What are they?
Cerquine are a Arabian+Whitetailed Deer Hybrid. They are the size of a Whitetail but leggy and built like an Arab. Their faces resemble deer with a sligtly dished head like the Arab. Their mane is very choppy and short. Their eyes are quite large due to being nocturnal. Cerquine also have cloven hooves and a small amount of feathering. They have a deer tail but it is fuller than a normal one. They are born without spots but the older they get the more "fawn-like" spots they get. The age to be around 20 years old. Cerquine can come in almost any horse coat except Appaloosa and any Dapple. Paints are allowed the when there are paints there is a small amount of white and they tend to be a very rare color. They also always have a dorsal stripe. These can vary in color depending on what the base coat of that Cerquine is.Their movment and diet are similair to a deers.
Male - Stallion
Have antleers, fewer spots than the females, and brightly colored eyes.
Female - Doe
More spots, no antleers, and duller eyes.
Babys are called Fawns.
under the age of 2 males are called Bucks
under the age of 3 females are called Fillies
Behavior
Cerquine are nocturnal creatures that live in thick forets. They have come to live this way to help hide from humans.
Stallions are very agressive. They sometimes fight to the death to win over the Does. Theses creatures mate for life but one male could have up to 3 famales in his herd. Does he have to be mates with all of them? No. most of the time the other two are either his young Buck(who get kicked out at the age of 2) or a Filly waiting to find her own Stallion. A Doe wants a Stallion with Bright eyes. The fighting is mainly for the Stallions to show who is boss, the Does rarly pay attention to it. Does tend to be more relaxed and tend to be friendlier. They mature at 3 years if age. The Stallions mature at 2, but are not called a Stallion until they find a mate. Untill then they are still called Bucks.
Why are they Being Adopted out?
These creatures are sadly going Exticnt. Humans have been Potching them for their rarely spoted coat and for the males Antleers. We are hopping that by letting people adobt them, they can be bred and thrive in captivity so one day we can release them back into the wild without threat of extiction.
Once adopted the Does and Fawns can be treined very easily. They have been known to be able to pull small carts and cary small children. You can easily train a young Buck but once he finds a mate and becomes a Stallion only the most ruthless owners could train him.
