Viscet #1688 — Air WINNER ANNOUNCED

Postby magpiemochi. » Sat Jul 29, 2017 6:13 am

owner: Mint Chip
name: August Maxwell
gender: male

I had a lot of trouble with this babe, but I really really like the end result. I just kept changing it and nothing looked right to me, and finally this just .. happened. Since this event is revolved around elements, I went with a light element for this babe. I was first going to do wind, since that would make sense considering the trait element is air, but nothing was working out.
Anyway!! Onto the contest...

There are some requirements:

I want to know their theme song and an explanation as to why it's their theme song. If there's a reason you're unable to get a theme song, then you must provide a quote with an explanation to go along with it. No word limit.

I also want to know if they face any challenges in life, and what they do to overcome these challenges. No word limit.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The rest is up to you! Although there is no limit on extras, I won't be allowing comics or animations.
Other than that, go crazy.

Angels of Eterna had ranks. No matter what your domain may be, you had a rank. The top of the angels, the ones closest to gods themselves, were seraphim; they were powerful and well-respected, and only one of them had ever Fallen. Below seraphim you had the archangels, which oversaw the dealings of all of the angels, and below them you had dominions, strong angels that each headed their own particular domain. Below them you had lesser angels, which could be anything, really; messengers, soldiers, and guardians, for the most part.
A young angel was known as a "cupid", and they were, really, the lowest of them, mostly apprentices and the like. There were few of them; angels were not, after all, created often.
Spezi was one of these young angels, one of these cupids. She learned very well; she was smart, quick on her feet, and could adapt quickly and expertly to changing situations. She never let her low rank as a mere cupid dissuade her from her goals. Spezi was particularly good at one job, and that was being a messenger. Being a messenger entailed a lot — one had to protect their messages with their life, and they must be quick and have a steady mind and a steady memory. Spezi, rather proudly, fulfilled all of these criteria, and, not a huge length into her apprenticeship, she was promoted to be a lesser angel: a messenger. She became good at her job, and then she became great at it. She was prideful and even a bit smug at her abilities in comparison to others of similar age. After all, she was one of the best. She never let anything interfere with her work; her job was her life. It consumed everything, and she was okay with that, because she was going to be the best messenger the Heavens had ever laid their eyes upon.
Due to her prodigious abilities, it wasn't long before Spezi was running more important messages; those sent by Dominions and even once by an Archangel.
Her life, however, and her success, was about to change.

It was late into the spring months when she was called by a Dominion from the surface of Eterna. She found this a bit odd; Dominions almost never went to the planet without having a need to, but she didn't think anything else of it. Like always, in a habit that had been ingrained in her brain for years, she descended.
The caller was not one that she recognized immediately. His back was to her and his muzzle was hefted into the air, gazing into the sky as if awaiting for his prayer to be answered. She spoke up, her voice curt and tone blunt.
    "What have you called for?"
      Image
He didn't answer immediately — he didn't even look back immediately. Slowly, his gaze lowered before he turned his head to look at her. The expression on the dominion's face was unreadable. There was a length of silence and her eyes narrowed, slightly impatient, before he spoke.
"I need to go back to Heaven," he said, finally. She tilted her head slightly at the answer, ears folding back a bit.
"You are a Dominion. Can you not get there on your own?"
"No," he said, and his voice became a bit more forceful. "I can't. I need someone to lead me there. That someone is you, messenger."
She fell silent before she nodded and strode forward, nodding simply. As she got closer, she could see the other angel in more detail; like hers, his fur was gold as bright as the sun, and curly locks of hair framed his face. As she neared him, a more instinctive part of her recognized him; not his physical appearance, as she'd never seen him before, but she new him in her mind, in her very spirit; this was the angel of vengeance. She knew him by name as well; Gaious. She felt something strange as her gaze met his and she was unable to even speak, even move, for a long moment. What was this? Am I sick? she wondered to herself, and then wondered what sort of sickness could infect even an angel. That had to be so, however, because her body felt truly unnatural. It felt... wrong, even, and she had to fight to snap herself out of it. Concern darkened her eyes, concern for her own state, and that concern soon evolved into irritation. "Let's hurry, then, Gaious," she said, before turning and starting to stride away. She heard a soft growl behind herself, but she did not stop moving, even as the angel behind her spoke, keeping up.
"Don't call me that," he said, and her eyes narrowed.
"Don't call you what? Your name?" she snapped in response, looking back at him out of the corner of her eye. He seemed taken aback by her snappiness. Well, he might as well get used to it. He was an angel, just like her, even though he was high ranked. He must be used to being coddled by the boot-licking, lesser messengers who all they did was grovel at the sight of one more high ranked than her. As she stared him down, the sensation returned in full force. It must be something about him, she thought to herself. He is the angel of Vengeance, after all. Perhaps it's just... an intimidating aura. After all, she certainly wasn't sick. Being sick meant she would be unable to perform her duties, and that was just blasphemous to even think about.
She turned her head and, with an annoyed huff, continued. "Hurry up. I have a busy schedule," she growled, and he didn't respond.
She didn't see it, but behind her, the angel Avariel was following closely. His eyes were centered on the back of her head and a deep frown was on his face as they strode in silence, towards a point that would allow them to ascend. He'd never seen this snappy little angel before, but... she reminded him of Pantarei, in a way. He flinched at the thought and gave a little glance behind him before pushing on ahead, trying to fight back the conflicted tugging inside of him. He swallowed and firmly closed his eyes. No, he had called this messenger.
There was no turning back now, was there?

