What is a Quarlan? wrote:A Quarlan is a decent of Anthracotherium magnum, which is a retaliative of the hippo. Quarlans share quite a few traits with their ancestor, one being their weight. They can weigh up to 700 pounds, depending on the height of the Quarlan. They range from 3 feet to 6 feet tall, the ones being 3 feet often are more domesticated. Taller Quarlans are known to have more primitive behaviors, and are a bit harder to tame then average.
Their diet consists of whatever they can get their paws on, this can include household items. They have been known to eat anything, ranging from pudding to car tires. Quarlans have really good digestive systems, but a lot of the time letting them get into material objects doesn't end well. They can easily digest most human foods, but a lot of Quarlans are allergic to grains.
Young Quarlans are called calves, the same as a hippos young are called. For the first few days of their lives,the calf's eyes are closed shut. Their eyes will open around 4-6 days, depending on the Quarlan. From birth the calves are very dependent on their family members, rarely will they ever leave their sides. In captivity/people's homes young Quarlans are also dependent on their care takers. Bonding with a young Quarlan is crucial if you want to have a positive relationship with it later on, as this is the point in their lives when they form the closest bonds.
● You aren't allowed to make your own, unless I give you permission to do so.
● You may own as may as you like.
● You aren't allowed to sell/trade them. If you no longer want them, contact the artist who designed them and get a readoption set up.
● Don't revamp your Quarlan without asking the artist first. They have the right to decline any revamps, too.
● I will give out customs/MYOs occasionally to users who show interest in the species, but other than that, please don't ask for customs. ;o;
● I'll open up artist and other staff positions when they are needed, please don't ask to be a staff member unless spots are open.
