-----personality ;
Burk is quiet and straight to the point when it comes to any task he's given. He is also very calm and forgiving, but quite passionate about his line of work. He is, however, crafty, and stubborn when some flaws of his are pointed out. Overall, Burk is a complex and high-spirited individual. He has a soft spot for the family who took him in, and he grew to love some of the noises he hears at home rather than the ones outside. Burk is protective, and an over-bearing brute who can be mistaken for someone else because of how quiet he can be around others. Its not his thing to be a social butterfly or charm his friends - because of his past, all he wanted was what every little bean who is alone would want... a family. He's usually only shy when meets new Beans or something else he hasn't seen yet face to face.

Ascalon is extremely quiet. He doesn't like to talk or answer questions. He was abandoned by his original parents at three months old because he hadn't said a word, so they thought he was mute and left their 'deformed' baby under an abandoned shed. He keeps quiet because he believes that anything he says will come back around and affect his life in some way or another. Ascalon doesn't like to show his emotions. He bottles them up and only expresses himself to someone that he's really comfortable with, when the words flow out of his mouth in an uncontrollable rant. He manages to keep a straight face most of the time, and has an outwardly calm appearance, but inside he is a seething pit of darkness.


ɪɴ-ᴅᴇᴘᴛʜ ᴘᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ;;

Quiet
Ascalon is extremely quiet. He doesn't try to be loud, and just have a quiet voice, no, Ascalon chooses not to speak. He hates to talk to people unless he really trusts them, so grunts and shrugs aren't uncommon. He doesn't like to speak because he thinks that anything he might say will come back around and used against him in some way. Some kids at school have never even heard him speak. A lot of people misinterpret his quietness as lacking in confidence and encourage him to talk, and when he mumbles something or grunts, they praise him as if he just made the greatest achievement on earth. When this happens, Ascalcon simple glares with his steely grey eyes and tries hard not to make a sharp comment.

Dark
Ascalon is not depressed or psychotic as such, but he tends to think differently to other dragons. He can often see the worst in people and thinks of the bad outcomes before good. He rarely smiles. It doesn't make him a bad person, he doesn't intentionally try to hurt others. Many people try to understand him, only a few succeed. Ascalon sometimes doesn't understand him own emotions and when this happens, it troubles him deeply.

Reserved
Ascalon prefers to keep himself to himself. He doesn't really like to express his feelings or make new friends. He tries not to show his emotions, thoughts or feelings. He only expresses himself fully to his closest friends, and even so, he doesn't like to to. In big groups of people, he tries to keep closer to the walls and outside of the group and his answers become very monosyllabic. Most people can never tell what's on Ascalon's mind as most of the time, his face is completely deadpan. Not many people have ever seen him smile.

Mysterious
'Mysterious' is sort of self explanatory. An air of mystery seems to shroud Ascalon and not much is known about his past. Some people thinks he just can't remember, but in truth, he remembers quite a lot. Ascalon hates to talk about his past because he is ashamed. People have tried to coax him into letting it out, but no matter what they try it won't work. He doesn't like to announce himself when he goes somewhere, and sometimes it scares people because they didn't realize that he was in the room, but he suddenly 'appears' out of nowhere.

ᴇᴅɪᴛs;;

Fur;;
Ascalon's main body fur is sort of in between long and short furred. It's similar to how it is right now, but the chest fur is just slightly smoother and doesn't clump up in one place. I love the belly fur just the way it is. If this is too difficult/time consuming, feel free to just make him short-furred. The fur on the back of his neck is slightly thicker than usual and spikes up all over the place and he has a long mane running from his head to about halfway down his tail.

Legs;;
There is long fur on the back of Ascalon's legs like this bean. He takes pride in this fur and brushes it frequently as it tends to tangle and snag on things.

Ears;;
Ascalon's ears are large and end in tufts, similar to this bean's, however, his right ear is split down the middle in a large v-shaped scar.

