I'm going to try write a blurb right here and now (:

A girl and her family narrowly escape death and make a run for it before [spoilering] [spoiled] [aspoil] and [spoilering] [spoil] for an undetermined amount of time. *cheesy grin*

Describe the story/series you're working on in one sentence.
In a universe where everyone has powers, a young man discovers that he is the world's first hero in hundreds of years, apparently destined to fight off all evil; however, he is slowly corrupted beneath the influence of a media that elevates him to the status of god, while his best friend is forced to watch his decline.

I have another "substory" in the same universe, lol:

In the late nineteenth century, an army doctor, dishonourably discharged after using a controversial medical practice to save lives, works secretly among the poor of London's East End despite having lost his medical license; when a series of gruesome murders take place, he is forced to partner up with an agent of the government he loathes so much in order to apprehend a dangerous serial killer.

I recently wrote a short story centred around dreams that I'm pretty happy with, but unfortunately I can't go into detail because I'm submitting it to a competition that doesn't allow one to publish any entries prior to the deadline, lol. I'll probably post it sometime next year when the judging's over.

Orphaned griffin is half dragon and destined to be king, but before he can claim the crown, he must face the old king and ends up losing friends and family along the way.

Basically it, LOL. Death is everywhere.
