This boy has some pretty extensive fur edits on him! This includes a custom mane, tufts of fur on his elbows and heels, ruffled fur along his back and two ridges of thick fur on his nose.
If you have ANY questions PM me or other staff members. We will answer your questions to the best of our abilities.
Here! I even did a quick headshot of him to show off that luxurious mane of his. This art, however, cannot be used in any forms. It will be given to the winner.

Age: 392
Gender: Male
Element: Air
Allegiance: Rebellion
Rank: Base WarriorPersonality:
Hardened- Through 392 years of life, from his past as a prison guard to his present life as a base warrior, Forte has grown accustomed to the unpleasant aspects of both life and death. From this experience, Forte has become hardened to the more unfortunate parts of life, a trait very useful in such a time of war.
Funny- Though his sense of humor is rather odd and comes at seemingly inappropriate times (such as right after mourning a death), Forte considers himself to be quite funny. Between cracking the occasional joke and making small comments, Forte is often found expressing some form of humor (he does not understand sarcasm however, nor does it he find the concept of it to be funny).
Big Hearted- Despite not always seeming like the kind of lion who even has a heart, Forte does in fact have quite a big heart. The trouble with Forte is that he is so hardened and de-sensitized to violence that his heart doesn't often get a chance to be shown. But those around Forte during the darkest part of night, the time in which the monsters of your life reign free around your subconscious, one might see that Forte has a heart, and a big one at that.
Literal- Forte is a very literal lion. You ask him to do something, whether it's sarcasm or not, Forte will go do it. This lion simply does not understand sarcasm or have any real concept of figurative language, so one has to be careful when using it around him as he will take it quite literally.
Ruthless- In terms of what he will do for a cause, Forte can be described as rather ruthless towards any opposition or enemy. This ruthlessness however, is typically only applied towards what Forte believes to be a right cause, and usually does not affect other areas of the lion's life.
Moral Code- While Forte is willing to do almost anything for the cause he believes him, the lion will not attempt anything against his personal moral code. That said, Forte's moral code isn't always the same as the moral code expressed by other lions. So while Forte will kill another lion if ordered to do so, Forte will not kill a lioness or cub, his moral code keeping him from doing so.
Calm- Forte is a very calm and composed lion, rarely one to freak out and let emotions take over. It could be the middle of a battle, and Forte would be just as calm as if he were resting back at the base.History:
Cubhood-
Forte was born in the Pride, a small tannish brown bundle of fur and potential. His mother was a tough lioness, never one for any sort of rule breaking or fooling around. It was her influence that motivated Forte to follow the rules of the Pride, as well as to follow in her place in becoming a prison guard. Forte's father was a soft spoken cub trainer, who showed Forte how to master his element. It was his father who instilled in Forte his moral code. Despite the rather unordinary path his life would take him, Forte's cubhood was rather ordinary, and looking back, the lion can remark that it is this time of his life that he misses the most.
Prison Guard-
From the time Forte could walk and talk, the lion knew he wanted to become a Prison Guard like his mother. He had heard stories of the criminals the guards helped keep in prison and protect the Pride from, and with the outbreak of war, Forte knew that it was a necessary position to take. So when the time came to move to his adult ranking, Forte didn't hesitate to choose the role of Prison Guard, and like the other new guards, was swiftly sent to prison planet Z-99. While Forte knew that adjusting to life on Z-99 was going to be hard, the one thing the young lion did not expect was the amount of prisoners. With the war only continuing to increase in severity, both sides had begun taking more and more prisoners, a fact clearly echoed by the fullness of the prison. In the beginning it was hard for Forte, living amongst some of the worst lions in the Cosmos, but as time passed, the young lion soon grew used to his environment. Daily riots began to no longer scare the young lion, and it didn't take long for him to adjust to the screams of the prisoners as "additional punishment" was dealt. Even the verbal threats on Forte's life no longer affected him, the young lion so desensitized to the violence. After a couple years of working as a guard, it began to seem like nothing would ever again affect or bother Forte, though the lion knew that when the lights when out and he was sent to get sleep for night, all of the demons he could avoid in the daytime, suddenly became more real. But despite Forte's ever occurring nightmares, the young lion seemed content with his role in the Pride, his mind convinced that he was doing the right job. Often times the prisoners, especially those of war, would try to plead the case of the rebellion to the guards, hoping to convert a few to their side. Forte had heard the pleas, but the lions who made them were quick to find that when it came to Forte, any persuasion against the Pride would fall on deaf ears. For a long while, Forte believed he was in the right, a long while that came to a swift end.
