doesn't need to be shown, but it would be nice to see CS server time easily so we'll know when server midnight is at a glance. Can be important for events.

Agreed. Gotta find a good spot to put it, though :).

Here's a little page I put on until we come up with a better idea: http://www.chickensmoothie.com/time.php

Just saw this, it's just a suggestion, but maybe right on the bottom of the page next to the bookmark topic button (in forums, the same place wien not in a forum, just about there.)

Starbase Typhon is a roleplay run by me, off site. It is Star Trek based (but not the new movies, as you will see) and it definetly needs people who are willing to be active, write with great grammar, and of course, are semi-literate or above. Format is play by Nova, which involves multi-person posts that are a different way of doing things that here of CS. But it's lots of fun, and we need long term people who will help us complete our missions. As the commanding officer of Typhon, I invite anyone who would like to give it a try to please apply! (Warning that quality of applications is strictly judged. Very strictly judged.) The link is in the image.

Unfortunately, there's not much room there on smaller screens.

Could always bury it. Not ideal, but I don't see any other place to put it either. Like at the top of the help page or as a default in 'view bookmarks'?

i'd better delete the suggestion i sent then, i didn't check again, silly me :p

edit: the neopets clock is a good example for this suggestion-
