Intro
Blade Cats, or Felis Vasica, are related to the big cats such as tiger and lion. The name comes from their unusually sharp claws and cut-like stripes. They were believed extinct. They have a very long mane of sharp blades like metal, which is also found in the tail bush. They range world wide, and are dangerous if threatened.

Diet
The blade cat needs to eat at least its body weight in one month in order to retain its muscles and thus, its speed. Depending on what is available, they shall eat anything around their size or larger. It is not uncommon that a pride of African blade cats shall join together to take on a young bull elephant or giraffe.

Habitat and behaviors.
The blade cat species vary greatly, depending on environment. They can live practically anywhere, as long as they can find a food source. They are very wary of humans, due to the hunting and noise, plus lack of food. So, if you intend to find a blade cat, get as far away from human populations as possible.
The blade cat tends to be a generally solitary cat, but some species, like the African small, can be found in groups from 5 to 50. They are proud, quick to take offense, and can kill at any moment. Territory is their biggest prize besides their mate and kits. A classic territory ranges from 20 to 50 miles in radius. Commonly, the males are followed closely by one or more female mates they may have won or chosen.
When another blade cat trespasses on ones territory, they will confront to engage in combat. First, they get low and growl. They then spread their manes and tail bushes out into a full circle of lethal spikes and commence hissing and rattling their tails to threaten. If neither backs down to the challenge, they fight begins shortly. They launch forward and run at each other using their long legs. Then, using their claws and teeth, they may do a run by rake or bite. Once they pass each other, they once again turn to face each other. These battle dances and vary in length of time, but eventually they come into close combat if neither surrenders. They then, using their manes, tails, claws, and teeth, shall battle until one surrenders or dies. Lost parts are not uncommon in this territorial combat. The winner then takes the females of the loser and receives the land that was fought over. The loser must find a new hunting ground and try to cope with the lost parts.
Courtship is the primary thing you see in summer. The males of the area shall demonstrate their manes and tail strength in large group assemblies by raising them out and hissing, making them into the lethal weapons they are in combat. Generally, the largest manes and strongest get mates. Then, two males may engage in combat if evoked. The results can be lost claws and mane or tail pieces, even death. If the loser has lost claws, parts, or especially the mane and tail pieces, they shall lose greater chances of getting a life long mate. The largest and most dominant females at the gathering shall attack each other often, thus, deciding whom is worthy of a mate. The males then pick a female, and if there is some disapproval from either side, they do not mate. Males may present gifts of food or objects of taste to females to gain favor. When the gatherings break, the males take the females to their turf.

Appearance
Blade cats range from the size of 1 foot tall to the height of a man. They can be 2 feet to 10 feet long. The blade cat species tend to be very different and unique, depending on location. Longer furred cats can be found closer to the poles of the earth, while the shortest fur can be found close to the equator. Color and size vary the greatest, from the common red to a rainbow of hues. They commonly have a base coat of a natural color, complemented by a stripe color of a different theme. (Read more in 'species and identification/rarity'). Gender can be determined by the teeth. Cats with longer teeth that show from their mouth are males, as you cannot see the teeth on glance, it is female. Their eye blocks each have a unique shape. Some are pronged, others rounded, but they vary in great numbers. Some eye blocks have been found in heart shapes, even stars. They have unusually long hind legs that can propel them to speeds of 90 mph if necessary. Mane and tail blades can vary in shape and position. Some have mace like tails, while others possess one sharp edge. Tail numbers can vary from one to even 10 tails. The manes and tail bushes can spread into large impressive crests from 3 to 7 feet long, depending on the species and size. In general, the best way to see the species you are looking at is by fur length, location, and size.