Change of Mind-
The day that would change Forte forever started like any other day. Z-99 was expecting a new wave of prisoners that morning, so everyone was working overtime to prepare, Forte included. Despite being rather sleep-deprived, the nightmares having been increasingly bad, Forte was overall quite content, the young lion having no idea the change in him that day would spark. Once the new prisoners had arrived, Forte and a few other guards were instructed to walk them to their cells, standard procedure. What wasn't standard procedure was that when the prisoner Forte was expected to walk stepped onto the planet, rather than being some burly rebellion lion, this prisoner was a young cub. The age of the prisoner completely caught Forte off guard, and for the first time in seemingly forever, the young lion was bothered. As he walked the cub to his cell, Forte's mind couldn't help but wonder why a cub was being kept in a prison full of such dangerous criminals. While he knew that the cub's presence on Z-99 must be deserved, Forte couldn't help but wonder why the Pride would allow for such a thing. This cub had it's whole life in front of it, but rather than be able to live that life, they were going to be left to rot on Z-99 for all of their years. After he had walked the cub to its cell, Forte decided to ask a fellow guard what the cub was in for, knowing better than to converse directly with the prisoner. After all, that was what this cub was, just another prisoner. The other guard told Forte that this cub was a rebellion lion of whom had been taken as a prisoner of war. The other guard appeared to have no issue with the age of the prisoner, so Forte decided to leave the matter be, the young lion figuring that eventually he would adjust to this just like everything else. But for some reason, Forte didn't adjust. Days passed by, weeks flew on the wind, and yet Forte was still bothered. The nightmares had also begun to worsen, the young rebel cub making an almost nightly appearance. Sleep-deprived and haunted by the feeling that something about this was genuinely wrong, Forte decided to do the one thing he could think of, he decided to talk to the cub. Getting access to the cub was not hard, Forte was easily able to get a switched guard position, but once he was able to talk to the cub, Forte discovered that he truly had no idea what to even say. He knew what he wanted to say. He wanted to know why the cub was in prison, as even though he knew that prisoner of war was the story the other guards told, Forte couldn't imagine the Pride imprisoning a cub for being a rebel. It's not like the cub possessed much threat to the Pride. They were much better off trying to rehabilitate the cub, rather than leaving it to rot on Z-99. Yet when Forte finally managed to strike up a conversation with the cub, the young lion was horrified to find that the stories were true. This cub was thrown in prison, simply because they rebelled against the Pride. Forte could not believe that the Pride he was so loyal to, could do such a thing, and as time passed, a seed of doubt in Forte's stance in the war began to grow.
