What's Camp NaNo, like, what's the difference between that and NaNo?

Camp Nano is a version of Nano that runs during April and June, where you can set your own word goal, plus you have cabins which are basically groups of other writers you chat with when you should be writing. It's pretty fun! I'll probably be doing it this year, though as usual I'm going to fail miserably because that's how all things Nano go for me.

Camp Nano is during April and July, you can set your own word count, join a cabin and chat with people, and adjust your word count to whatever. I'm joining but I'll be doing a cabin with my friends on Nano. Maybe I'll do one with you guys during July.

Hello everyone! I'm Aubrey. I have recently won in Scholastic Art & Writing, (state, for now, national winners are being announced soon. Fingers crossed!) and I'm hungry for more. I am confused, and have only recently found out that I had such a gift. (I knew I was okay at writing, but not THAT good!) Any advice?

@GreywarenX, Aliria, TheSongOfTheStars: We should all make a cabin together, and along with anyone else from the LW who wants to join in. I think it would be pretty cool and ya'll can help my figure things about. XD

I just counted how many words I have in my story for Camp Nano and it's 4'677.
I think I should up my goal from 10'000 to maybe 15'000?
That just seems so much work though! DX

Hey, congrats! I entered the Scholastic comp this year, too, but didn't end up passing regionals, lol. Glad to see another scholastic competitor on the thread, though! :D Good luck with nationals - I'm sure you'll do great! What category did you end up submitting for?

I found out about my writing in a similar way as you, though it was for a different competition a super long time ago, lol. Just keep doing what you love, and my advice would be to remember that your writing is your own, and you aren't obligated to write for an audience if you don't want to. I had a problem like this around last year in which I went to a huge slump because I felt like I wasn't writing anything that "mattered", and I stopped writing for a long while because I was too embarrassed to do so. But then I decided to eff it and started writing for myself again, and I rediscovered my enjoyment in it. Sorry, I'm not too good at giving advice and I don't know if you have this same problem, lol, but I hope this helps a bit. Congrats again! :)