The majority of the rest of the journey was spent in a strained silence. Avariel was lost in his thoughts and didn't want to comment on anything, lest he invoke the low-ranked angel's fury, and Spezi was too busy glaring at anything that moved a half centimeter to make much conversation. Sometimes she would turn her head to look back at him, when he was looking away, glaring as his presence swirled around in her mind. Ugh, what was this? It was distracting and awfully bothersome. Was this how everyone felt around this angel?
      Image
Finally, silence had dragged on long enough, and behind her, the angel spoke up. "Are you okay?" he asked. "You've been acting like I'm a convicted criminal the whole trip. Are you that uncomfortable?"
Her throat felt like it was trying to tie itself in a knot and she stopped in place, and she heard the angel skip a step like he'd almost stumbled into her. Then, she turned to look at him, staring at him, for the third time that day, right in the eyes. He maintained eye contact, his expression a bit more lax than before. She seemed all the more infuriated as that stupid, stupid aura came about again, making her stomach turn and her fur feel like it was too warm. She didn't respond, and after a moment, Avariel leaned back a bit.
      Image
"You are, quite possibly, the most irritated messenger I've ever seen," he said slowly. "Well, not irritated. Uncomfortable, hm? Do I make you uncomfortable?"
"No," she growled. "Listen. I'm just — I'm just trying to get you to your 'destination' as quick as possible, alright?"
"Well, of course. But that doesn't mean you have to be all unfriendly about it. Do they not value hospitality up there anymore?"
Oh, this little...! She grit her teeth and shook her head, turning on her heel. "What matters is we get to where we're going. Now shut up and come on."
Maybe the worst part about it all was, as infuriated as she knew she was, she didn't... feel like she normally did when she was annoyed. This just felt so much more unnatural, so much... different.
It didn't feel like it was even supposed to happen.

    Image

Spezi had been off her game. Unlike usual, she had gotten distracted, even almost delivering a message to the wrong recipient before she had caught herself, thankfully before anything bad occurred. She'd forgotten where she was going, once, and it was just irritating. It'd been going on for, what, a week now? Ever since she'd brought that blasted angel up here. She often wondered if it was still him causing this.
Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. Her work just wasn't what it usually was. It was nothing like it usually was. So, when she had finished delivering a message to Muriel, one of the most well-respected and high-ranked of the Dominions, she decided to bring her concerns up.
"Muriel? Can I ask you about something?" Spezi said as she had finished, her voice a bit softer than her usual strict, curt tone. "It's... well, something's been bothering me lately."
The angel tilted her head, looking down at Spezi. She, too, had a more professional tone around her, but that aura relaxed as she realized that Spezi wanted to speak about more personal things. She smiled and, in that soothing, motherly tone of hers, said, "Of course you may, dear. Ask away."
Spezi was silent for a long moment, her gaze on the ground. "I just... I haven't been doing my job properly, recently," she murmured, frowning. "I haven't been able to do it right since I brought that angel back. I don't know. I forget what I'm doing, or... or where I'm supposed to be going. I-I don't know what's wrong." She sounded, even to herself, more vulnerable than she'd ever been. "I just—I can't help but think. What if it's something he's doing? I just—this never happened before then!"
Muriel let her talk, and when she finished, the angel of the sea raised her hand and gently carded her nails through Spezi's mane, the gesture comforting. "It's alright, little messenger," she said in that same soft tone. "We all make mistakes. Sometimes more than others. Who is it you are talking about?"
    "Avariel," Spezi said quietly. "Gaious."
Muriel's hand stopped and her expression tightened a little bit. She seemed careful as she chose her next words. "Ah, yes. He came to me a few days ago, telling me he had returned to stay. You escorted him here?"
    "Yes, Muriel."
"When did you notice things being... different?"
Spezi looked up at the dominion, before she looked down and thought for a moment. "When I first laid my eyes upon him," she said after a great length. "I felt something—different. It felt so unnatural, Muriel, and I can still feel it. It was so strange—I thought, then, maybe, it was just because of who he was, and then maybe he had a frightening aura, but it hasn't stopped. It won't stop, and it's hurting my work. I..."
She trailed off, the room falling into uncertain silence.
      Image
    "Have you ever loved, Spezi?"
The messenger's head snapped up the moment she registered the meaning of the angel's words, and her eyes met Muriel's, wide with shock.
    "L-love? That's impossible," she said. "I—I can't love. I'm just a messenger. That doesn't happen to us.
Muriel smiled and ruffled Spezi's mane slightly before she pulled away. For some reason, Spezi longed for her comforting, motherly presence, but she didn't move from where her paws seemed to have been glued to the glistening floor.
"Anything is possible," Muriel said, smiling knowingly, before she turned and strode away, leaving Spezi staring in disbelief after her.

