YAYYYYY DOLLHOUSE IS BACK AGAIN~~~IT'S BEEN SO LONG SINCE I'VE DRAWN HERE...^___333^^ i'll try to get dave to post his doll by this weekend

this doll is (very extremely loosely) based off a jiangshi, but you can think of it also as just a zombie like creature. for this contest, write a story about their relationship with beauty/self image as a green 'undead' doll! (for example, they could envy girls who look traditionally beautiful, or they could embrace their scarred look. they can also completely reject it/have a complicated relationship w gender etc etc)
prettying up a-okay, but i'm mainly looking at the story! no extras

- paper talisman can be erased and written in at will like a white board. currently it says jiangshi <3 >w<
- shadow is an eyelash curler
- arms are not visible, but they exist. or they don't. who knows
- jiangshis are traditionally unable to move their limbs as a "stiff" corpse, but they have the ability to (being a ball jointed doll)
- two sketches i drew on sai, a draft of their design and a thing just for fun

Amelia doesn't have many friends as of yet for she is shy and an introvert in her own right. She has always struggled with her image. Herself. Her beauty and her ability to be who she wishes she could be. Her close friend once told her: "There is no sense in regretting what happened. You still can be new, but you have to start right away, and that means taking control of yourself more. You will realize at some point in life that happiness is nowhere but inside you, and that it only matters when it is your own. In other words, stop letting people dictate your life. You will never be happy when following the commands of another...."

It didn't make sense to her at first as it was rather confusing. But with a little more explication she learned that happiness had to come before beauty. If she didn't have happiness then...she would only be beautiful on the outside. Happiness and beauty have to go hand in hand and once she figures that out she will feel like a new being.

And in some cases, it may be so

Perhaps we forget how powerful

The first thought is of the body
I do as well, but perhaps in a strange way
I see the beauty of their eye

Flakes of chipped paint were littered around Okura's feet, a grim carpet to decorate her sorrows. It was no use. Each layer was the exact same as the last, and when she looked in the mirror, it was no different from before. Her scarred skin remained untouched. Maybe on a different day, or in a different body, she could have appreciated the irony, but today? The pit in her stomach only grew, and a single drop of crimson rolled down her cheek. Once that first tear broke free, the rest barreled out in an unbroken stream. A wail was torn from her throat and she dropped to the tiled floor in defeat. It was wrong. All 10 inches of her slight frame sickened her soul to the very core. Her skin should be porcelain or olive or caramel or chocolate or anything but this sickly green pallor. As soon as her date catches sight of it, she'd likely be running in fear.

Okaru let out a final sniff and shakily got back on her feet, using the bed-frame as support. She hadn't dated a girl for years. This was her one shot. She had to get it right. The carefully procured outfit greeted her as she opened the closet door. She loved it's extravagance, the flowing black fabrics contrasting the red frills, and the white petticoat made her feel almost like a girl from a fairytale.
After putting it on, she swirled around with glee. Hardly a spot of green was in sight, hidden under a myriad of satin layers. Perfect. Like a cherry on top, she donned a hat and ran a brush through her hair.
The doorbell rang.
Oh god. That would be the date.
Okaru hastily brushed the paint chips under her bed, and ran downstairs. She took a deep breath in. She could do this, she had to. The girl won't mind my skin, she told herself, she's already seen me, hasn't she? Still, it nagged at the back of her mind - no, it scratched and screamed and pulled at the front of her mind, but she wiped her eyes; wet again. She had to try and put it behind her.
She slowly opened the door.
