What is a Paint Tail Dragon?

These cute little creatures are no bigger than a Great Dane at adulthood, but despite their size they are rather social and friendly. Most of their body is covered in a silk-like fur that has a waxy glaze to it to keep it from getting wet; the rest of their body is short fur, like on their face and tail. They have webbed toes and this makes them excellent swimmers. They love water but can not breathe underwater. Their ears are tall like zebra ears, helping them to hear another's call, which sounds much like a wolf howl. This creature loves to eat just about anything it can get its paws on. Their diet consists mainly of fruits and meats, though they will eat just about anything! This species hatches from an oval-like egg that will normally be covered in spots representing the baby's fur colors. Their fur is normally filled with colors of all sorts. Though uncommon, some have natural colors. They also have a paint-like substance that drips from their tail; this is caused from a gland that they have that constantly excretes this "paint" out of their bodies, as it is mainly a bacterial substance which could cause the creature to become ill if built. They also use their paint to mark them selves with patterns, symbols or markings which they use to identify one another.

Quick facts::

✧ Unnatural pelt colors are uncommon in this species, their fur is normally filled with bright colors and patters.

✧ All PTD's have a paint-like substance that drips from their tail tips; this is caused from a gland in their body that destroys Bactria and sends it out of the larger pores of their tail and drips down their long tail hairs. without this a PTD would become ill, however it is rare to see a PTD that doesn't have "paint" on its tail, these PTD's are either immune to illness or are filled with pestilence.

✧ Using their 'paint' they mark themselves as a child which they use to identify one another.

✧ It is rare to see a PTD with line edits.

✧ A PTD's egg shell has same colors on it that the PTD will have on it's fur.

✧ PTD's can also attract Peter Pan Syndrome (PPS). This means that they will not reach adult size.

✧ A PTD's tail is as long as its body; but is uncommon to see it shorter.

✧ Paint Tail's mate for life, and they breed only twice so choose their mate wisely!

✧ You may only own 4 adults and 4 child/PPS Paint Tail Dragon's for a total of 8.

✧ PTD's have zebra shaped ears so they can hear another's call that is closest to a wolf's call.

✧ An Adult PTD is about Great Dane sized, as a pup they are only about corgi sized.

✧ A Paint Tail Dragon's paint color stays the same its whole life and doesn't change.

Diet::

This creature loves to eat just about anything it can get its paws on. Their diet consists mainly of fruits and meats, though they have a love for just about anything! Some of their favorite foods is peaches, apples, pears, fish and strawberries. Fruits offer that natural sugar and juices that Paint Tail Dragon's love, the natural acids in fruits helps to clean their body of bacteria and helps to create that beautiful pain-like substance that drips from their tails. As well as fruit they love catching and eating sea food, oily fish help's improve the glaze on their coat which makes their fur more streamline for swimming and they use their thick claws to crack open any shellfish they find. Not all Paint Tail's are the same, each one is different with what it eats and favors.

Behavior::

Paint Tail Dragon's social & complex creatures that require lots of stimulation and interaction. They are generally quite bold and will be very curious to humans & other creatures. They love attention and they love to experience new things; they are open to just about anything. Still, it is common to see Smeargles that are shy or keep to themselves. Even though the majority of their species is friendly and social. They live in families, when a male Paint Tail is fully grown he will leave to find a single female where he will live with her family for the rest of his life, however females will stay with their real family their whole life. Often different families live close together in groups where they hunt and forage but sleep in the separate families often making dens in caves, leaves, bushes or trees. At times males will have to venture far to find a single female as they mate for life and breed only twice. When they breed the female will often lay 1-2 eggs but in very rare cases they have been known to even lay 3. Their child or children will inherit markings and colors from both parents but will have a unique paint color.

✧ Can have either natural fur base or generally made up of one base color.
✧ Will have just one paint marking or no paint at all.
✧ Can have major line edits.

General/Basic rules::
✧Respect artists/mods/other users.
✧Don't bribe/beg.
✧Don't steal.
✧Do not complain if you don't win.
✧If you do not wish to own your Paint Tail Dragon anymore PM the pound manager, for now OpalMutt.
✧Do not claim another's Paint Tail Dragon as your own.
✧You may only own 8 PTD's {4 adult} {4 child/PPS}
✧No spamming.
✧Do not ask to be an artist or moderator.
✧You may only apply for a custom when an artist slot is open.


Adopting/Re-adopting rules/Gifting::
✧Be polite please.
✧Make sure to follow the artist’s rules.
✧Make sure to follow general rules.
✧Contact the artist who made the PTD to ask permission to gift (you will also have to notify the archivist about this switch).
✧Have specific reasons for gifting [quitting, not enough time, etc.]
✧Do a mild revamp with artist permission.
✧Do not revamp your PTD without permission from the artist.
✧You may add items to your PTD. (no hair/fur changes)
✧If you are banned from our adoptable's we reserve the right to re-adopt your Paint Tail Dragon.


Aging rules::
✧Eggs hatch after 3-7 days.
✧Children are considered adults after 1 month of ownership unless they are PPS.
✧Aging will be automatically done.
✧All PTD's will be aged unless they are PPS.
✧You can only choose one child that you have breed to be a PPS.


Rarity rules:: (for artist's & GA's)
✧Follow the rarity guideline's to know what the difference between rarities are.
✧In total only 12 commons, 7 uncommons & 2 rares can be made each month, not including customs.
✧If either the owner or co-owner disagree with the rarity you will be asked to change the PTD.
✧If you do not change a PTD you will be removed as an artist or GA & banned.

Artist rules::
✧You may make yourself 2 customs.
✧You may use as many colors needed.
✧If you are leaving please contact owner and let us know.
✧You may not own more PTD's then everyone else.
✧You may make line edits.


GA rules::
✧You may make yourself 1 custom.
✧You can not make yourself a rare only common or uncommon.
✧You may serve until you make 6 Paint Tail Dragon's, not including your custom.
✧You must tell the owner when you are done your 6 PTD's so that they may remove you.
(if you don't and keep making them, you will be banned!)


Mod rules::
✧You may order 1 custom of any rarity for free.
✧Be nice and fair to those on the thread.
✧Tell the co owner or owner when you give someone a warning/strike/ban so that the list may be updated.
✧If you are leaving let the owner know.
