Iurexes are a chimera of several different animals, commonly
with the body of a canine and the tail of a lion. They have
capsules that hold a bright fluid that is believed to be an
indication of their life span. They are vertebrates with
an external skull that grows as a solid fixture. The Iurex
typically stands at 36" to 60" at the shoulder, although
there are occurrences of pygmy mutations. Although warm-
blooded, the Iurex are hatched from eggs. They are creatures
of scientific experimentation and there have been no reports
of any surviving in the wild.

They are omnivorous scavengers, preferring meat.
However, despite their size, the Iurex are quite docile
and shy, prone to scaring easily. They are fiercely loyal
creatures and protective of their hatchers. When adopted
as pups or adolescents, weeks of bonding is required for
the Iurex to move on from its hatcher. Adult Iurexes are
difficult to rehome and can prove to be flighty, however,
it is not unheard of.