Rebellion-
At first the doubt showed itself in the way Forte viewed the prisoners of war, but it was not long before that doubt also began to reveal things about the other guards. While "additional punishment" for the prisoners was allowed, Forte began to notice how the guards took advantage of the allowance and used it as a way to get back at prisoners for specific crimes. The prisoners of war were especially vulnerable to this, and Forte found himself more than once wanting to rush in and stop a guard who was getting overly brutal. It were these little things that added up to what would be one of the biggest decisions of Forte's life. The day the decision came was seemingly quiet, not at all the kind of day upon which Forte would expect a prison bust. Yet that was what came. It was mid-day when the bust began, the result of a rebellion attack on Z-99. Forte, like the rest of the prison guards, was caught completely off guard when all heck broke loose within the prison. The young lion was guarding the cell of the cub when he saw a group of the invading lions head towards him, elements swirling around them, rage bursting in their eyes. It was at this moment that Forte knew he had a choice to make. He could stick to his duty and try to defend the prison against the attack, or, he could use this as his chance to switch to what he was beginning to view as the correct side of the war. Forte knew that the rebels were in favor of new ways, and breaking the traditions, and after years of work as a prison guard, Forte had seen first hand the negative output of the Pride's traditions, and thanks to the seeds of doubt first planted by the imprisoned cub, Forte was finally able to view the traditions as wrong. So, when the rebel lions came at Forte ready to attack, the young lion did the one thing he never thought he would do, he switched sides. Moving quickly, Forte opened the cell door of the cub, trying to establish that he was changing to their side before they attacked him. Luckily for the young lion, the rebels took his prisoner release as a sign of friendship, and proceeded to help him free the rest of the prisoners of war. The invading group was not able to release everyone, but a good amount managed to get out before the prison was locked down, Forte and the rebel cub included. As he fled Z-99 with the rest of the rebels, Forte could not help but feel that for the first time in a long time, he was finally doing something right.Night:
"G'night, Forte." With a small sigh, the base warrior plopped down on his bed, a small dusty area barely big enough to fit the grown lion. The only real thing that made the area qualify as a bed was the absence of rocks. It had been a few weeks since Forte had rebelled against the Pride back at the prison break out and despite claiming otherwise, the lion was having a hard time trying to cope. The first few days were rough, the rebel lions using a variety of "means" to try to determine if Forte was truly on their side or if he was a spy for the Pride. While the methods used to try to break him were harsh at times, Forte managed to pass the inquisition. The days following his "official" joining of the rebellion were merry and full of a mix of travel and celebration. It was after those few days that everything got hard again, and Forte first saw his face on a wanted poster. That was hard. What was even harder was the lion's eventual realization that he could never see his parents again. That was even harder. Then came the day Forte was first asked, or rather, first needed, to kill. It was a raid on the camp that he and his fellow base warriors had set up and were staying at. Forte had been the second lion that night to kill another, but in the battles and fights to come, Forte would always be the first. This was the hardest. Forte's subconscious deeply struggled with these, and the nightmares that had haunted him before, began to feel like dreams in comparison to the night terrors that came now. While through time, Forte had been able to get a little better at dealing with these things, the lion still struggled with the night terrors, which was why, on nights like tonight, he tried to put off slumber until he was meddling on the brink of exhaustion.
Resting his head on his paws, Forte knew that as soon as he closed his eyes he would drift into a weary, terror-filled slumber, so it was with great effort that the lion fought to keep his eyes open. Forte was able to hold his exhaustion at bay for a few peaceful moments, but it did not take long for the tiredness to overwhelm him into surrender. The second Forte's lime green eyes shut, the lion fell into a deep slumber, the several previous sleepless nights taking their toll. Once he reached a deep non-REM sleep, Forte's subconscious began to activate and the night terrors began. Images of his parents and cubs being imprisoned were only the start of Forte's night terrors, and as the images grew more terrifying, the lion began to shake and scream. The night terrors only lasted for twenty or so minutes, but to Forte it felt like an eternity before finally woke back up, his pelt wet with sweat, and his vocal cords sore from screaming. When he finally came back to an awake consciousness, Forte was not surprised to see another rebellion lion standing nearby watching him with concern, Forte's scream had the unfortunate habit of waking others up. "You alright mate?" The lion asked, genuine concern riddling their voice.
The question was so simple, yet it so completely caught Forte off guard. The lion was used to saying that everything was alright, that it was just a little nightmare, no need to worry, yet to answer in that way tonight felt like lying. So Forte instead gave the answer he felt to be the truth. "No. I'm not." He replied, the words settling in the cool night breeze. Without uttering another word, the rebellion lion padded closer over by Forte and plopped himself down on the ground. "Tell me about it." He said, looking to Forte in a way that reminded the young lion of how his father would talk to him whenever he got scared, back when he was just a cub. Feeling at ease for the first time that night, Forte began to tell the lion his story. The story of Forte.Credits wrote:Credit for the Artwork at the top of the form goes to @Squadrons
