This is a standard catapede and our first adoptable !

You feel a poking in your side, and you awake to see a child pointing to the outside of the tent you're staying. You couldn't exactly hear what he was saying because you just woke up. Groaning, you get up and stumble outside. Outside, there's a group of people surrounding someone with a blurry....bundle of red fuzz. You rub at your eyes and once your vision focuses, you realize it's a catapede! You join the group of people and listen in. The explorer who got it says they're willing to let someone else try to tame the creature, as they've already got other things to focus on. It's beady eyes are pulling you in - however, you're not the only one who wants them.

What do you give it?: I watch the Catapede with wide eyes, in awe and wonder of this living pun. But now came a bigger question.... how do I tame it? Obviously I had already fallen in love, drawn to it's wise yet mischevious eyes and It's red fur. Normal centipedes, of course, live off fear and tormenting others, but this was also a cat - so how do you tame it? Unsure of what exactly to do, I had reached for a Poptart, a snack to munch on while I pondered how exactly this was going to work. Peeling open the wrapper, I paused as I noticed the Catapede look my way. Opening the package further showed that it was obviously what was in my hands that interested it. Tossing the Poptart (with wrapper) his way, I watched as the Catapede tore the beautiful Poptart away in order to get to the wrapper. This crinkly, shiny wrapper seemed to be what this Catapede wanted! Laughing, I supplied him with a few more wrappers from the bottom of my backpack. What an interesting creature!

What do you give it?: I give it Catnip shark tail with a safe amount of catnip inside, I gently sit next to the Catapede and place down the little shark toy with bits of healthy treats. I coax it closer with gentle murmurs of reassurance and wait for it to realize catnip and treats are splayed out. I wait patiently, ready to give the Catapede a loving home.