She spent the next several days in deep thought, and this thought had an even more adverse effect on her work. She actually did deliver the wrong message—once yesterday, but it was a rather insignificant message, luckily—and she couldn't stop thinking about Muriel's words. Could she, only a lesser angel, only years away from having been a cupid, love? It seemed impossible, and yet, here it was, the strange feeling in her chest and the warmth in her fur, especially when she thought of the angel.
Even more, he was a dominion! He was above her, by far, but, at the same time... ranks didn't mean that much, did they? They only showed what you controlled. That was all. Right? There couldn't be... that much wrong with it.
She didn't even know that much about love, though. All she knew were mortal customs, some of them, that she had just come across. Nothing of real note. Although, to be fair... Avariel had spent the majority of his time with mortals, recently, and...
        Image
      Hm...

      Image

      Avariel was miserable.
He'd hoped to come back to Heaven to get away from his problems, but they still chased him like rabid dogs in his thoughts and dreams. It wasn't like he had friends here, much, and his sister Sariel was far too angry with what he had done to talk to him. So he lay back on a bed that was more comfortable than any he felt he'd ever laid on in his life, staring up at the ceiling in a mixture of boredom and guilt.
        Image
He'd left his long-time mate, Pantarei, and he wasn't sure if he had done the right thing. There wasn't any going back, now; he was sure Pantarei would kick him right back out if he tried to come crawling back home. Their relationship had been in rough waters for a while, but when Pantarei said that he had an egg that was his, too, he knew he had to leave. There was no way he could still do his job and take care of a viscling. Just to imagine it. The angel of vengeance himself, cradling and taking care of, what, a child? That was just... too much for him.
He jumped slightly when he heard a knock at the door, looking up before he pushed himself to sit up, staring at the door in absolute confusion. He hadn't been expecting anyone, and he'd already been yelled at by two angels at this point. Who was coming next to berate him for his decisions? (They were his, anyway—why did Sariel and Muriel care so much?)
The knock came again and he sighed, getting off the bed and walking to the door, opening it and staring in mute surprise at what he was looking at.
The messenger that had escorted him here was standing in front of his doorway. She wasn't wearing the elegant, flowing garb of an angelic messenger anymore, though. She instead wore a loose shirt and robe, and in her paws were... a bouquet of flowers, tied together neatly with two different ribbons. He stared at her for a long moment and they were both silent, and she smiled in an almost silly-looking way back at him.
        Image
"I, uh, got you these," she said, tilting her head. Her ears twitched slightly and he didn't know what to say, or do, only reluctantly taking them once she held them out.
"I... uh... thanks?" he responded uncertainly, looking down at the colorful flowers. Their scent drifted up and he fought back a sneeze, looking down at Spezi. "You, uh... seem different."
The messenger angel smiled sheepishly and tilted her head, looking off to the side. "I'm sorry I was so harsh with you when I was bringing you back here. I'd just been having a sort of bad day. I brought you these as, um—compensation!" Her voice was soft and apologetic and Avariel nodded slightly, glancing to the side and wondering when another angel was going to reveal this was a prank or something similar, but nothing happened.
"It's... uh, okay, I guess." How was he supposed to respond to... this?
"Do you mind if I come in?"
Avariel stared at her again, mouth opening to respond before he swallowed and shook his head. "Ah... no, sorry. I was—I was actually just going to take a nap." He hadn't planned on it, but... he didn't really want to deal with the same angel who had been ready to bite his tail off not two weeks ago.
"Oh, ok!" Spezi responded, but she seemed almost a little disappointed, deflated. Avariel grimaced briefly, feeling a little guilty now, before he put on a smile and shrugged slightly.
      "Ah... maybe tomorrow, or something?"
It seemed to make her perk up... a little bit and Spezi smiled and nodded. "Sure! Tomorrow sounds good," she said, as if they had just made an arrangement for a date, before she turned around and ran off.
Avariel watched her go before he stepped back and closed the door, looking down at the bouquet of multicolored flowers. He raised an eyebrow before raising them to his nose, sniffing for a moment before he really did sneeze this time, frowning and placing the offending flowers down on a table.
        Image
      "What was that all about...?"

