What is a demon pony?

A demon pony is an odd occurrence indeed. It is when a demon forms a contract with a pony and bonds to it.
These contracts can only be broken with consent from both parties. The representation of this bond is in the form of jewelry or some other accessory which holds the power of their contract. This colt is an odd exception; he is bonded with the demon through a direct, molecular bond and the demon has a deeper connection. This is called a Shar connection.

If a contract is broken the demon separates from its host pony and loses its power.
These contracts are often very beneficial to each other though, the demon is given a source of energy and security from the pony and in return the pony is given magical abilities concerning the demon's element. Demons are bonded to a pony through their tail and take on the shape of their base element.
Demon pony hosts often live much longer than normal ponies; they can live to be 500+ years old with assistance from their demon.

This odd unicorn colt has no visual jewelry bond with his fire demon, instead they are bonded through their actual bodies instead of through a third party.
(It's rumored he may have genetic connections to Raza's royal family; however, nothing has been confirmed and they are merely rumors)

нσω ∂ι∂ нє мєєт нιѕ ƒιяє ∂ємση? Fuego Ardiente (often just called 'Fuego') was on vacation in Turkmenistan, in the Ahal Province. He had decided to visit the Door to Hell (a natural gas field in Derweze that the Soviet Union lit up in flames in 1971 - it has not stopped burning since its ignition). Wanting to observe the amazing site, he got closer and closer to the edge of the land, before it sharply sloped down into the flames. He kept creeping closer until he finally made it to the edge. He peered over the edge, admiring the flames bursting into the air from igniting with the gas. He suddenly lost his footing, and fell directly into the hole. He landed in the midst of the flames, smelling the smoke around him. Oddly, he wasn't burning, nor had he died. A flicker of light, darker than the rest, leaped up and landed on his shoulder. Fuego looked over at the light, squinting his eyes as he tried to make out the shape. "Who are you?"
"A friend."
Suddenly, Fuego was back where he'd started - standing two feet away from the gaping hole that was still belching out flames. He blinked twice, looking around for the being that had saved him. Suddenly, he felt a pull at his tail. He turned, and saw that the fish-like being had replaced his tail with himself.
"I owe my life to you," Fuego said. "How can I ever repay you?"
"Allow me to protect you, to guide and help you in your life."
"Of course I'll let you do that! You're...you're like my guardian angel."
Chuckling filled the air. "Most wouldn't call me that, but you can call me whatever you wish."

And that's how Fuego met his "demon," or as he calls it, his "guardian angel."



нσω ρσωєяƒυℓ αяє тнєу αѕ α тєαм? Fuego Ardiente and his demon are more powerful than most DPs, seeing as they have a different bond than most DPs. By simply touching something, Fuego can set anything ablaze. He has the power to destroy cities with one single touch of a hoof...but he may choose to disable this power at will. He can use his power for good - helping clear fire hazards such as brush and twigs from heavily populated areas of the world, as he can start a fire of his own and snuff it out just as easily.



ρєяѕσηαℓιту: Adventurous - Fuego loves to go on adventures, and isn't afraid of nearly anything.

I feel very adventurous. There are so many doors to be opened, and I'm not afraid to look behind them.

Troublemaker - Because of his adventurous personality, Fuego Ardiente tends to throw caution to the wind. He gets into trouble easily, mainly because he doesn't think a lot of things out before he does them. He's more of an "act now, think about it later" kind of guy.

I was a born troublemaker and might as well earn a living at it.

Easily Angered - Due to Fuego's demon and power, he is easily angered, and has quite a bad temper. Though at times Fuego struggles to keep his temper under control, he usually succeeds in keeping the heat at simmer, instead of boil.

The finest steel has to go through the hottest fire.

Fast Learner - Even though Fuego tends to throw caution to the wind, he really is quite intelligent when he calms down enough to think things through. He will read most anything, and will usually finish a book in a shorter amount of time than most beings due to his years of fast reading.

To learn to read is to light a fire; every syllable that is spelled out is a spark.

Determined - Fuego isn't daunted by any task set in front of him. He enjoys succeeding at these things, and usually won't turn down a challenge. If he loses that challenge, he'll practice to get better, and then he'll have a rematch. He doesn't like to lose.

Success isn't a result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire.

