Speaking of which, how do you all handle writing multiple stories at once, if at all? Do you focus on one story mainly, switch between them, have some sort of pattern,or just forget about some of them oops ?
Oh! That reminds me! I have stories I should be writing >.<' Ya. I'm not so great at writing multiple stories at the same time. I tried at one point, but it didn't go very well, as neither of them got any new words. Then I decided to give myself some motivation and set update times for one. The other one has fallen back, and now the current one is on hold because Life *sigh* I should really go write some more...

Do you tend to drop stories partway through? When do you drop them--outlining, rising action, falling action?
Yes. Mainly the rising action. I have a wonderful concept--bare bones--and I immediately dive into writing it without any further planning. I get to a certain point and start wondering where the story should be going, decide I don't know where it's going, and in trying to think of where it should be going, think of another cool concept that would make a cool story. Repeat.

Man I never even get to the rising action. I write a few sporadic scenes and then quit.

I can't handle multiple stories, I work on usually one until I get bored of it (or just forget it)

When things get exciting. *cries* I know what's going to happen, and a few times I've lost interest when someone was about to die. *cries*

To answer my own question, short stories. It might be because I don't have to stick to the strict meter of a poem, but don't have to worry about trying to make a huge plot to fill up the large space of a book. I like fast action and find a quicker story easier to write. >^.^<

Short stories because I can only do something for so long before I get bored and abandon it forever, so with short stories I can actually finish it!

Long stories. Poetry is not my thing, and I tend to put too much time into world building and character development and then get disappointed that I didn't get to use all of it. Plus I suck at writing short stuff.

Longer works! Well, I wouldn't say it's easier, but it comes more naturally and it's more enjoyable. I mean, I could slap down a poem in five minutes of you wanted, but I certainly wouldn't enjoy it. It wouldn't be very well-written because poetry doesn't always flow well with me. And short stories...I don't like creating characters just to never use them again.

I find it easier to write poems. I'm not sure why, but when I'm writing poems the words just seem to flow out of me.
I don't think I can write short stories because I always like the idea and therefor prolong it. . . and then I never finish it. =_=

I usually write longer works, but I tend to finish short stories a lot more. XD Poems... I'm okay at them when I'm inspired. Otherwise, I don't write them.