      Image

The rest of the next month or so went on rather similarly. Every now and again, Spezi would stop by, usually bearing some small gift; flowers, food, and sometimes small gifts, like candles that smelled sort of like pumpkins or a golden pillow that matched the shade of Avariel's fur. He let her in, sometimes, and it wasn't the most exciting thing, but she was getting to be such a familiar presence that Avariel found himself growing on her, and Spezi was... well, she wasn't giving up, to say the least. She'd very much taken Muriel's words to heart, and she was very much trying to impress him, and it showed.
It was only around about five weeks since Spezi had first appeared at Avariel's doorstep when she actually decided that she'd ask the question.
She was close to him, leaning against him and sitting cross-legged while she read something—what, he didn't know and didn't particularly seem to care—when she finally looked up and, in a rather forward action, nuzzled into his arm and spoke.
"Hm, you know, Avariel... I think we have cupids of our own watching us~" she said, which very quickly caught the angel's attention. "I think we were meant to be mates..."
The angel blinked and looked over at her, wide-eyed as if he hadn't really registered what she'd said and was still trying to process the very sudden, very blunt information. He opened his mouth to say something, but he... didn't really know what to say. That an, uh... very strong idea to lay on him without any precursor. Finally, he just settled on saying, "...what?"
Spezi smiled and marked her page in the book before setting it down and turning around to look at him, tilting her head to the side. "You know. Mates. We could take our friendship to the next level, you know. I mean, wouldn't it be nice?" She grinned dreamily, looking off into the side as if watching a slideshow of her imagination. "Want to try?"
Avariel still didn't know what to say. Couldn't she have been the least bit merciful and led up to it, rather than asking so suddenly? Did she really expect him to give an answer immediately? He wasn't sure about their relationship even now. But... well, it was a little tempting. While he liked Spezi no more than a friend, he still hadn't managed to get his mind off of Pantarei, even though it had almost been two months since he'd left. Maybe if he... maybe if he accepted this proposition, maybe he could get Pantarei off his mind once and for all.
"I guess... I guess it wouldn't hurt to try."

Within the first few days of his new relationship, Avariel started to wonder if Spezi still had a job as a messenger, because she almost never left his place. Ever. Even if she wasn't talking to him or anything, she would sit and read or try to cuddle up to him (which he did not in the least appreciate; physical affection was far from being anything he was used to or wanted to be used to). He didn't say anything about it, though; he honestly still wasn't sure what to say to her most of the time. She was so... odd. He very well remembered how irate she'd been with him at first, and he knew—from a conversation with Muriel the day before—that she had been, in the past, one of the most successful messengers of Heaven. That was, however, not the case at all anymore. She hardly ever did her job, or if she did, Avariel certainly didn't see it happening. Muriel looked a bit concerned, as well, but she never spoke of the concerns and Avariel didn't press to see what was wrong, so they were never answered.
The physical affection was probably the most annoying thing, though, since she was always pressed up against him or rubbing her pinkish nose into his fur. Gods forbid he wanted to sleep alone in his bed, which was really only made for one; she wanted to sleep over any time she could, and that meant curling up close to him, stealing his blankets in the night and pushing him to the far side of the bed.
        Image
In short, it wasn't exactly a relationship he was happy with. It wasn't really a relationship he wanted to stay in. But he did, if for the sole purpose that it made Spezi happy, and it kept his mind away from Pantarei and the egg (even if it did fill it with complaints instead).
Two weeks into the relationship, Avariel was already wondering if he had made a dire mistake. She was clingy; heavens, she never left him alone! That, and she had gotten sharp with him when he had to. He was going to talk to Muriel about a deeply personal matter, one he definitely didn't want Spezi to listen to, and she had tried her hardest for him to let her come along.
"I'll be back in a bit," he had called to her that day, stopping in front of the door. If he left without telling her where he was going, he knew she was going to try her best to track him down like prey. "I've got to speak to Lady Muriel about something important."
Spezi had looked up from the book she was most recently reading, some mortal book about colors that he didn't understand, and then put it down, frowning. Her ears went back and she took on the expression much like a kicked puppy. He knew what she was trying to do; she was trying to guilt him into staying home. "What? You talked to Muriel just a little while ago. You don't need to go out again, do you?" she whined, her voice sorrowful.
Avariel rolled his eyes. "I'm only going to be gone a few hours. You can hold off until then. Just... read your books, or whatever." That's all she did when he was here anyway. Read and... cling to him. "It's too important to just forget about. I'll be back later."
He started to open the door and walk out when she hopped up and came over to him, catching some of the long fur on his arm to stop him. "Wait! Maybe I can go with you?"
His face scrunched up and he shook his head. "No. It's a personal conversation."
"What? What's too personal you can't share with me?" Her eyes narrowed. "There isn't someone else, is there?"
He rolled his eyes again. Honestly, Spezi was practically a conspiracy theorist. "No. There's no one else. I promise, I'll be back in a few hours. No harm."
This went on for about twenty minutes before she finally, in a bit of a tizzy, let him go, and he again went to Muriel's. He rather enjoyed going out to other angels, now, because it meant time he didn't have to spend with Spezi.
      Good riddance.

