A Makoatl is a terrestrial shark-dragon hybrid recently discovered off the coast of the greenland sea. They have the powerful tail and jaws of a shark, with the body and (occasional) horns of a dragon. They usually have manes, and are covered in thick coats of fur- adapted to keeping out the cold in their native habitat. They live on a diet of mainly meat and fish, and are known to be vicious hunters! Despite this attitude toward their prey, however, they are very protective and mothering to their offspring, as well as to each other the majority of the time.

"Kai? You okay?"
Kai exhaled and turned to his right to see all three of his companions staring at him. "Uh .. yeah, man, of course I'm okay. I'm Kai, remember?" he said loudly, flashing a nervous grin.
Alistar, the makoatl who had asked, shrugged, giving a pointed look at the others. "...Yeah," he rolled his eyes, "we remember."
"So, Kai, where's this place we were heading to?" asked Miinow, the youngest of the group. He leaped to his feet, excitedly scraping his claws against the smooth rocky terrain.
"Oh, right," Kai muttered. "It's a huge trench off the--" he paused, noticing something out of the corner of his eye. It was the pretty female mako perched on the rocks near Kai and his group. She was talking to another mako, a girl named Saer whom Kai was fairly acquainted with. Kai's words trailed off as he got lost in the unknown female's beauty.
Gracefully, the femme stood up, flicking her tail goodbye at Saer, then dove into the ocean.
"Hold on, guys," Kai said breathlessly. He leaped over Miinow and darted away from his group. "Saer," he called to his friend. Her ears pricked up and she turned, her bright amber eyes sparkling.
"Hey, Kai," she said softly, smiling at him. "What's going on?"
"That girl you were talking to," Kai said, nodding his head in the direction the mako had swam off. "Who is she?"
Saer's ears flicked back slightly, and a frown came over her face. "Oh. That's why you're here," she murmured.
"What was that?" Kai asked, tilting his head to the side.
"Um, nothing," Saer piped up, plastering on a fake smile. "Anyways .. that other girl ..." Saer halted. Should I tell him the truth? I should .. but ... "I just met her. I .. didn't catch her name." Saer lied very smoothly. "Why, do you like her or something?"
"Like her?" Kai shifted his paws. "No! No, I mean, she's gorgeous. But I don't have .. feelings for her. Just want to show her how amazing I am, you know."
Saer looked at the ground, smiling slightly. "Yeah, I know."
There was a moment of silence, before Kai broke it. "So you don't know who she is?"
Saer pursed her lips. "Nope. Never seen her before today."
Kai felt a pang of disappointment, but he didn't allow Saer to see it. All his friends knew him as a womanizer -- not a romantic. "Aw. Oh, well. I'll go find some other pretty one to chase," he said arrogantly.
Saer nodded sadly. "Yep. See you later, Kai."

I decided to name this beauty Jet Stream because the first thing I saw in him was an underwater airplane. I'm not quite sure why, but it seemed to fit him. His greys remind me of the freedom of the clouds while the blues drag you to the murky depths of the sea.

The reason I chose make for Jet, is because of his colours and ambitions. The grey markings of this beauty give him more of a male appeal in my eyes, while the blues catch your attention by popping with the other colours. The personality I have picked out for him shows allot of male vibrato and strength. Another reason I choose male is because I seem to connect with male characters more.

Jet loves a good laugh and has learned to shove off his misfortunes with a good joke. Due to the fact that he cannot fulfil his dream without being judged by his parents, he has had to learn to be worry free and not let things bug him.
Exotic
Not every Makoatl would even think of the goals Jet wants to achieve. Growing up, other pups would race each other through the water, seeing who could reach the larger rocks out at sea. Jet had a diferent idea of fun, he wanted to fly. Not fly like a bird, but to be able to fly an airplane.
Tenacious
"You're a loser." "You have no idea what you're talking about." "Flying? What do you think you are, a bird?"
Those words. Those words of discouragement never stopped him as a child, and they definitely wont now. Being a persistent Makoatl, Jet grew through all the hate and ended up finding an old airplane. It was run down and needed a lot of work, which just brought more doughtful people. His plane, named "Faith", still isn’t running to this day, but it gets closer and closer with every minute.
