They'll be too blinded
By their superficial “me, me, me”
And far too narrow minded
To look forward and see
You, with all your issues
Eating away at your heart
Like termites burrowing in soft tissues
Hollowed and broken apart
That they neglected to mend
With their consideration
Like they're meant to do as a friend
Your heart, your castle, your creation
Crumbles and collapses
Beneath your forgotten feet
Like decaying stone palaces
And you'll fall from grace
Or perhaps you were pushed
By those with another face
Left crawling, then crushed
Like a bug under their words
But regardless you'll reach out to them
Grasping, clinging to cords
Through the discord and mayhem
And they'll neglect you
And pretend they don't realise
You're reaching through
And your diluted cries
And they'll outcast you
Despite all your pleads
Hidden in honeydew
Telling them what you need
Which shouldn't come as a shock
Just to feel included
But they'll talk their talk
And bury you with exclusion.
Feed it with worms
What's already known
With something simple that confirms
Too late eyes are stain
And lips sewn
But as far as they
Care to tell you're okay
Tell you to lift your chin
But the day
Is slowly creeping in