When Avariel woke up that morning, the first thing he saw was Spezi's excited face inches from his own, her eyes looking directly into his own. Taken by complete surprise, his first instinct was to yelp and try to shove her off. Some of her excitement disappeared as she was pushed off of him, but it quickly returned and her ears pricked high in the air. "I have a surprise for you, Avariel," she said in an excited whisper. "I bet you'll love it. It's something exciting for both of us."
Avariel really dreaded what would be exciting for both of them, especially what would be a surprise, but he sat up, forcing a half-excited look on his face. "Hm? What's the surprise?"
Spezi smiled and put her paws over his eyes, saying, "Ok, I want you to close your eyes, yeah?" She removed them a moment later and Avariel kept his eyes closed, though he did feel a certain amount of discomfort as he did so. What was she doing...?
        Image
She got off the bed and Avariel heard her pawsteps recede briefly, before they returned and she sat on the side of the bed. With happiness in her voice, she said, "Ok, open them!"
When he opened his eyes, he could have sworn he was hallucinating for a second, and he had to do a double take before he really registered what he was seeing. A mix of disbelief and dread filled him. Oh, no.
In Spezi's lap, the wing-eared messenger held... an egg. An egg. He glanced from the egg to Spezi, back to the egg and back to Spezi, resting his disbelieving gaze there. She grinned and tilted her head slightly.
"It's ours. Aren't you happy?" she said, closing her eyes and swaying her head rhythmically side to side while she pictured her fantasies of them living together, raising a child...~ "We'll have a viscling of our own, Avariel. Isn't it wonderful?"
A long silence greeted her and she slowly stopped and opened her eyes, looking at her. Her ears went back slightly and she frowned. Avariel's expression wasn't one of happiness at all; he looked like he was dreading the worst.
"No, Spezi," he said finally. "I can't do that. I can't do this."
"What?" she asked, eyes narrowing. What did he mean he 'couldn't take this'? It was their egg!
Avariel grit his teeth before he shook his head a little more fiercely. "I can't do this, Spezi. I don't want to be mates. I don't want us to have a kid."
She stared, speechless, before fury blazed in her eyes. "You what!? You can't just leave!"
"Yes, I can," Avariel snapped right back, meeting her gaze evenly, his own eyes narrowed. There wasn't an inch of regret in them. "I don't want you here, Spezi. Get out."
Her fury only increased and she glared hotly at him, lips curling in a snarl before she stood off the bed, taking the egg. "Fine. You don't want me around!? I'll leave, then. See how well you do alone, you disgusting little devil!"
She turned on her heel, dashing out the door and slamming it hard behind her, running away.

She'd been looking for him for a week and a half now. Carrying her egg, their egg, she just wanted to find him again. She needed to talk to him again. Spezi was following the only trail she knew; looking for the Dominions that were on Eterna.
And today, she'd finally found his trace. It was in an old, dark forest, with trees that blocked out the sun and undergrowth barren, starved of precious sunlight. She wandered through the shadows, looking for him, when she heard a loud rustle. In a moment, there he stood; Avariel, armor catching a thin glint of sunlight. There was a sword in his paw and it was half-raised, and the expression on his masked face wasn't a friendly one.
"Why are you here?" he snapped. There was a tone in his voice that she didn't quite understand. Fear, maybe. Shock. Confusion. "Answer me!"
"Wait, please," she said, feeling tears prick her eyes. "I just want to talk to you. Avariel, please, listen to me."
"I don't want to talk to you," the dominion snarled, his weapon edging closer in tacit warning. "I want you to stay the hell away from me."
"Please, Avariel! J-j-just let me explain myself!" she cried, tears spilling as her grief overwhelmed her. "P-please! I'm sorry, I-I didn't mean what I said—I-I was just so angry, and I want you back—we want you b-back—"
      Avariel interrupted her.
"Spezi, listen to me," he snarled, voice harsh. "As far as I'm concerned, that egg has no father. I'm not related to him. You're going to stay the hell away from my family, because if they find out about you there won't be a you to discuss anymore. Do you understand me!?"
        Image
She stared in disbelief, mute with shock.
      His... family?
      Avariel had a family?
      "B-but... I thought..."
"Whatever you thought, you thought wrong. Get out. And never, ever come back."
Spezi stared at Avariel for a few seconds, tears running down her face, before finally she turned and fled, letting out a heartbroken sob.

      { word count; ~5000 }

    ᴄʜᴀʟʟᴇɴɢᴇs:
What had become of her life now?

Once she had been an admirable being, a reliable and stoic messenger — but now she was little more than a single mother, something to gawk at and mock.
"Now, you see? This is why a Cupid is never to fall in love. Frankly, none of these workers should be capable of it...nothing they deserve or need."
"How dare she tarnish our good name? The best messenger in the heavens...what a joke. Look at her now."

The feathers on Spezi's ears were gently pulled with the breeze while she cradled her egg, eyes closed with shame from the mockery in the channel of angelic conversation. They were all watching her failure now. Her struggle to survive as an immortal being with mortal flaws. She was but a defect, then. She knew better than anyone else that she was not meant for this, but she was all in now.

