    genetics and zoology nerd here: I just found out that researchers were able to map the dna of the thylacine and I might actually cry ???
    it makes me so happy; the thylacine is my favorite animal and it's a relief that we at least still have a part of them: we have their dna.
    they aren't gone forever anymore ;v; I was so determined to try to get on that team someday to help had they not been able to do this
