Can't wait! I'm registering right now. What's everyone doing for Nano this time around? I'm going to be working on a very short novella thing, which is based on a dream I had three years ago; it involves a lot of shipwrecks. Otherwise, I might just work on my current project.

Stop it! You don't sound like an idiot. Anyways, a cabin is a group of users all doing Camp Nano together; it's their private chatbox, only accessible by them and the mods. If someone has a cabin, it means that they formed a chatbox and are its host.

That sounds pretty cool. Shipwrecks can be a lot of fun.

I'm planning to do camp nano, but I've had zero motivation for anything lately so I still haven't signed up, and I have absolutely no clue what I'm going to write. Also I'm going to fail miserably and stress out about it a lot because that's what always happens with nano.

Which roles do animals play in your writing?
Uhhh... None? The only writing of mine with animal characters I can think of is some crappy Warriors fanfiction from around fifth grade. I don't know why, I have no problem with animal characters, I just always end up writing about humans/humanoids.

*-* I did the same thing; the only animal characters are the warriors I did... but they were dogs instead of cats. xD

I mean, everyone has their own opinion, and they often clash. A writer could get feedback on a passage they wrote saying: 'beautifully worded; it's sheer poetry and I pictured everything perfectly. I love it!' and, on the same piece, have someone saying: 'it's nice, but you used too much "fluff". Tone it down and include more prose.'

How far do you think a writer should take their readers' advice?
This has bothered me too. I think that first and foremost, write for yourself. Readers are important and authors wouldn't really get anywhere without them, but you shouldn't let people influence your writing too much. If you do, you'll eventually stop writing your original story and basically be coping a fanfic.
But like, by all means, listen to advice. Even if you don't follow it, you'll have it for later. If it's something like "I like you could probably cut back on commas in this chapter" then go, read through, see if what they're saying makes sense. But if it's like "I don't like your descriptions at all" don't let it get to you.
Idk if any of that made sense, lol. I'm exhausted.