It had been so hard not to do it when she was finally cast from heaven, abandoned and slammed into the mortal world much like her beloved had. It had been even harder when she had struggled to find shelter among the cold, unforgiving planes of Eterna's surface, starved and parched. It was almost crippling to struggle with the temptation now that she was struck with the same diseases, the same flaws as any mortal was; the thought of it eased her sore bones in the evening, supplied her the warmth for her unhatched child.

      She had to kill Pantarei.

Not yet. Her eyes rested half-lidded as she folded her forearms beneath her torso, tail wrapped snugly around the white and golden-speckled egg at her flank. Distantly, she wondered what Avariel would name it. Spezi had decided long ago that the strong warrior to be born from its angelic parents would be honored with a name from its noble father, to grow into that name and bring its parents glory. Once Pantarei was gone, Avariel would surely realize how beneath him and unworthy that disgusting excuse for a child was. Qerabi. Her head turned, staring at the den wall much like a dazed animal. Perhaps Qerabi would be a decent enough sibling for her child. With his mother out of the way, surely Qerabi would still trust in his father and decide to live alongside them. If that worked out, then her child would be able to use its brother as an example of a lesser being. Of course! A dirty nephilim for a sibling would only bring the child more pride at being a full-blooded angel.

Still yet, that required the erasing of Pantarei's life. Being that her target was mortal, Spezi had no qualms about the difficulty of such a task. She still retained her blessings as an angelic being, even if she was forever cursed to walk the lands of Eterna and share in the suffering of mortal struggles. No, it was rather...when to do it. How.
Her beloved was so blinded in his affliction for that mortal that when he died, Spezi knew he would seek vengeance — being the angel of such, she wasn't startled to think about it. It was common sense. That was why she needed to devise a plan, to work out a situation so unfortunate that he would have no one to blame for the death of his mate. Perhaps himself, but...surely that would only make him more desperate for her to take him back in, to sweep him off of his paws with her love.

Nothing could attack him. A physical death would raise far too much suspicion, and at that, Pantarei was too good at defending himself to be felled. Avariel would find out easily, even if he knew not of her banishment to Eterna yet. Any accident of nature would convict her easily, as well; any storm or unfortunate tree fall was just too good to be a beautiful mishap. Her claws dug into the earth in frustration, tail swishing briefly as, at last, an idea entered her head.
      Drowning.
It was no secret that Rei was not comfortable in bodies of water — nor Avariel, for that matter. Drowning if he ever fell into a lake or river... genius. Perfect. Something they're both afraid of. She hated to harm her beloved Avariel like this, but it was the only way to kill Pantarei efficiently, without leaving a trace of her influence on the crime. Spezi closed her eyes, smiling pleasantly. It would just take her careful, trained eye to wait and watch out for the perfect opportunity. All she needed now was patience.

However, any time she saw a glimpse of that purple and black rat in her mind's eye, it was a challenge in itself not to attack him, watch the life bleed from his fur as his staked claim over Avariel faded away. It was getting so hard, so much more difficult by the day, that she could barely bide her time. Only a pawful of weeks had gone by, and her child was close to hatching. A belated one, at that — four weeks was... disconcerting, but she had heard stories of angelic children taking much longer to arrive, so she had not let herself grow too concerned. She was, however, nervous that her plan would have to take place after her child's birth. She wanted her viscling to be born with both parents present, encouraging and nudging the little ball of fur to its paws for its first steps...but that would not be a reality. She shook with anger.

I have to kill him now. She seethed with rage, but let the moment pass after heavy breaths were sent through her shut jaws, calming her pulsing mind. I have to wait. Just a little bit longer. And when he dies, I'll be watching. I'll watch him choke out every last pathetic breath in his body, and I'll watch the love for him seep from my mate's heart as he returns to me.

Until that day arrived, she would just have to face the impossible challenge of waiting.

    ᴛʜᴇᴍᴇ sᴏɴɢ:
The Devil Within - Digital Daggers [lyric video]

I feel like this song really explains itself. Spezi's first and only encounter with love, a concept ironically foreign to a Cupid-born entity, was an intense and overpowering one that had shifted her strict and serious outlook on her 'one true love' of holding her title as a messenger to an uncontrollably childlike response to it, solely because she didn't know any better. When she gave too much possession into her love, their already failed relationship crumbled and Avariel left her and her unhatched child, spurning her blossoming love into a dark, unhealthy hatred and need for revenge that thrives in the theme of this song I chose. However, this song isn't directed at Avariel — this song encapsulates how Spezi feels about Pantarei, the one viscet who 'stole' her love away. I feel this is her theme because of how slimy and slithery her motives and purposes are, and how truly invisible she is to both Avariel and his family; neither Qerabi nor Pantarei know she or her child even exist, and Avariel, having turned his back on heaven, has no idea that she's been banished to walk the same land he does. She is truly a creature waiting in the shadows to strike, and her venomous feelings toward Avariel's mate himself are perfectly concealed in the toxic lyrics of the song. Cold and calculated, impatient yet coiled, Spezi's bubbly delusion to be with Avariel again has pushed forward this overkill-esque mindset. Even after Pantarei is unable to be saved and drowns many years down the road as she had planned all along, Avariel hasn't the slightest clue that it was Spezi pulling the strings that held Rei under, strangling his last breaths from him — and they never saw her coming.