Courageous and Protective - While most ponies stay away from Fuego, when he makes a friend, he is very loyal to that friend. He sticks up for those who get bullied, as he can't stand to see anypony unjustly hurt.

Courage is fire, and bullying is smoke.

How did he meet his fire demon?: I stood silently, watching the bubbling lava. It was cool, watching a volcano like this. I think this is my beat vacation yet. Suddenly, the volcano erupted, spraying me with red, firery lava. I screamed, expecting a sharp pain, but instead, a voice sounded. I am a fire demon, and I want to connect to you. Will you accept?
How powerful are they as a team?: Very. They can destroy anything they want

Molten Thirst

How did he meet his fire demon?:

"The house creaked.

Molten Thirst bolted awake, as a wave of eldritch cold washed over him. He shivered as his waves of heat and coldness floated through his body. The unicorn felt like there was a block of melting ice in his chest, burning him from the inside out, while on the surface Molten's skin felt so cold to the point of numbness. When Molten Thirst tried to rise from his bed, he realized that his legs didn't feel right, they felt like liquid leaking through the floorboards. The stallion's vision swirled as the world lost it's focus. For a moment, Molten Thirst felt like crying out for help, as an overwhelming sensation took him over, a sensation that convinced him he was drowning. In that moment, Molten Thirst felt like he woke up just to discover that the air had become an invisible ocean. In his panic and confusion, Molten Thirst desperately gasped for air. Every gasp would stick in his throat, causing Molten Thirst to yelp breathlessly in desperation until he succumbed to fatigue. He collapsed upon his bed again as Molten's panic cooled down to exhaustion. For a few quiet seconds, Molten Thirst laid dazed among his bed sheets and blankets, motionless, taking slow and forced breathes.

Something wasn't right about how the house creaked. Molten Thirst knew his house like the back of his hoof, he knew what would sound normal and what wouldn't. What exactly sounded off about the creaking wasn't clear to Molten, but vague suspicions ate away at the back of his mind until dismissing the unicorn's fear as paranoia wasn't doable anymore. Molten was not only convinced something was wrong, but he experienced that something was wrong. One thing the unicorn knows he can count on is his instincts. No matter the lack of evidence and reason, Molten Thirst can know. He can sense it.

This time, the knowledge reached out to him, but the attempt at communication failed and instead left Molten Thirst drenched in vertigo. It was a familiar type of vertigo that usually meant he was about to meet an uninvited guest, who would float aimlessly in a field of Rorschach ink blots. This 'guest' terrified Molten Thirst, for being in the mere presence of it, even while dreaming, was enough to paralyze him with fear. Just seeing the "guest", a hypnotic flame that flows freely like ink and water, is enough to warp the mind into thinking time has stopped. In these dreams, Molten and the flame would stare at each other, while the unicorn's only feeling would be a panging, buzzing pain that raged on in his head, one that blots one's vision. Time would slowly drag on, until Thirst couldn't take it anymore, then he would wake up, to the feeling that he's drowning all over again.

Then the cycle continues. Wake up, forget to breathe, panic until exhaustion, sleep, dream, repeat.

This time, however, Molten Thirst didn't plan on sleeping again. Even as his muscles screamed in retaliation, the weak and worn down unicorn dragged himself out of bed. His balance was thrown off immediately, surprised by his own weight. Molten had been lying in his bed for so long that he wasn't used to supporting his own weight again. Must have been three days straight that he has been plagued by the same nightmare, without food or drink. Three days, mindlessly lapsing in and out of consciousness. Molten Thirst broke the cycle by refusing to sleep again.

As Molten Thirst walked across his hallway, his muscles rebelled out of pain. His body had been locked in place for so long, tense from battling nightmares. Now Molten had become unfamiliar with moving, and walking had become not only taxing, but painful. Forcing his stiff bones to walk further, Molten Thirst could only hear the pounding of his head as walked down his stairs, trying to reach the kitchen. It was not his hunger than concerned the unicorn, all he wanted was some water. The dehydration didn't sit well with Molten Thirst's stomach, he felt an ill feeling of dread forming within him. Successfully holding a glass of water in his shaky telekinesis, Molten downed the drink greedily. In seconds, the cool liquid had been depleted, leaving Molten Thirst with the chance to savor the refreshing moment. His headache soon subsided, as the unicorn's head cleared. He could hear clearly now, and what he heard resounded throughout the house.

The sound he heard was a blaring, overstated silence.