Scars;;
Ascalon also has a scar over his left eye that looks like a claw mark and two scars on his left hip. He got these when he was a child and a hawk tried to carry him off.

Tail;;
The tuft at the end of his tail is bigger and thicker than normal. This will grow as he continues to age. (please note that it is not supposed to curve round as if it is defying gravity, I just couldn't fit it in the frame)

How this compliments the personality::
I think this compliments Ascalon's personality because I feel like it adds to the mysterious effect because no-one knows how or why his fur is like that. He doesn't like to be different and often feels very awkward about having different fur, but because of his strange personality, no one can usually tell. His neck fluff tends to get twigs and leaves caught on it, meaning Ascalon often has to brush it or pull them out with his hands. he refuses to tell anyone how he got his scars.

Spiked Collar;;
Ascalon wears a spiked collar. It is made out of a stiff, shiny grey leather and is studded with aluminum spikes. The is a stained glass window charm, instead of a tag. Most people think Ascalon just wears his collar to look threatening, but to him, it is a reminder that he will never be free from the shackles of his past life.

Cloak;;
Ascalon also has a forest green cloak that he wears all the time. When he was a baby, it was found draped over him, as he was too small to wear it. He likes to hide inside it, often pulling it over his face, adding to his air of mystery.

ғᴀᴍɪʟʏ ᴀɴᴅ ғʀɪᴇɴᴅs;;

Tuesday ~ Single mother ~ owned by Jinx.

Although he knows she's not his birth mother, Ascalon is fiercely protective of Tuesday. He didn't like her at first, and shouted at her, but after a while, realized that she is just kind and gentle and really cares about him. He loves to watch her make jewellery and helps her find the prettiest shells on the beach. Tuesday is one of the few beans that Ascalon feels he can really 'open up to'. She doesn't try to encourage him to talk and understands the reason for his quietness. Ascalon knows he can confide in Tuesday for any advice, kind words and earnest answers to his questions. He loves to watch her make things out of shells and driftwood, while he paddles his toes in the ocean.


Kimba ~ Friend ~ also owned by Jinx.

Kimba is one of Ascalon's best friends. They stick up for each other and help each other out. They sit together at lessons and frequently visit each others houses. Ascalon is still quite shy and reserved, even around Kimba, but not nearly as much as he is around everyone else, apart from his fiends and family.


Harper ~ Friend ~ owned by AnnaROUaT

Harper, Kimba and Ascalon have become practically inseparable. Often affectionately called the 'troublesome trio', they like to hang out a lot of the time. Ascalon really trusts Harper, as she was one of the first people at his school to ever talk to him as an equal, and not ask him where he got his scars or why his fur is so weird. Ascalon feels proud that he is friends with someone cool, as Harper is a general crowd-pleaser, though he can find her annoying at times.

Harper's Thoughts on Ascalon [third person view]:
When Harper met Ascalon, her first thought was how she could make her interactions with him a game. That, however, is just how Harper is. The game, on the other hand, turned into something much more interesting than she'd ever imagined. When Harper was first introduced to the mysterious bean, it was through some cheesy "show a new kid the ropes" program. She was paired with the silent bean, and an awkward one-sided conversation ensued. Harper quickly realized that Ascalon could speak, he just chose not to. And within hours of their first greeting, Harper challenged herself to be the first at the school to make Ascalon speak. It was not out of spite that she did so, but the fact that the bean's mysterious identity was intriguing to her. And ever since his first "hi" was uttered to the young female, well, she hasn't stopped talking to him.

Ascalon is Harper's total opposite. And, as such, Harper finds nothing better to do than enjoy his perspective on life. While she's boisterous, loud, clumsy and confident, Ascalon is the reverse. His point of view makes her think harder than ever before, and she loves trying to force herself to see through his point of view. The way he observes the world is curious, fun and new to Harper, and she's not afraid to show her love for it. So all that Harper can do is hope the feeling is reciprocated, and listen to what he thinks of the universe.