    name: Viola
    theme song: Rebel girls
Viola is the lead of the flower girl gang. Ever since she was a young child she was always treated like a sweet and delicate flower by all her peer's. So she got sick of it and ditched the frilly dresses and rules and crated her own little gang made up of all the outcast and losers. She and her gang create are public nuisances and on the top of the food chain is Viola

    Image

do they face any challenges? how do they overcome their challenges?:
One of the many challenges Viola had growing up was the fact that a lot of people she considered her friends would bully her and push her around like she was a living doormats. She would be so upset that her so called friends would be me to her that she would cry herself to sleep most nights.

After getting pushed around too longs she decided to fight against her bullies. She didn't win the first time..or the second time. But after a long and grueling task of keeping her head up high and her enemy's under her boot. She had gotten the respect she deserves after so many long years of being cowardice and lonely. She is now the proud leader of a all female gang that's dedicated to helping other fellow outcasts and making a scene.

    Relationships
    Xochi Kiahi
Xochi is one of violas main girls. She is probably the most like Viola in the fact that they both are fiery spirts that like to cause mayhem to others. As the respect for Viola it's almost none. The feisty little viscet is always trying one up her leader which ends in a result of getting a sparkled boot in the face

    Sloth
Sloth is one of Violas favorite little mistakes.Ever since Sloth had drooled on her in grade school.Whenever Viola is hosting a heist the other is sloppily laying in her back, snoring loudly as her friends steal from everyone

Silence rung through the empty warehouse like dust. Thick and heavy was all the feathered ear viscet could think about. She nudged the sleeping viscet that clung to her back a little bit. Goddess she was getting sick of this. This always getting her and her crew dragged through the mud for supplies and basic needs for her little groups to survive. If it weren't for the lazy viscet dozing on her back she would be completely alone as her and the dealer had agreed. However coming unarmed would be foolish. She had no idea why these new little gangs always suggested no weapons during negotiation. She always brought her knife with her just in case the off chance that yes, the seller was going to rob the buyer but she had not have let that happen. Not without a fight anyway.

The body on her shifted a little and moved to the other side of the shoulder. Viola nudged her with her arm, waking up the sleepy creature in front of her. "get up he is already here" sloth gave her a puzzled look, swiveling her head around to gaze around at the vast concreate ocean that made up the warehouse." I don't see him" she rubbed her tired eyes and climbed off, immediately feeling someone grasp her shoulder. "glad for us to join us,Mr...uh.."
""Mr. Whiteman" the viscet gripped the others shoulder before sloth moved away. "But most people call me Wyatt"
Viola looked at the large viscet behind him with the snarly tail. The mouth of the tail slowly opened and closed like a hungry serpent. Wyatt gave a small chuckle and fixed his jacket. "Isn't it amazing, the thing actually moves..oh..I do hope you don't mind me brining my people" he looked down at the slothful viscet."seems like you did" he cleared his throat and opened up his jacket. "No weapons, I want this to be..how you say..non violent" his voice rang with overconfidence and cockiness. Viola frowned at the other, taking out her weapon from her boot, setting it to sloth who held the steel blade in her jacket pocket. "let's cut the chase Mr. Whiteman, I do not like you" Viola spat out bitterly. "But I am in need of a small favor of you and your pathetic little clan"
Wyatt smirked a little bit at the slur, tussling the orange hair out of his face. "I have heard worse, What do you want"
Viola took out a small paper from her jacket which made the viscet behind Wyatt flinch. "relax handsome, it's just paper" she snickered out softly and nudged Sloth who was starring at the others tail."table..now" she snapped her fingers and the tired viscet lugged over one of the many abandoned moldy barrels and set it in between the two leaders. Viola spread out the rolling paper against the semi flat surface. Wyatt looked unimpressed and tapped the paper which appeared to be a map. "this is nothing" he repeated blandly at Viola. Viola took out a pen and circled around his finger. "as you know, there are four main gangs. Ours is one of the many in this city" she drew a little heart around six locations. "there has been a starting of six copy gangs around the area that follow both in your and my area. She slapped the pen down on one of the locations, causing sloth to jump in surprise. Viola gave Wyatt look that looked like a smile but felt like rage. The other tilted her head to the side." I need you and your little troop to pay our new guests a little visit, preferably with a act of force" she slammed another spot and another with the pen.

Wyatt raised a brow, looking at the sunshine like viscet with a questioningly look. "and why should I do this" Viola shook her head and grabbed the front of his jacket." I had watched them wipe out on of our rivals. Now if you like to not disappear off the map I want you to put a little boon on there heads and take care of the problem" she shoved the other away which made the viscet behind him come closer, glaring down in content. The other let out a bitter empty laugh." alright alright..gee you are no fun anymore V. I'll hunt down your little problem." he lifted up a single finger."but..I want your help locating and tracking them with your little nerd patrol" viola stuck out her hand. "we lead it tighter, or else we will blow you to high heaven"
"I wouldn't want it any other way~" he purred out, gripping her hand and shaking it.
Viola flicked the nose of her sleeping companion. She felt the irrated sigh leave her mouth as she could feel the excitement In the room.As of right now Viola was in a small clustered room full of crazed viscets with a couple marbles punched out of her head."wake up sloth,we wouldn't want you getting robbed" she hissed out venomously, showing her knife to a pink viscet in gloves who gingerly backed away.Viola tsked in disgust and fixed the black shades that was propped on her muzzle."the sooner the red headed twat comes here the better" she placed the glasses on her head and looked down at sloth, her reflection glimmering through the black tinted lenses."besides, once were squashing the begs out..we will soon destroy the rats here" Sloth looked down at her hands then back up at Viola."Ithought we were allies?" Viola pinched her nose and took out her knife again to the pink viscet."come up to us again,go ahead" she spat angerily through her clenched jaw.The viscet smiled at her stupidly once again and backed of."come on V,it's not like I was going to take something valuable" the gloved viscet gently grabbed sloths hand and planted a small kiss to it which earned a tsk of discuss."they call me Cupid, the candy man,the love maker" he let go of her hand and turned away."I'm the heart of this operation, pun inten-"
"Get to the point you are wasting my time which frankly we both don't have time of" Viola cut in,standing in front of sloth who pushed Viola off.He cleared his throat and fixed his tie."sorry m'lady...Mr Whiteman and I have came with a agreement that you and your cute little girls are not needed on this mission, yeah" his voice was as thick as syrup and as sickly as such.
"Boss, your clenching up...boss" Viola lunged over at Cupid and pinned him to the wall. The room went real silent as all eyes flashed on the two viscets."listen here, you tell your boss we made a deal" she snapped her jaws in front of the candy viscet.Cupid growled back in defense which he was quickly silenced by the sound of boots clicking against the floor.
"Viola...what is going on" The voice was calm.Viola could only feel the blood pumping to her cheeks and ears, her feathers fluffying up in rage."Wyatt,we had a deal, now don't tell me that this" she slammed Cupid into the wall and glared back through his shades."maggot telling me that you cut me off" she dropped the candy man who crawled away from her.All Wyatt could do was laugh, laugh at the other rage."I am so glad that you honor a thiefs word..so thoughtful" he came towards her which immediately got the attention of her girls who quickly held up there assortment of weapons at the red headed leader. She smiled at him."I best you honor our deal Wyatt or else the only gang that will be eliminated is yours" for the first time this evening Wyatts cocky smile faded into one of irritation. He lifted up his hands over his head.Viola rummaged through his jacket and pulled out his weapons and through it on the floor.

Viola cleared her throat and took off her glasses."alright ladies and gentlemen, since your leader tried to pull the wool over my eyes I will now be in control of all and I mean all commands..don't like it" she glared at Wyatt and smiled."Talk to the leader at gunpoint" she smiled and watched the angered faces of Wyatts own members glare hatefully at her."oh,no one..good" she snapped her fingers and they stood down. She placed a hand on her cheek and looked down at Cupid."oops,my girly gang must be too weak to handle its own." She smiled and gladly walked over Cupid with a little laugh."father round boys, she coaxed up a chair with her tail and sat down, pulling out the same map from her pink leather jacket.Sloth took a pen out of her pocket and gently placed it in the feathered eared viscets paws."now,as I went over with your leader and how he should have relied the information to you" she patted the spot next to her which earned a withering glare. She laughed a little bit and patted the spot next to her again."awe come on Wyatt, you are no fun anymore~" Wyatt gave off a grunt and leaned against the wall."ya really are ruffling my feathers V"
"Clever joke,a tongue like that will do you good when wee randsack these little pests" she turned her attention to the men in front of her."So I believe that there are growing gangs across our city and there all linked together" she said, writing stuff down.
"Yes but there are always new gangs, why is this a big deal" spat out Cupid.Viola felt her left eye twitch. It had been doing that a lot since she got into this smell dump of a hole."if there all connected they are going to essentially surround us and eventually take over our territory's" her voice was calm and serious."what I do is personal,I help my ladies and I help myself, but I do not help the outside world" she looked over at sloth who took out another pen, this one being blue."I am about seventy five percent sure that they do not see you guys as a threat..as weird as that may be.." she stood up from her chair and walked around the table."I will need your guys help to surround one of the bigger clans, sneak in and take every last drop of there resources until there scrambling for a new place to infest" she gripped cupids shoulder tightly and pulled him back."and that's when we get them, kick them out of our city and make sure our hides our out of the danger zone"
She cleared her throat."now...let's hear up,we have a long night ahead of us.
